Review, swatches and comparisons: L'Oreal Limited Edition Infallible Eyeshadow in Blinged & Brilliant

I (as well as probably many of you) am a sucker for shimmery champagne eyeshadows. I feel like I can never have enough, so when I finally spotted the L'Oreal Limited Edition Diamonds Collection last week, I ran straight for Blinged & Brilliant and now it's mine...all mine!

L'Oreal Limited Edition Infallible Eyeshadow in Blinged & Brilliant
(retail: $7.99, 0.12 oz)

Keep reading for swatches and comparisons...

Prior to seeing this eyeshadow in person, I had seen some beautiful swatches online, but I had also seen some swatches that made this color look like it had a lot of pink in it (which is scary for me because I can't wear pinks near my eyes). Thank GOODNESS that in, in real life, there's really not much pink in this color at all.

I would describe Blinged & Brilliant as a metallic champagne. It's got a peachy undertone but there is also a gold highlight in this color that really seem to come out at certain angles. All in all, it's gorgeous and I can see it working quite well on just about every skintone:

Here it is next to two of my other favorite champagne eye colors:

As you can see, Urban Decay Sin is cooler, while Milani Champagne Toast is deeper. L'Oreal Blinged & Brilliant has a metallic finish (the other two colors are shimmers). I think you can better see the difference in finish in this blurry photo:

My photos don't really do this one justice, I'm afraid. In real life, Blinged & Brilliant is very true to its name. If you're looking for an intense metallic champagne shadow, I don't think you'll find one prettier than this at the drugstore.

The texture of Blinged & Brilliant, as with the other Infallible shadows I own, is smooth and creamy and a dream to blend. There can be a tiny bit of fallout during application but it's really not bad at all (and I'm a whiner when it comes to fallout so if I can deal with it, you definitely can!).

And as with the other Infallible shadows I own, once this baby sets, it's ON. No fading or creasing all day and into the night for or me, and that's without primer (I don't ever feel the need to use primers with my Infallible shadows and this one's no exception).

I still prefer my Milani Shadow Eyez pencil in Champagne Toast when it comes to wearing a champagne on my lower lash line and/or inner corners of my eyes (see the second picture of me in this post to see how I wear Champagne Toast on my lower lashline) because it's darker and more compatible with my skintone in that capacity.  But for a lighter champagne shade for the lid or as a highlight shade, I think Blinged & Brilliant is a must-have if you're drawn to metallic champagne shades. (Tip: it's absolutely stunning when worn with Urban Decay Toasted in the crease/outer "v".)

Do you own Blinged & Brilliant? What do you think of it? What's your favorite way to wear it? I'd love to hear from you!

  3. That looks gorgeous! It's too close to UD's Sin (which I have like 3 of) to make me run out and buy it.

  5. It's funny how different things look on different people, sin looks PINK PINK on me, good, but like bam pink.

    1. I was going to say the same thing!! UD sin looks straight up pink against my pale skin so I'm surprised how neutral it can look on others.

  6. With the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige, these two would be the ultra-creaseproof-waterproof-BULLETproof duo xD I want both but limited edition displays are so hard to come by! Boo!

I've been hunting after the Color Tattoo & W&W Where's the party display for a month now but every time I spot one, it's always empty! And now they're taking away the displays since it's been so long.. heartbroken..

  9. Ahhh! I saw this at my Walgreens & passed, thinking it would not be flattering - it looked pink-y brown in the store's lighting. Now I must go back and get it! Your review is wonderful; thank you G!

  12. I don't own any Infallible eye shadows, so I'm wondering, would you say this is a good substitute for the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige?
