The moment I saw these, they instantly reminded me of some of the duochrome Color Tattoos in the Summer 2013 Limited Edition Collection (see my swatches of those here--they are fun when worn over black). Not exact dupes, but very similar. I'd say that if you missed out on the Summer 2013 Color Tattoos, you might find that these will be a nice alternative (again, they're really cool when worn over black).

UPDATE: There were some rumors that there were possibly some eyeshadow quads and Color Sensational lipsticks in this collection, but I have received confirmation directly from Maybelline that this is NOT the case. There are no eyeshadow quads or CS lipsticks in this collection.

ReplyDeleteThat blue eyeliner is nice (the "Blast of Blue" one - I love my blues) but otherwise nothing is really too interesting to me. I got the Color Tattoos last year so I don't see any point in getting these, the Color Whispers don't look very unique, I'm allergic to the Color Elixirs, and the face/nail products are cute but I'm not really into those things to buy them from every collection so...better for my wallet!

ReplyDeleteI think I'm in the minority but Maybelline is finally starting to lose some steam for me, which is sad because over the past 6 months or so they could do no wrong in my book. I'm so disappointed that the Color Tattoos are more or less repromotes... they may not be exactly identical but they look pretty close. And it wasn't that those shades weren't good but there is so much unexplored territory with the Color Tattoos *cough*mattes*cough* that seeing so many similar shades is boring.

If the new collection is called Bleached Neons then why not make the color tattoos neons!!!! That would have been awesome to see a pink, blue, green in neon.

ReplyDeleteI think I've been exhausted of color tattoos. I got two of the ones they released for spring and I think those will be my last for awhile. The collection looks nice but I'm not really interested in the color elixirs or the bronzers. The nail polishes look nice but I never wear neon colored nail polish so I'll probably pass on those. But those eyeliners, I'll definitely check those out whenever the collection gets here, but that will probably be awhile considering we JUST got the spring collection.
