A while back, I posted about a fun deal that Rite Aid was offering via their Single Check Rebate program. All you had to do was purchase $10 worth of products from brands like Sally Hansen, Maybelline, CoverGirl, etc. and you were eligible to receive a Glam Camp Bag full of beauty samples. This was the kind of offer that I found impossible to resist because, well, I knew I'd be purchasing $10 worth of those brands regardless! The offer has since expired, but I told you that I'd post about my bag when I got it, and I finally got it!
So let's take a look at what I got:
I received the following items:
1 pink mini-duffel bag
1 trial size bottle Dial Cranberry Body Wash
1 disposable Schick Razor
1 Jane Cosmetics BePure Mineral Eye Lighter Shadow palette in Tigers Eye
2 samples of Fantasia hair products
1 coupon for a chance to win a $10 iTunes gift card (not pictured)
Now, looking around at the blog posts other bloggers have written about the contents of their Glam Camp Bags, I'd say that mine was very similar to theirs in terms of the amount and type of products I received.
I have to be honest and tell you that, at first, I was a little underwhelmed. I sort of expected there to be more to this bag than four samples. BUT, after thinking about it for a while, I'm not upset at all about this offer. When I think about what I've done just to get ONE free sample of something in the past (filling out endless forms, etc.) this bag looks better and better to me. All I had to do was purchase $10 worth of products that I would have purchased anyway, and then log on to the Rite Aid site and enter in my receipt information. About a month later, I received this bag and I'm pretty happy that not only did I receive samples, but I actually received a full-size product to boot (a full-size product was NOT in the description of this offer, so I feel like this was a real bonus).
So putting it into perspective, I feel that the products I received were worth the amount of effort I put into it. Sure I would have loved to have received more samples, but I'm happy with a full-size Jane shadow and I love love love that Dial Cranberry Body Wash anyway, so it's nice to have more of it.
I received a sample of Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Jane Eye Zing Carry Along in London, 2 samples of hair care which I already used and now forget what they were (lol), and the razor. Truthfully, this is much better than last year. I don't remember exactly what I got last year, but I think it was mostly perfume samples. So, this is an improvement! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to get mine now =] will u be doing a post on reviews of some of these products?
ReplyDeleteI also received the fantasia samples, razor and Jane Be Pure mineral eyelighter shadow in Pure Platinum along with some Goody hair band with the itunes coupon. I was surprised because I wasn't expecting to get any full sized items. I assumed it would be a bunch of samples. It could have been more things included but it was nice nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI got mine about a month or so ago, I too was a little underwhelmed. Guess I thought there would be more to it, but I guess I'm happy with something I paid -0- for. Mine had samples of Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse, Lusters Moisturizer Hair Lotion, Dickinsons Witch Hazel Towelette, trial sz bottle of Jergens Shea Butter & Caress Evenly Gorgeous and the change to win the Itunes Gift Card. The bag shocked me though, I was expecting it to be bigger. But it's cute for a toiletry/cosmetic bag.
ReplyDeleteLucky you you got a full size product! I was a little disappointed at first, but now I feel like it was really good because I use the bag to pack my lunch when I go to work and I love the jane quad in chicago.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like what I got in my bag. It was nothing special. All I got was the Dickinsons Witch Hazel Towelette, 2 hair samples (the ones you get in magazine inserts), and a sample size Jesse's Girl Eye Dust. Wish I got more samples like the Jane eyeshadow compact. This is going to be first and last time I ever do the rebate.
ReplyDeleteThe bags aren't amazing but I would have puchased $10 of those products anyway. Did everyone get their bags already because I haven't gotten mine yet :/
