Spotted: Walgreens eos dupe holiday-themed flavors (and a sale to go with them)

So I just checked my archives and my very first eos lip balm review was back in 2009 when the brand was still pretty new to drugstores. Can you believe eos has been around so long that it has officially spawned dupes? Time sure flies!

A couple of months ago, I posted about the new Walgreens lip balm that pretty much looks like an eos lip balm. At that time, I only knew about the Watermelon flavor but, thanks to reader Kaitlyn, I want to let you know that there are some fun holiday-themed flavors now  hitting Walgreens (and there's a sale to go with them):

Walgreens Lip Balms with Vitamin E and Aloe
(retail: $2.99 each at Walgreens)

Walgreens Lip Balms in Watermelon, Berry Frost, Candy Cane and Sugar Cookie

I am all about Sugar Cookie and Candy Cane. Kaitlyn said that she really liked the taste of Candy Cane, and that these balms have more slip than the eos balms. A few other readers have mentioned that they like these as well, while others have said they prefer the eos formula. I'm very curious to try these for myself!

Oh, I almost forgot the best part: Thanks to reader Judy, who kindly let us know that these lip balms are BOGOFREE  at Walgreens now through November 27th. Reader Allison also mentioned this to me the other day, so I'm guessing that if you don't see a sign on the display, you can take them to the register and they'll come up BOGOFREE in the system (double-check to make sure before you buy them though!).

Do you already own any of these eos dupes? What do you think of them? I think one of you mentioned that Rite Aid also has eos dupes now, but I can't remember which one of you told me that (if it was you, please leave a comment here--I would love to know the flavors that are available at Rite Aid..I haven't seen them at my local Rite Aids yet).

Thanks so much, Kaitlyn, for the great sighting and pics! And thanks to readers Judy and Allison for the heads-up about the BOGOFREE sale!

  2. I've also seen dupes at Big Lots on occasion, though I'm not sure if it's the same Revo brand. However, I don't plan to pick any up anytime soon. I am not going to pay almost $3 for a lip balm when I can get something just as tasty for about $1 from Chapstick.

    1. $3 is not a lot when you compare the quality and quantity

    2. I'm sure $3 is worth it to the people who love the quality and flavors of the original EOS balms. However, what I meant in my comment is that I am not paying that much for a dupe of an EOS product, when the original retails for around $3, also!

  3. Philosophy is trying to dupe it too for a whopping $15!!!

    1. I just caved and bought that the other day at Sephora while picking up my b-day VIB gift. It's called Pink Almond Candy and it is LE. I wouldn't really call it a "dupe." Sure the balm is spherical in shape, but with the clear hard plastic dome top and fully flat bottom it doesn't really, really compare. On the other hand, I've gotta admit that EOS did come to mind when I spotted them. It's good stuff, I wish the scent was stronger though, it leaves the lips with a hint of milky pale pink. Ooo, btw anyone out there who has been missing the disco'd Carol's Daughter Almond Cookie perfume, it is back (LE) and available at Macy*s so far in a set containing a small shower gel and lotion as well as the perfume!!! :)

  5. Watermelon is AMAZING!! I just found it recently on a end cap side display. It smells like a fresh slice. Its a favorite amongst my hoard. :) I will be on the hunt for these. Any ideas as to where these are placed in store.

Really Liz philosophy is jumping on the band wagon. Boo. There is no way I would spend that much with the WALG smelling and tasting so delicious!

    1. In my store they were in the front part of the beauty section when you first walk in, where they put all of the newest collections.

    2. In my store they are in the back near the cold remedies, a whole lipbalm section! Have only seen watermelon and berry so far aand one flavor at Rite Aid I forget now. Definitely gonna get if they have more slip than EOS, that's my main issue.

    3. I walked up and down each aisle at my store and finally found them sitting on the counter by the photo lab!

  6. The sugar cookie and candy cane are coming home with me for sure! I have the watermelon one and I love it , so I hope I love these just as much.

  7. These sound amaze! I love these but I can't have them. My boyfriend gets an allergic reaction when I kiss him wearing other lip balms and my dog digs through my purse to play with/chew these. Lol

    1. Omg my dog ate two of them! Luckily I decided I hated them already and got a laugh out of it. Glad they were natural because she only left four empty halves. They must have smelled good and then she thought, "ball!" LoL (and thankfully have no color, unlike the time she tried to eat a red NYC metro gloss. White dog + red gloss = caught red handed, er, nosed and big mess)

    2. My dog ate mine as well. At least he'll have super soft lips foreva

  8. These are NOT a dupe! The ingredients are comply different!
EOS has great, NATURAL ingredients. These have 3 different forms of petrochemicals, along with a bunch of other crap...

    1. I used "dupe" here to describe the fact that the packaging is very similar (just like how there are UD naked "dupes" but the formulas of the actual eyeshadows may have very little in common). Hope that clears it up! And yes, I'm aware that the ingredients are not the same. Thanks!

  9. I have the Watermelon one and am SO excited that they're making more! I actually like them better than my beloved EOS. I feel like the formula on EOS used to be great, but the newer flavors smell so waxy. MUST FIND THESE.

  11. I just saw these at my Walgreens and I wish I had checked if the other flavors were BOGO. I have to go back now lol. I saw them in a clear plastic display jar (as shown above) on the counter at the beauty checkout.

  14. How do these compare in scent and flavor to eos. Some folks here are saying they're not as scented, but I'm wondering about the taste, too.

    1. I have seen a lot of these special holiday flavored Lip Ball displays at Walgreens on the cosmetic counter! they are yummy tasting and smell great!

    2. The smells and scents are stronger and more delicious than EOS!

    3. The Walgreens (Revo) balms are more scented/flavored than EOS, IMO. I have tried the Candy Cane and the Sugar Cookie and enjoy them both. The Candy Cane gives you the tingly minty sensation and the Sugar Cookie reminds me of rum cake. I love them!

  15. I bought two tonight: candy cane and sugar cookie and I've gotta say, the candy cane one is perfectly minty and refreshing on my lips. It even tastes good. LOVE IT.

    1. Alright. After using the Candy Cane one for a few hours tonight, it's kind of drying and doesn't moisturize for too long. I'm disappointed.

  21. I have sugar cookie berry peppermint and a strWberry (non holiday in reg lip display w blistex etc ). I like these better than the eos balms. I love that the balm has a flat top that fits your lips perfectly

  22. After all the hoopla about EOS while in Target I bought the ornament 3pk for $7.99 while it is $9.99 at Walgreens.I figured the price was good enough to try. I do love the sweet mint. Now I want these simply because of the flavors. I asked the beauty advisor where they were and she only showed me the strawberry one. I really hope I can find them at one of my Walgreens especially before the sale ends. Can't beat that.

    1. They are so cute that I had to try the Walgreens ones. Since they were bogo free I got all the holiday flavors plus a watermelon. My faves are Candy Cane & Sugar Cookie. Now I need back ups. I kinda prefer them over EOS.

    2. Same! I like the vanilla and i personally love the tingly feeling my lips Getty when I put on the mint.suddenly mint has weak antimicrobial properties from the menthol.but any ways,i love eos.great stuff.
