Alright ladies, here we go! With the holidays upon us, this question is one I really need your help with:
What's your favorite shade of red nail polish?
Every woman's got one, and I want to know yours! I looove OPI I'm Not Really a Waitress, but it's not a true red, right? The closest I've come to my perfect red is Maybelline Express Finish Racy Red, but it's a tad too orange for my skin tone. So let's hear it! What's your go-to red? And please make it affordable--no NARS or Chanel here! :)
Hm. China Glaze Ruby Pumps has been my favorite red for well over a year.
ReplyDeleteThat would probably be Cream Asiatique from MAC sooo nice red :)
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite red for the fall/winter is N.Y.C. Red Stiletto, which is more of a true red creme on me than Essie A-List, which I used to use but looked slightly magenta on me. I found Red Stiletto in a special LE winter display, and the polish is one of their $1.99 quick dry formulas.
ReplyDeleteIn the summertime, though, I wore a lot of N.Y.C. Times Square (from their quick dry line) which is a bright coral-ly, tomato red creme.
There are some cheap Maybelline polishes called Colorama (not sure if they're sold in USA) but they have the most beautiful Raspberry in their range, that's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThis summer, I bought a bottle of OPI's Bastille My Heart...and I think it's pretty much my most favorite shade of red polish EVER. It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLiking rasberry reds at the moment- Revlon Cherries in the Snow is a classic and Barry M's Rasberry... both warm pinky reds and lucious!
ReplyDeleteMy perfect red is Essie Fishnet Stockings
ReplyDeletePetites's Rockstar Red...it's the perfect balance of yellow and blue undertones, goes great with any skin-tone.
ReplyDeleteI only have one red color nail polish and it is the Essie Tomboy No More. When you look at the bottle, you think - darky vampy maroony red. NO, it is BRIGHT RED! It's really pretty though but it'll be a red that attracts attention, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Essie's new LE red shade- Lollipop. Beautiful color, great brush and dries really fast too. ^-^
ReplyDeleteOPI Conquistadorable Color for me! Also Skin Food's (a Korean brand) Mai Tai.
ReplyDeleteAs always, you ladies are giving me sooo many ideas! Thank you, thank you! I can't wait to look at swatches of all of these, because I swear they all sound *gorgeous*. I'll post pics of any I end up buying. xo
ReplyDeleteChina Glaze Ruby Pumps. It's perfect paired with China Glaze Emerald Sparkle for festive red and green Christmas nails.
ReplyDeletei don't wear many reds but i did paint them red the other day and i used sally hansen Hard as Nails Extreme Wear "cherry red"...maybe that's what papaya bunny is referring to?
ReplyDeleteI'm Not Really A Waitress is my favorite nail polish of all time.
ReplyDeleteI don't wear true, bright reds often (I'm more of a burgundy/bordeaux kind of girl)... but around the holidays I like China Glaze Ruby Pumps. I also really like Diamond Cosmetics' new shade called Cherry Tobacco - it's dark, not a bright red, but it does have a red shimmer that makes it just glow.... plus, it's only $2. And one of my all time favorite bordeaux colors is Zoya 'Paris.' :)
ReplyDeleteI like Revlon "Red Hot Tamale"
ReplyDeleteThe one I like right now is fairly new to me because I acquired it in a Dollar Tree haul. But I still think it's one of the prettiest reds I've ever seen on me. It's old school Sally Hansen New Lengths in Red Creme. It's beautiful and applies like a dream.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Have you seen some of the Dollar Tree haulage going on @ MUA lately??? It. Is. Insane. Older, hard to find polishes by SH, Maybelline & L'Oreal. I rather dejectedly stopped by my Dollar Tree, expecting to find nothing because my DT sucks eggs. I nearly did a dance in the aisle when I saw they had tons of old SHs! I combed through every row of them and came away with 21, I think. Probably one of the happiest days of my nail polish life. They also had a bunch of SH Natural Butter Lip Shine glosses, which are AWESOME.
In 2061 when I'm 80 years old, I'll probably still remember that wonderful day when I visited my usually crappy Dollar Tree and found so many SH goodies. ^_^
Sorry, that was pretty OT. You know I tend to tangent. :-P
Thank you so much, ladies, for all the great new comments! I am loving reading these and I can't wait to look these up and see what they look like. I now how so many new shades of red to investigate--I can't thank you enough! xo
ReplyDeleteAnd femputer--What?!?!!? Are you freaking serious? Why have I not heard about this? I've got one foot out the door right now...I'll let you know what I find! Thank you, thank you, sweetheart!!! xo
My fave it China Glaze's Ruby Pumps that I discovered this year, before that it was OPI's I'm Not Really a Waitress. I've got my family addicted to it too!!
ReplyDeletei'm not a huge red fan, i feel like a harlot or something wearing them *politically incorrect* haha. but i love china glaze red stallion from the rodeo diva collection. it's a more metallic looking red but i love it! as for cremes, i would say maybelline crimson. it's simple and cheap and easy to find :)
ReplyDeleteR--Please do! Even though I managed to get a decent haul myself, I still like living vicariously through others! ^_^ I hope you find some gems!
