I have recently purchased some of the new colors of Maybelline's Color Whispers from Summer 2013. However, beware, some of the colors seem to be identical to older ones with different names. For instance, Nude Shimmer (250) is identical to One Size Fits Pearl (55). Also, Ravishing Pink (255) is identical to Lust for Blush (25). I Crave Coral (260) seems to be the most original new color. It seems to be a more orange version of Pin Up Peach (30), which i quite like. the only color I did not purchase was Sienna Sands (265), so I am not sure how this compares.

New "Flamed Out" mascara, Clean Whipped Cream foundation, new balms that look like dupes for the Lipslicks they already have, Flamed out shadow pencils and pots. Only got the mascara which is very nice so far. I can take pics if you don't have some already.

ReplyDeleteI just picked up Sally Hansens Hot Lava yesterday and want to tell you the deal I got! At Rite Aid if you have the 10%-20% AND find a tear pad coupon for $2/1 (on the display) you can score the for $4 and some change! It's much easier to swallow $4 then $8 :) Oh and hint for the tear pad is it's placed really close to where the actual polish is and if the display in your store is high (like mine was) tip-toe it! Lol

DeleteJust an update on the Spring LE Maybelline 24 hr lipcolor:
ReplyDeletePicked up the red and the raspberry. The red is the same translucent formula as the violet and coral.. very pretty and wearable, and it's a neutral red. The raspberry on the other hand is completely opaque and super bright.. very much in line with the Vivids collection. I really wish they would label the colors with the formula.. I've found the same is true for the permanent line.. while I like most of them, you never really know what you are going to get until you put it on for the first time.
I just got home from hauling the L'Oreal LE Infallibles in the display with the Gellie polishes. Mon Cherie seems to be the coral that was Europe-only last year. Strawberry Blonde looks like a duochrome light pink/bright pink and Dive Right In is a slightly duochrome aqua. Both have champagne colored flakes in them. The Gellie polish everyone thought was black is actually blackberry purple. I'm about an hour south of Phoenix, AZ.

ReplyDeleteUrban decay recently updated their sale page on the website, there are some great deaths! Eyeshadows for $4-$6, lip gloss for $6, cream blush for $9 and their setting sprays (old packaging) are $14! There are some other items as well these are just the ones I found to be most exciting!

ReplyDeleteFound the new Sinful Shines today, 1233 In the Limelight looks to be a dupe to Zoya Josie. 1229 Skinny Dipping I thought to be a dupe of Zoya Rocky, but since I swatched it I'm not sure. (hurry up and get here, Zoya order! lol) 1238 Rendevous is identical to Sinful Be Happy. Any other time I would have been disappointed, but I love Be Happy, so a back up is ok!

I saw the L'Oreal Versailles Romance collection at Target. I thought this was interesting because Target doesn't normally carry the LE stuff for any brand that I'm aware of.

ReplyDeleteHeads up to those looking for the LE 2013 Color Tattoos- I found all 8 shades at my WalMart last night (and we NEVER get LE stuff there- ever!) they were NOT in a display of Maybelline- they had multiples of each color (3 or 4 apiece) and they were mixed in with the regular old Color Tattoos, no signage at all! Best of all they were only $5.64 each!

I spotted an Elf nail polish display today in a CVS, of all places. I did a little googling and can't seem to find anything about it. There were six shades, all without names or even numbers and they retailed for $1.99. One was a Hidden Treasure (old version) dupe. There was also a yellow creme, mint creme, hot pink (I think) creme, copperish red glitter, and a lilac creme with shimmer. I have some display pics if you want them.

ReplyDeleteI saw a new display by sinful colors at walgreen called Sinful Shines. It was completely separate from the Sinful Colors display and the bottles were branded Sinful Shines. The polishes claimed to have a super shiny nylon type texture. The display also said exclusively at Walgreens.

