Hello my lovelies! I'm sorry I've been MIA the past few days (as evidenced by my lack of response to comments--I will catch up tomorrow, promise!). But things have been kind of hectic and I can't seem to keep up. Of course I'd rather pop in and post some (hopefully) helpful info when I have a chance to hop on the computer, so that's exactly what I'm going to do in this post.
First off, no sooner do I mention to you that I'm curious about the new L'Oreal EverStrong haircare line than I check my mailbox and find THIS sitting there waiting for me:
Yep, free samples of EverStrong! How crazy is that? I mean, they arrived the day after I posted that I was curious about this line!
I don't even remember how I became eligible to have CVS send me free beauty samples (maybe I checked a box on a form, or maybe they send these based on my purchase history) but I'd love to know if you got these samples too!
Next, I wanted to remind all of you CVS shoppers to check your local store's clearance section every time you visit CVS. It's usually an end cap at the back of the store and it's usually full of miscellanous products from all departments. But every once in a while, you'll stumble across something like this:
Lavera is a German skincare brand that makes organic and vegan skincare products (sort of like Weleda and Dr. Hauschka) and their products are pretty pricey. My CVS is apparently getting rid of some products because this cleanser for oily skin was on clearance for $1.99 (retail price: $19.99). There were also several different moisturizers, cleansers and eye creams all for around $2 a piece, and none of them were old (this bottle expires 10/2010). So if you are a Lavera fan (or always wanted to try their products but couldn't afford to) definitely check your CVS clearance section and see if you can spot these!
And finally, I want to update you on some upcoming reviews. Please know that I am listening to you. What I mean is, I see the way you are voting on the poll at the bottom of this page, and I realize that there's an overwhelming number of you who want to see more makeup reviews here on Nouveau Cheap. Please do not think I am ignoring your wishes! I am actually VERY excited to tell you that I've got two really neat makeup reviews coming this week (the brands are a surprise but of course they're super affordable and easily accessible). I've got exciting new makeup products to share with you, so please check back soon if you need your budget-friendly makeup fix!
I got a sample the other day from CVS, but it was U by Kotex. Not sure if I'll use them, and I don't recall signing up but free is free :D
ReplyDeletewoohoo! more reviews!
ReplyDeletei recall getting samples and Everpure in the mail, and i get various other samples and coupons from Olay and L'Oreal, but i can't remember how i signed up for them either, given the number of things i fill out or enter. :) haven't gotten any Everstrong but i didn't check the mail yesterday, so who knows?
I haven't gotten any samples from CVS. :( Oh well, I won't complain - as a member of their advisor panel, I frequently get $5, $10, and even $15 EB for doing surveys, so that makes up for it! :)
ReplyDeleteBut as for the Lavera, I am jealous!!! I've been wanting to try that; a Meijer near me has a large line of it but it's a little pricey for drugstore and if my skin doesn't like it (it's sensitive and I have mild rosacea), that's a lot of money down the drain! I've never seen it at a CVS here.
