Apparently there are three different products in this line:
The first is the Double Extend Lash Boosting Serum, which is a clear, concentrated serum that you can use alone, or under your own mascara.
The second is Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara, which is a double-ended tube. One end of the tube is the "Serum-Infused Primer" and the other end is the special mascara that gives you "Instant 80% Length".
The third product is a "Special Value" twin-pack called the L'Oreal 24-Hour Lash Boosting Power System which includes both the concentrated serum and the double-ended mascara products.
I just googled these products and discovered that you can pre-order the Double Extend Lash Boosting Serum on Target's website (odd that they don't have it in stock yet) for $12.79 and it will ship to you in 2-4 weeks. Here's a pic of the serum from Target's website:
After more research, I found that you can order the Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara on the Walgreens Website and it retails for $12.99. Here's a pic from Walgreens:
And finally, I found that the "Special Value" 24-Hour Lash Boosting Power System is now available on the Rite Aid website. The retail price is $24.95. Here's a pic from the Rite Aid website:
Personally, I think I would be most inclined to purchase the clear serum on its own and use that with my existing mascaras. It seems like the most economical way to see if this product truly works. What do you think?
Have any of you seen or purchased these new L'Oreal products? I'd love to know your thoughts!
*Clears throat* I guess you don't read my blog or follow me on Twitter because I've had a link to the pre-order on this item on the Walgreens web site in the "Breaking Beauty News" section at the top of my blog for two weeks. I also tweeted about it.
ReplyDeleteAre you on the Walgreens mailing list? That's where I heard about it first.
Heard about the two new "Blast" items from CoverGirl yet? That info is there also. I LOVE drugstore stuff:)
XOXO
*ducks* Don't hate me! lol! I swear I DO read your blog (and love it, or else it wouldn't be on my blog roll!) but the past few weeks have been so crazy with this giveaway series that I haven't been reading *anyone's* blogs like I normally do. I'm sorry! :(
ReplyDeleteOh, and I did hear about those two new CG Blast products (Beauty Junkies Unite was the first blog I saw 'em on a while back) but thank you so much for the info. I swear I'll be a better reader after this giveaway madness ends. lol. Oh, and yes, I'm on the Walgreens mailing list but I haven't been reading that either. I suck! lol. xoxo
I saw this in a UK Blog, I'm so glad it's coming to the U.S. Now I must wait for it to hit the shelves in Canada!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a Latisse substitute. As much as I'd love longer, lusher lashes, this is too much of a risk fr me. I'm already partially blind. I don't need darkened irises or *gasp* no irises!
ReplyDeleteOkay so I'm exaggerating a bit... but it's possible.
oooo, walgreens email list, that's ONE list I'm NOT on, LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Thank you!!!
I have been searching for this for a while, but...couldn't find them!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about the first product a few times on some UK blogs & youtube. If I remember correctly gemsmaquillage on youtube did a review and said it did nothing for her. I'm hoping it will work for me because I need some longer lashes!
ReplyDeletetake heart- i certainly have not seen nor heard of these products. (you West-Coasters seriously get the goods!)
ReplyDeletei too would be most likely to buy the serum on its own (specially since i already have the Beauty Tubes Mascara and the other product seems like another version of that).
i used to have a lash conditioner thingy from Avon that was similar in use to the serum but i don't think it promised to do as much.
count me intrigued!
This product has been out for a while( +3 months) in europe/germany/ausrtia and I can't recommend it. There are quite a few reviews (in german) that all have the same result NOT to buy this product because it makes the lashes even shorter and they "break" more easily. I've noticed that after using it for 2 weeks and then switched to another porduct which is even less expensive and I wish I've never bought it. A waste of money- instead you could have invested in something better.
ReplyDeleteTruth to be told, i don't think this products can make a real difference in lashes, specially that double ended mascara + treatment. Everytime I use a Loreal mascara i end up with several lashes out, so i won't trust anything Loreal in my lashes (no problem in the rest of my face).
