DVR alert: Klorane debuts on QVC this Friday

One of the most popular posts in the history of Nouveau Cheap is when I did a review of Batiste Dry Shampoo. So since the topic of dry shampoo is one that seems to interest a lot of us, I just wanted to let you know that Klorane is going to debut on QVC this Friday, Jan. 22nd at 7PM Eastern (4PM Pacific).

Klorane is a high-end French haircare brand, but their Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk has definitely achieved cult-status. And knowing QVC, they'll probably have a special try-me deal or easy-pay option or something like that.  So if you can't find Batiste in your area (or maybe Batiste just didn't work for you), I thought you might want to know about this. Also, if you're new to the whole dry shampoo thing, this might be a great way for you to see a live demo and determine if dry shampoo is something you'd like to try!

And if you've already tried Klorane, I'd love to hear from you!

  1. Klorane was very cheap years ago, when it was still availiable in Chile. All of a sudden, it just dissapeared :( .

My mom used to buy a Klorane Walnut shampoo she used on me and my brothers, oh my! I'd pay ANYTHING to smell that again!

  2. I actually loved this dry shampoo. The scent is ridiculously good-- a cross between clean soap and baby powder (oh yeah, I'm sold). It was absolutely lovely. I don't know how most dry shampoos perform but even though my roots felt less gritty, my hair still seemed dirty to me.

I did a review of this a few weeks ago. The details are here: http://beautygurugals.blogspot.com/2010/01/review-klorane-dry-shampoo-with-oat.html

    :* XOXO, R!

  3. I thought that Klorane dry shampoo was the only out there until my mother found the one she gave me for Christmas. It's cheaper, but it works!

  6. Elena: Wow, that walnut shampoo sounds amazing! You make me wish it was still around too! lol. I love anything walnut-scented. :)

Shela: Thanks honey! When I use Batiste, my hair actually looks AND feels cleaner, but it's definitely not anything close to the feeling of just-washed hair. :) Thanks for the link to your review--I had forgotten that you reviewed this!! xo

Gaby: Is the one your mom gave you the one I reviewed (Batiste)? :)

    Anon: thanks so much! :)

Essi: Thanks so much for your support! I will definitely check out your blog today. :)

  7. I currently have the Klorane dry shampoo. Sadly, I don't use it much because it leaves white powder behind on my dark hair. I can brush it out, but there's still a lingering cast. :( If I ever finish this can, I'm gonna go back to using the less expensive Pssst!! (Love the name too!)

  8. K.Lo: You know, I've heard that complaint from several women with darker hair. Fortunately for me, since my hair is light reddish brown, I don't get that cast that you seem to get. But I can totally see how that could happen. Hey, I talked about Psssst a while back here--so you like it? I have yet to try it (the only other dry shampoo I've used is the Batiste from Sally Beauty). Thanks! :)

  9. I tried this years ago on a whim (I'll date myself) I can remember these commercials when I was little about Psssst! spray in shampoo. I looked for it but couldn't find it, long story short Klorane was all I could find. I didn't like it as it seemed to leave a residue behind no matter how much I brushed my hair afterward. Not sure if it was user error or the product though...
