My long-overdue BeautyTicket.com review!

I was so caught up in my BeautyTicket.com giveaway for the last few weeks that I didn't have a chance to share with you my review of this faaabulous website, so here it is, finally!

In case you're not aware, BeautyTicket.com offers its customers high-end, premium makeup brands for pennies on the dollar from companies such as Stila, Smashbox, Sue Devitt, Too Faced, Estee Lauder, Delux Beauty, China Glaze and the list goes on. The deep discounts they pass on to their customers are unreal, and some would say too good to be true. But I'm here to tell you that yes, it's unreal, but it's 100% true! In fact it's a little mind-blowing :)

For my first purchase, a friend and I went in together on an order. She purchased a Smashbox lipstick in "Flash" (retail $20, BeautyTicket.com price, $4.99) and I ordered the Tokidoki for Smashbox Limited Edition Eyeshadow Quad in "Modella" (which as you can see here was $30 when it was still available at Sephora. BeautyTicket.com price? $6.99). Well, we received the order THE NEXT DAY, if that tells you anything about their customer service (head's up, Cali girls, you'll probably get your order next-day as well since BeautyTicket.com is located in CA. Yay!).

My friend called me over to her house to get my goodies and I was simply stunned that she literally called me 24 hours after placing the order. Talk about instant gratification. Anyway, I was super pleased with the quad itself--I mean, look at how adorable this thing is. The box is just too cute for words, and look at the designs on the mirror. Hello! Oh, and the colors are stunning and so perfect for spring and summer. I've owned a lot of Smashbox eyeshadows in the past so I know how luxurious this is going to be when I apply it...but of course I'm too busy coveting it at the moment to actually use it.

Moving on to order number two. Well my friend was so pleased with her Smashbox lippie that she immediately wanted to place an order for 5 more tubes (you can do this pretty easily when you're only paying $4.99 per tube and it's a holy grail color for you. And BTW, this color looks like an even prettier version of MAC "O" on her.) So of course you know I had to jump on her second order and just get one teeny, tiny little product for myself, right? I mean, when you're ordering with a friend and you get to split the tax and shipping, it's just too good to pass up (shipping is low anyway though, at $6.95, but it's even better when you're splitting that in half. Oh and did I mention that I also have a 10% off code for Nouveau Cheap readers?)

So I scanned the website again and decided on the Smashbox powder blush in "Proof Sheet" which is a gorgeous shade of peachy-pink (yeah, I know...I need another peachy-pink blush like a hole in the head but hey, it's a weakness). This retails for $25 and I got it for $6.99 (sorry no link, but it's now sold out on BeautyTicket.com). This reminds me: I want to stress that if you see something you really love, get it NOW, because chances are it will be gone soon. They purchase overstock so when something sells out, there's no replenishing.

Well once again, my friend called me about 24 hours after placing the order to tell me that the package had arrived. MAN, I love that. But this time, because she went so gaga with the Smashbox lippies, we had ordered enough to get the free gift w/ purchase! Whoo hoo! My friend automatically gave it to me since, well, I was the one to turn her on to BeautyTicket.com :) And here's the freaky part: The gift with purchase was a full size Delux Beauty lippie (Um, what? These retail for $18!) and the color "Delbert" is a sheer red. How did BeautyTicket.com know of my obsession with sheer red lipcolors?? This is quite possibly the best GWP I've ever received.

So of course my Smashbox blush was the exact shade I had hoped it would be and I'm just tickled that I paid the same price for this as I would have paid in the drugstore for a Revlon or L'Oreal blush.

If you're in the market for some high-end beauty products but your wallet is on a drugstore-only budget, BeautyTicket.com is your own personal makeup oasis. It's one of the best kept secrets in the beauty world at the moment, but I have a feeling it's not going to be a secret for much longer...

  1. Wow, that Tokidoki palette looks nice! I wanted to write a review too but my camera memory card reader stopped working and I didn't wanna do it without pictures. I live in NY and my package from them got to me in only two days!

  2. Smashbox is made right by me, and they have it at the Nordstrom Rack all the time. I've never tried any of their stuff, though. Thanks for the info!

  3. Hi Kitty! Thanks, I am loving this quad and cannot wait to use it. WOW, you got your package in NY in two days? That's amazing. I'm looking forward to reading (and seeing) everything you got, so I hope you get a new memory card soon :)

  4. Hi Kathleen! You're so welcome! I have to say that Smashbox is one of my favorite higher-end brands. Their eyeshadows go on so nicely and the colors are just gorgeous. I also love their lipsticks and glosses. Oh, and a lot of people love their cream liners (I haven't had luck with them, sadly) and of course their famous primer. I'm jealous that you get a lot of their products at your Nordstrom Rack! :)

  5. Just wonder whether shipping cost was reasonable for you, as they said shipping to Canada is $24 flat rate. I can't persuade myself paying that much

  6. Hey Halifax! Yes, very reasonable ($6.95). I'm sorry it's so much to Canada :(

But like I told another fellow Canadian reader, there are some outstanding Canadian companies I wish I could order from but the shipping is way too much to the US. So we're almost even :)

  7. Which companies were they? Canada Post's pricing is not very great, I know.

  8. Sure! Here are few I that I love:

    http://www.fruits-passion.com/
(I've loved F&P for over 10 yrs now. There is a link for US but the products ship from Canada)

    http://www.mmucosmetics.com/
(have you ever seen a bigger scent menu? LOVE this site!)

    http://skindecent.com/
(Looove their Body Oasis shower gel and all of their scents are amazing)

And apparently there's a fantastic brand of false eyelashes that you can only get at a Canadian drugstore called Shoppers Drug Mart. I think they're called "Quo" lashes.

I know I'm forgetting some...but see, there's lots of things I wish I could get my hands on here, but too expensive to ship :)

Oh! I almost forgot! Did you know that Bath & Body Works just started shipping to Canada? I think this is a very recent change for them :)

  9. Geez, half of the brands you listed, I haven't even heard of. I know Quo very well, it's a house brand of Shoppers (where I go every week to stalk the cosmetics section) :-) BBW only has stores in big cities where I'm not, but I think I saw a F&P store near me. Don't know whether shipping would be cheaper if I shop for you and mail them. If you need anything, let me know :-)

  10. Hi Halifax! Thanks so much for the kind offer. I'm having enough trouble not ordering from US sites at the moment, but I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future :)