DeleteHas anyone else had problems with the new Sinful Shine polishes not drying? I painted my nails with Alfresco this morning, and this evening I was playing with a friends toddler, and it smeared off my nail like it had just been painted! (the surface felt dry to the touch) I haven't tried any of the other colors I bought yet, so maybe it is just that one? It's such a pretty color too :(

I found Julie G. polishes at my Big Lots today for just $1 - Rite Aid does not exist where I live so this was really super duper exciting for me! I believe the colors are from a holiday collection. They were mixed in with all the Sinfuls you've previously posted about. I also found a few stray bottles of ma.nish.ma, CQ and Petties, NONE of which I've seen in person before!

DeleteFound the LE Color Tattoos in Waves of White, Blue Paradise, Icy Mint, and Shady Shores mixed in at random with permanent shades in a free standing display at my local Walmart (Lake Charles LA). They also had the LE Color Goes Electric Quads (all but the neutral one) on clearance for $6. Just FYI for anyone who likes the Masterdrama pencil liners.. the LE colors from that collection in blue and purple are quite different from the permanent shades.. and the LE purple is much more pigmented than the permanent one.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone wanting to try the new Covergirl whipped foundation.. the cap only lists a shade number.. but if you look on the back they do have the shade name printed in very small letters. I have found the shades among various CG foundations to be quite similar.. may be of help if you are trying to decide what shade you are.

ReplyDeletePicked up three of the Charlote Ronson All I Need eyeshadow quads on clearance at Sephora today for $11 each, regular price $22. These are very nice..very high quality, smooth and super pigmented with some very unique colors (one of my favorites was a light pink with green shimmers) as well as some gorgeous neutrals. A lot of product too very large pans in a nice heavy compact. I believe there were 5 or 6 color options.

ReplyDeleteWhile the cap of the jar only lists a shade number, there are shade names on the bottom of the jar in very small print. Buff Beige which matches me in most CG products matched in this one as well. Goes on very smooth and is medium buildable pigmentation. A little goes a long way. Sets quickly to a matte finish. Does not last though.. after a couple of hours goes to a weird combination of dewy underneath with a matte on top and starts to break down.. after only five hours or so was breaking down very badly in the center of my face. I do have combo skin.. but I planned ahead and wore oil control primer and powdered which usually allows me to wear a more dewy foundation without any problems. Even my forehead where I had Milk of Magnesia which keeps me oil free all day was dewy and sticky. It also transferred badly once it started to break down. I tried to blot gently on the go in desperation while I was out and wound up with most of it on the tissue, lol. After seven hours I basically had no foundation on the center of my face. Looked very odd since my concealer was still going strong.
If you are looking for a matte foundation the Outlast 3 in 1 is much better, and if you want a moisturizing dewy one the Tone Rehab is a much better bet. This one is going back.
The Walgreens I work at, marked down the Sally Hansen Gem Crush polishes. The entire line is 50% off, clearance. They are ringing up $3.49. I know lots of us thought they were some awesome glitters, so..just a heads up!

ReplyDeleteWalgreens has a ton of new clearance... and a bunch of B1G1@50% sales which are working on top of the clearance prices. I bought a bunch of the CG simply ageless concealers in my shade (my HG, not sure if they are being discontinued.. I hope not) that were regularly $12 for $6 for the first and $3 for the second. Also on the same deal were the Maybelline color explosion palettes $5 for the first and $2.50 for the second. Jordana eyeshadow duos were also on clearance for $2. They also had a permanent ELF display set up, with a nice selection of products.. almost as large as my local Target's display but not quite.
Both my Rite Aids had the 6 color LE CT displays (which also include two LE masterdrama liners which nobody seems to be talking about: another navy and a taupe) and all Maybelline eye products except for two (the shadow quads and a mascara) are B1G1@50%.. I got all except for cool crush because it appeared to be almost exactly the same color as blue paradise which I had already purchased elsewhere. The quads and mascara are on sale for $5 which is half price.
While discussing the LE CT's I wanted to mention Icy Mint.. it's gotten negative reviews and it's not much to speak about alone on the eye.. but I wore it today and it does make a good base for mint, pale greens, or light aquas which is kind of hard to find. So if you plan to wear those colors a lot this spring it may be worth picking up.
Finally my Dollar Tree had a large selection of CG eyeslicks pencil duos.. there were two purples (warm and cool) and a pink (all nice wearable spring shades)and each color was paired with a champagne. These do make decent bases (I had bought a couple of others previously and have no problems with them when worn over primer and topped with a powder shadow) and at $0.50 each are worth picking up IMO.

