For new readers, every Wednesday I ask a question and I encourage everyone reading to respond in the comments. It's a great way for me to not only hear directly from you, but also to share ideas that everyone can benefit from! I am constantly amazed by how wonderful and varied the responses are to these questions so please, if you have a minute, share you answer with us! Here's this week's question:
If you use an eyelash curler, which one do you use?
I used a Shu Uemura eyelash curler for years and years until I lost it. Then I purchased an Essence of Beauty mini-curler from CVS, and it actually did a great job. But then I tried the e.l.f. eyelash curler and I really love it, so that's the one I'm using now on a daily basis. How about you? What do you use, and do you love it?
I've used a Shu curler for years but lately I've been using my N.Y.C. curler more. The only thing is the pad that comes with the N.Y.C. curler sucks, so I replaced it with the pad that came with my e.l.f. curler. I know lots of people rave about the e.l.f. curler but it pinched my lids and only curled the center third of my lashes.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into getting the Essence of Beauty mini curler. I've been looking for an inexpensive one because no matter what curler I use, I'm never able to get all the lashes in the inner and outermost corners of my eyes.
I use elf, but I haven't tried a lot of others, so I do not know how well of a job it's really doing. Seems to be ok
ReplyDeleteRight now I use a Covergirl curler, which one of my aunts bought me from Ulta, I believe. I really like it. It's just the right size for my eyelashes and it gets the job done! I've had it for about a year now. A lot of people tell me I should try the e.l.f eyelash curler, and I think I will once I can get my hands on one. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know what's most interesting about this is that I never gave a thought EVER to eyelash curlers unless they pinch. A curler is a curler is a curler...
ReplyDeleteBut when I started reading your blog, it gave me insight on questions I'd never even thought to ask. I'd simply accepted a certain level of performance and assumed that one thing was pretty much like another.
Only within the past six months did I even know that there was such a thing as shu uemera and they are raved about all over the net.
So whatever I have is whatever I had a coupon for. That being the case, probably Revlon. I, too, am waiting impatiently for ELF to get to Target and will add their curler to my "get this NOW" list. And one of these days I might even bite the bullet and try the shu. If, by any chance, I get an opportunity to try one and like it as much as everyone says, the priority for getting it might just skyrocket.
I'm currently using Shu Uemura's eyelash curler. =)
ReplyDeleteI got a cheapie no name one from sasa.com and it has been great.
ReplyDeleteI also currently use Shu Uemura's eyelash curler and am thinking about getting the mini too..
ReplyDeleteI use a Revlon one. The little pad is softer than a lot of the other ones and seems to do a better job on my lashes. I used to have side-swept bangs, but they would always push my left eyelashes down and it was not attractive. I don't think they have quite recovered from years of that abuse because no matter what I do, they WILL NOT curl or stay curled nicely. Some of them curl, but the longest ones stick straight out. =( LOL
ReplyDeleteI use a Target eyelash curler. Great blog, love it very much. :)
ReplyDeleteThe NYC Eyelash Curler!! It's the best!
ReplyDeleteThe first curler I ever tried was from Avon, it was free so I thought what the heck. I'll be honest and admit I didn't really use it that much, until I got into blogging and started watching more and more videos on youtube and everyone suggested curling your eyelashes instead of putting mascara on if you're in a hurry - so I tried it and loved it. Then bought the Shu curler as I have heard so many people give it fantastic reviews!!
ReplyDeleteI have been using the same Maybelline one for years! I don't think they even make the curler (just the pads) anymore because I can never seem to find it.
ReplyDeleteI do have a bunch of other curlers, but that's the one I keep going back to :)
One from the Y100 store! :) But I hardly ever use it.
ReplyDeleteMy first curler was from revlon. I later bought a Shu. I didn't notice a difference between the two. Right now I don't have one because I left it at my house on the east coast and I refuse to buy another since I spent so much on the shu.
ReplyDeleteI dont know why but I have very stubborn, hard to curl, super fine lashes. I have tried Shu, Maybelline, Revlon, ELF, no name brand... The list goes on and on. The only one that works for me is the Tarte curler. It's a mystery why though??
ReplyDeleteI JUST bought the ELF Curler today from Dollar General...heard raves about it and for $1, I have nothing to lose.
ReplyDeleteI had been using the NYC Curler, but it's sorta starting to crap out on me...so maybe this ELF one will be the score I heard it is. =]
Right now I'm loving my ELF eyelash curler that I found at my local Dollar General! For some reason, my lashes resists curling. I've gotten better results from my ELF curler than both the Shu or Revlon.
ReplyDeleteI'm using the Maybelline one since I stole it from my mother LOL.
ReplyDeletelet me just say, I am crazy about eyelashes. My first eyelash curler love was for the revlon one. I bought three or four i believe that i kept losing (i would put em in my bags and they would fall out) so I bought one last one and then someone stepped on it. So i decided to step out of my revlon love bx and i bought an elf one. At first i really liked it but it would kind of make this squeeky noise while i would curl my eyelashes and that scared me and it just seemed to curl my eyelashes unnaturally and idk, i didn't LOVE it. and then the rubber thing kept falling out and i eventually lost it so i gave up. Recently i bought a cheapie one from lucky's and its ok, but i think ill have to buy a revlon one again.
ReplyDeleteRevlon. (need new pads though.) i am a squeezer-who-pumps-the-curler-about-99-times so i go through the rubber pads rather quickly because they tend to slice open after a while. i got hooked on curlers and definition back in high school....and i have been known to keep a plactic curler in my purse to re-curl when my masacara dries because then the curl really shows. my lashes are long but they're stick straight.
ReplyDeleteI love my Shu Uemura but I hate that they don't sell replacement pads. I've tried using other brands but they don't sit in there very well. I clean it and disinfect it but it's definately showing signs of wear. I read on a beauty blog that Shiseido pads would work in there. Anyone have any experience or advice?
ReplyDeleteI knew I could count on you ladies for the scoop on eyelash curlers! I wasn't surprised to see that many of you also love the Shu curler, but I was surprised to see how many of you love the Revlon curler! I think I might have to try that one next if my e.l.f. curler starts to fail me! Thanks a million for all your comments. I LOVE doing the Wednesday question every week specifically because of feedback like this. You guys are the BEST! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm a date late, excuse me! lol. I've been using Revlon curlers for years and I felt like I should step up my game since my lashes are depressingly straight! So I bought a Shu Uemura and I used it..and I couldn't believe I spent like $20 on this! I swear if I didn't have my contact lenses on I wouldn't know if I was picking up my Revlon or my Shu. I ended up returning it and I took a chance on the mechanical e.l.f. curler (the one with the little spring and grips). I am so happy with this one that I ordered 3 more, because I abuse them lol. It curls my lashes quick and I feel like they're strong. The others felt flimsy and I had to hold down for way too long to see a curl.
ReplyDeleteTweezerman Super Curl eyelash curler, it's actually plastic, but the pad is really good
