It's come to my attention over the past year and a half of writing this blog that I am not alone in my obsessions. More specifically, I'm not alone in the fact that my obsessions change and morph and shift from time to time. Sometimes I'll go months obsessing over lipsticks and only lipsticks. Then for a few weeks, I will only look at eyeshadows when I'm at the drugstore. Then I might move on to perfume for a while.
It pleases me very much to know I am NOT alone in my shifting obsessions, so now I'd like to hear about yours:
What is your current beauty obsession?
I'm not talking about a particular brand or shade, but what one type of PRODUCT are you obsessed with at the moment? Eyeshadow? Blush? Foundation? Moisturizer? Nail polish? Come, let's hear it. What is the one type of product that fills your heart and drains your wallet these days?
nail polish! I went through a nail polish NEED phase and it died down and I feel it coming back lol
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS been obsessed with lip products...balm, gloss and stick. But more recently it has been solely focused on lip stick. It is the first section I look at when I look at the cosmetics.

lipgloss because its fun and under-eye concealer because its a need!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a brand-spankin' new nail blogger, it can go without saying what my current obsession is. However, I have found a site that, each day, lists a magazine subscription at a really low rate. And some, for less than $8 at LEAST, I can get a year's subscription for what ONE magazine would cost off the stand. They have a variety of venues from Woman's Day, Runner's World, and today, some football mag. I even got a muscle mag (maybe another obsession??) at $6 for a 3 YEAR subscription. SWEET DEALS!!!

ReplyDeleteI don't know if you'd consider this to be a beauty product, but I do so..perfume oils! (And I know you said not to get specific but I'm going to anyway, haha. Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab!) I cannot get enough of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently obsessed with nail polish! I'm going through a nail polish phase where i have to have every color that i see. Sinful colors is my favorite brand atm, but probably because in my Wags there have been 2 99 cent sales in the past month!
ReplyDeletemascara always. now that i am older i am venturing into exspensive mascaras. i will try every new one that comes out. actually i am gonna try dior show now as my old one ran out.
ReplyDeleteEyeshadow!! I'm always big on eyeshadows. They are just so versatile, you can mix and match to create a while new look. I love that.

ReplyDeleteI'm going through a major liquid eyeliner and mascara. Like everytime I go to the store I feel like I need to pick some up, and I put it on all the time. I swear I touch up my mascara a million times a day.
ReplyDeleteTotally nail polish. I bit my nails from about the age of 5 to 25, and I could never seem to stop. So I bought a couple of bottles of nail polish to bribe myself about a year and a half ago and kept clear polish on to remind myself not to bite my nails. It worked and I haven't bitten them since then!
ReplyDeleteSo I keep them polished all the time now and buy new polishes (cheap ones) constantly. Last night I got two of the CQ polishes and two Petites from Rite-Aid!
Lip products, the funny thing is a few years ago I wouldn't even look at lipstick I was a gloss kind of girl. I have more lip products than I know what to do with, smh.

Purple and cool-toned fuschia lip glosses. I can't get enough of them. I was looking at the department store stuff, but I'm finding many "drugstore" brands are offering these shades.

ReplyDeleteLipsticks also. I'm afraid to really haul gloss cause it goes bad so fast, but I cannot resist a great nude lipstick.
oddly enough, i am in a blush phase! that's been the majority of my purchases in the last month. i used to get by with one cool, one warm, and now i have 7 and counting!

ReplyDeleteBronzer. I've just recently started using powder bronzers, how to apply them, choosing the right shade, high-end or drugstore, etc... In a close second place: foundation. I'm always looking for the next best thing...*sighs*
ReplyDeleteTotally nail polish, mainly because it is the only beauty thing I can apply by myself with any kind of skill. I suck at make-up, so I tend to go simple there, but with diva-esque fingers.

ReplyDeleteIt kind of took me by surprise. o.O Usually, I'm an eye girl, but at the moment, all the pretty new lip colors are eating my brain. XD
I so do this! I flip out over a certain item for a while and must research everything possible about that product (and also buy a bunch). At first it was mineral makeup to the point that I even made my own, then it was perfume. Right now I'm still collecting perfume like mad but reading all these beauty blogs is making me want all sorts of other things too (taupe eyeshadows! orange-peach lipsticks!).

ReplyDeleteBlush. Blush blush blush. I was on specktra yesterday and they had a count your blush/blush collection thread, I posted, commented and found out I had 33 =/ which really isn't bad compared to some people who had 70+ but....I <3 blushes =D
ReplyDeleteEverything, I'm more obsessed with dollar stores and other bargain stores and will buy whatever they have. My nearest Dollar Tree has mostly lip stuff so I go nuts buying lipsticks and glosses there, the Dollar Tree near my sisters has eye stuff, so I get all kinds of eyeshadows, liners, and mascaras there. The Dollar Tree near my mother in law had all the LA Colors Color Craze shades, as well as the Ocean State Job Lot near me with the old Sally Hansen/Tracy Reese polishes, so I got a big box filled with nail polishes. And my favorite, the Ocean State Job Lot near my sisters had foundations and blushes, so that's what I got there. I have more cosmetics then I'll ever use, but that doesn't mean I've stopped buying 'em anyway! I feel like I should be making my face up three or four times a day instead of just in the morning. lol
ReplyDeleteKimberly, check Amazon.com for magazine subscriptions, recently they had a "get two years for the price of one" deal going on, and it might still be on. Their prices seem to be the best I've seen anywhere, even without the sale.