Heads up for midwesterners (Is that even a word??) Meijer just released their beauty book with A TON of coupons. All the coupons are also available digitally via mPerks, so you don't need the book to get the discounts. You can use the coupons on sale items (currently Revlon colorstay products are $2 off, CoverGirl blast eye and lip products and jumbo gloss balms are $1 off, and Neutrogena products are $2 off). Also, Meijer is a great place to look for limited edition collections. People don't think to look there. Last fall, I found a completely untouched Project Runway collection display about 2 weeks after the products had disappeared everywhere else.

DeleteThere's a fantastic deal at Rite Aid this week, if you spend $30 on nail polish you get $10 extra bucks (G, you posted about this) and if you spent $30 on P&G (incl. Covergirl) you get $10 extra bucks, and Covergirl is BOGO free.
ReplyDeleteEverything combines. So, if you buy six CG nail polishes at $6 each, you get 3 at $6, and 3 at $3 (half off). Total spent is $27. Then you can buy another nail polish (or two), or buy a $3 P&G product plus a $3 nail polish (which is what I did).
Then, you've spent your $30 on each - except you only spent around $30 total - and you get $20 extra bucks back. So, you 6 nail polishes - retail $36 - for $10 - plus your extra products.
It's a fantastic deal if you want to buy some CG nail polish!
I found the Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat and Sugar Coat textured nail colors today in two Duane Reade stores in NYC. They were in separate displays, each have eight colors to their collection, and there was also a new (new to me at least) Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops in both displays. I picked up three of the Sugar Coat colors and six of the Fuzzy Coat (I have the Nails Inc. version and they look identical to me, although I have only tried the Nails Inc. version.)

I went to Walgreens today and came across a new Sinful Colors display called "Suit up with Haute". I don't think any of the shades were new, but I thought there were a couple I have heard people really like but have a hard time finding: Unicorn, nirvana, boom boom, hazard, star fish, open seas, casablanca and go go girl.

ReplyDeleteI was shopping at CVS today and spotted a display of elf nail polishes. This is the first time I've seen elf at CVS. They are in new (to me) bottles and labeled as containing vitamin E and being fast drying. Most importantly the holographic flakie shade is included! I think it was called pixie dust? The polishes in the display aren't named. I picked up the flackie (seems to be a perfect Essie shine of the times dupe) for $1.99.

ReplyDeleteI found 5-packs of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes at Big Lots for $8. The packs seemed pretty random. Mine had Dorien Grey, Delphinium, Casting Call, Crinoline and Navy Baby.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to mention that there's a Physician's Formula display in CVS that have 2-packs of mascaras (for the price of one). It included all varieties of PF mascaras. With the $6 discount and the $3 off print-out, I bought two jumbo lash organic mascaras (in the shiny green tube) for $1.49 plus tax!
ReplyDeleteI found some Phsycian Formula cosmetics at Ross. I got the Hazel Eye pop eyeshadow, two medium bronzers from the organic line (came on a one pack), there were the baked mineral eyeshadows (did not get that), each item was $3.99 each.
ReplyDeleteI saw a new "Denim Shades" L'Oreal counter display yesterday at my Duane Reade. Everything was in shades of blue (of course!), but the only new items were two Limited Edition infallible mechanical eye liner shades (in Navy (541) and Teal (561)), and a Limited Edition blue-shaded mascara (I can't remember what it was though - so sorry)!

DeleteHi G!! I have a cool dupe for you!!! In the Naked palette and a wet n wild shadow. I am sorry if you already know this dupe but I thought I'd tell you anyways. So the Wet n Wild 2nd crease color in the Comfort Zone palette vs. Urban Decay "Creep". They are similar but UD has blue shimmer and WNW has golden shimmer. But they are both dark shimmering gunmetal colors. Hopefully that helped!! Thanks G!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy local Target had an end cap with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri twins (color+clear) marked down to less than $3. These are summery-bright shades. I bought a lilac but there were turquoise and spring green shades, plus some nudes. There were also lots of e.l.f. Beauty Books and other packaged kits. I got an eyelash curler, mascara, and liner kit for less than $6 but there were also lots of shadow palettes and other kits.