ReplyDeleteNow, the real thing when it comes to lash treatment is an Spaniard product called Abéñula, it's a white paste you apply every night and stops lash falling and helps the growing, some people use it as a makeup remover cause it's very gentle on lashes and eyes.
Ashley: Hope you get this in Canada soon! I'd love to know what you think if/when you try any of these. :)
ReplyDeleteShela: You are so funny! :) I know what you mean though--the only type of lash accelerator that I've used is the one by Ardell which was all the rage on the makeup boards a few years ago. Honestly, I didn't stick with it more than a week (I kept forgetting to use it) so I have no idea if it works, but I've heard great things about that one and there was no negative effect to it for the time I used it (my lashes didn't change colors, fall out, etc.). xo
Janine--Yep, get on that Walgreens list, girl! :) xo
Tamara: Glad I could help! :)
Trish: Thanks for the info! I'd love to know what you think if you end up trying one of these. :)
beautifulmonday: Thank you so much for letting me know I'm not alone! So did the Avon product do anything for your lashes? Like I mentioned to Shela, I tried the Ardell one a few years ago but I didn't stick with it so I don't know if it actually works (though I've heard it's pretty good if you use it consistently). xo
amusedPolish: Thank you for all the info! Wow, it sounds like this is doing the exact opposite of what it promises for some people. Yikes! I wonder if the formula is different for the US version. I should try to find out! :)
Elena: It seems we both don't have luck with L'Oreal mascaras (my lashes don't fall out but every single formula I've ever tried smudges and runs like crazy for me). If I try this, I think it will only be the clear serum. That Spanish product you mentioned sounds amazing! :)
I hope the US version is better than the european- well I found a cheaper and better working alternative. The one I'm using now costs only 8€(~12$), the L'oreal costs 14€(~21$)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I want to try out any serum... I think mascara is good enough for me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not very consistent with beauty products so I don't know how it would work out for me either. *Sigh* Even if I did give it a chance, I don't think I'd see results.
ReplyDelete&&& I love my NYX Doll Eyes too much to switch things up (but I've been using my Estee Lauder deluxe samples lately too). I've got too many choices, R! What to do??
♥ Shelly
P.S. Don't forget to read about my new Scotland highlands-inspired tutorial!
Just sighted today at a NYC Rite Aid. Looked like a new display, fully stocked. Probably not something I'm in the market for - I'm more of a Pristige or any cheaper mascara kind of girl. And I still have an unopened tube of Great Lash given out on a Jet Blue flght I took not so long ago. (Odd, right?)
ReplyDeleteThis Rite Aid is on 6th and 13th for any local-ites who are interested but can't find it.
amusedPolish: So glad you've found something else that works for you (and is cheaper!). That's always great! :)
ReplyDeletendoodles: Consider yourself lucky, honey! I'm glad you don't need any extra help, other than mascara. I guess I don't really *need* a serum at this point, but it sure wouldn't hurt. lol! xo
Shela: I have GOT to get my hands on that NYX mascara, I tell you! I've heard so many great things about it. And I will definitely check out your post! xoxo
SuzJ: Thanks for all the great info! This will be SO helpful to my NYC readers! Speaking of Prestige, have you tried My Biggest Lashes yet? Would love to know what you think of it. Oh, and I owe you an email (I haven't forgotten!). xo
Thanks sweetie! You really must get it to know why people have raved about it. When I went back to stock up at InStyle, they'd just gotten a new shipment of the waterproof, the volume and the length formulas.
ReplyDeleteXOXO to you too!
I'm sold! I will get it the next time I'm in Mission Valley, for SURE. xo :)
ReplyDeleteI totally tried the L'oreal system after using Revitalash for over a year... so I wanted to see if it could maintain my already amazing lashes while saving a little bit of money... WRONG!! my lashes lost a little bit of length and what I think is a lot of thickness... I already have returned to my Revitalash because I cannot bare to have inadequate lashes. just wanted to share!! xo
