The Wednesday Question

I can't wait to see your answers to this one!

What's your go-to lip color?

If I were to come to your home and look through your lip color stash, what one color would I see repeated over and over again? Everyone's got a "safe-zone" when it comes to lip color. A particular shade that makes you feel satisfied, confident or comfortable. For me, it's warm pinky-browns. I own a zillion of them because they're just plain easy. I can throw on a pinky-brown creme or matte and I'm out the door without any fuss. So what about you? What color do you always gravitate toward? Cherry red? Nude? Hot pink? Let's here it!

  1. Nudes! Pinky nudes, caramelly nudes, raisiny nudes ... I have a lot of 'em. :)

  2. Berries and jewel toned pinks. I'm pretty pale, and those seem to brighten me up!

  3. Bluish red. Preferably in matte, though sometimes in summer I'll use a gloss. ^_^ But I like the vintagey look!

  4. My go to shade is a pinkish/bronze or coppery color. These include Estee Lauder's Sugar Honey from the Pure Color line, and Cafe Latte' for the All Day Wear line. I also love a liquid lipstick from Sally Beauty Supply's Savvy Line called Golden Honey I've worn for years. Prescriptives made one called True Bronze (which is still available online) I always get complimented on.

  5. RED! love all shades. Not the best follower of rules. LOL I think all different shades of red look great on me. I do have more red than any other color. :O) Great question

  6. I always stick to medium-dark berry colors or bluish reds. I was brought up thinking these "bold" colors were perfectly ordinary thanks to my mom.

  7. As for lipstick it would be berry or wine and red.
In Gloss I'm all about blues and sparkly pink.

  8. i'm a colour schizo but my go-to shades are warm pinky nudes...sometimes with a bit of shimmer or a coppery tone. like the lighter version of your pinky-browns. i just throw on a thick layer of lipbalm when i start doing my makeup so that at the end when i pick a lippie they're prepped and ready to go or if i skip the lipstick they're conditioned for the dry office.

  9. Rose-- or dusty rose, or just pinky browns in general. They are easy, and they tend to give just enough color to my lips while still looking.. I dunno, not too fussy. Not that I don't like a nice red occasionally, but 90% of the lip items I buy have the word 'rose' or some variation thereof in the name.

  10. I feel like I look best in nudes ...and I just started wearing lipstick so I'm really experimenting with different colors, but so far I just love the lighter lip on me.

  11. SH stole my answer! haha =] yup, berry toned, more 'neutral' reds i guess. rose tinged reds, brown toned reds, slightly plummy reds, yadda yadda =]

  12. Mine used to be red. Now I go for fuchsia or a 'naked pink' shade.

  13. Red. Most of my favorite lipsticks or glosses are red.

  14. Orange, no not garish neon orange, but I have a yellow/sallow toned complexion so shades that are warmer...have orange in them, look best on me. So nudes, since they tend to be peach, or I'll check out browns to see if they lean towards coppery brown, corals as long as they are muted. No garish red-orange! Today I'm wearing "Glowing Ember", a Maybelline Forever Metallics lipstick. It's a dark peach frost.

But I like to wear burgundy, wine, plummy shades when I want a darker color at night, so you'll see quite a few of them too.

  16. I am the same- warmer pinky browns!! Also, any other medium toned typical pink color that's pretty neutral.

  17. I'm a warm pink lippie lover, too! It goes with pretty much everything. My fave is MAC Plushglass in Power Supply (smells nasty, but looks fab!).

  18. I'm a warm pinky rose kind of gal! My first ever lipstick was Maybelline's Moisture Extreme lipstick in Windsor Rose and ever since then I find that roses have been growing the most in my lip collection!

  19. MLBB/My Lips But Better colors, aka peachy pinky brown. MAC Hug Me is my gold standard.

  20. GREEEN, I just love green lipstick and gloss...I'm kidding. I love bright, fresh blue-toned pinks (but not leaning towards purple). They help you look awake and make your teeth look whiter.

  21. My goto color is usually a warm peachy type shade. Right now I've been wearing Sonia Kashuk lipstick in nectar. It is pretty sheer so I don't ever really have to look when applying it.

  22. I have this money-stealing idea that I should be 'well-rounded'. So I have all different colors. I was so into red for so long. But now I find that for a go-to it's a mauvey pink. The 'if I can only have one' is Avon's Rosebud. They have it in a liner, gloss and lipstick.

  23. Stila's 24kt lip gloss in Precious Coral. I haven't been using it lately, though... XD;;; But it actually doesn't look full, which is a first for me when it comes to lip products!

  24. Sheer reds. I'm super pale and I have very dark hair, and sheer reds perk up my face. I think they're really easy to wear and universally flattering. I have a TON of lip products, and about 1/2 of them are somewhere in the sheer red family.

  25. Pinks and reds, 'specially if they're metallics :-)

  26. Another vote for sheer reds :) both warm and cool shades. My natural lip pigment is already pretty deep (and leans toward cool yet my skin tone is warm, go figure) that anything lighter just washes me out.

  27. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Nude Lustre! ;)