ReplyDeleteToday at CVS, a worker was in the process of putting the 50% and 75% off stickers on the cosmetics. I noticed that several Sally Hasen crackle polishes were on 50% off clearance along with the entire stock of Orly polishes. Certain Spolied polishes were 75% off along with select Rimmel products (their dark purple Kate Moss lipstick and "black" lip gloss along with the Glam Eyes HD in 002 English Oak). Several products from Covergirl were 50% (certain darker shades of foundations, the LashBlast LUXE mascara, the color coustum quads, the mascara in the yellow, skinny tube, the NatureLuxe lip balms). More will probably be on clearance since the worker was only about half way down the beauty department marking products.

ReplyDeleteAt Shoprite today, there was a clearance bin of makeup for $0.50! It included Essie nail polishes, the yellow CoverGirl LashBlast, the old Revlon lipglosses and "JustBitten" stains, Almay smart shade makeup of various kind, and all manner of Covergirl natureluxe items. I don't know if other Shoprites are doing that, but it's certainly worth a look if you can walk away with several hundred dollars worth of products for under $20.

ReplyDeleteWith all the new duochrome CT's, eye crayons, shimmer dusts, etc (plus my recent addiction to Jessie's Girl pigments)coming out lately I've been looking for a nice matte crease color I can keep handy in my makeup tray to go along with them without having to take out another palette. I think I found the perfect thing.. in an odd place. I got a coupon for Milani products from the red box on my last trip to CVS.. I was browsing the display to see if there was anything I liked when the brow kit caught my eye. It has two matte browns, light and dark, and a shimmery highlight in one small compact. Perfect neutral colors and super smooth and pigmented, very nice quality (they seriously need to make more shadows in that formula). Besides the obvious use for brows it's like an "eye look in a box" just add whatever gorgeous lid color strikes your fancy. It's also great for a basic brown traditional eye or brown smokey eye and would be perfect for travel.

ReplyDeleteDiscovered today that my local Albertsons grocery store (which I normally never shop at because it is on the opposite side of town, but happened to stop into today) carries NYX. It was not a huge display but carried a lot of basics, including all the single shadows. No other store within 100 miles of me sells it.. so it was a great find.
ReplyDeleteSpotted some of the holiday LE Softlips packs for 1.50 at biglots today. Picked up Jack Frosting, and they had a Vanilla/Spice pack as well. Also spotted a few of the Sinful Colors Striping polishes for 99 cents each. Unfortunately, all the nail polish had been thickly covered in polish from broken bottles, so I didn't buy any :(

My sort of local Sephora had some of the Sephora + Pantone Universe polishes on clearance for $5.. Somehow I got the them for $2 each. I'm not sure if the other stores are doing this. I was short on time or else I would have hit up the other pantone stuff. (they had the color of the year packs marked down too)

Salon Perfect has released a new nail polish line (Neon Collision) for the summer with glitter nail polishes that look exactly like the type of glitter in the Floam polishes that were so popular. There's even a color that seems to be a Floam dupe (it's called Kaboom). There's 6 polishes in the limited edition collection and I believe they sell for about $4.

I had been looking at it on the Walgreens website, where it is now $44.39, but since I was in Wags last night, I went ahead and picked it up. In stores, it's marked $59.99, but I showed the manager the online price (which I think was a tiny bit higher last night) on my phone and they gave me the adjustment! And in the coupon book that expires on June 1, there's a $2 off coupon for the kit. I got the whole thing for about $46!

ReplyDeleteWhile cruising my local Big Lots in La Canada Flintridge last night I spotted Eco Tools Alicia Silverstone sets and bags for between $3 and $5. A five piece brush set with a cute bag was $5.
ReplyDeleteMAJOR clearance items at Shopko ( I went to multiple different ones and found the same things so it looks like they are not store specific). I found some of the Color Whispers for $1.79 each. I got the colors Berry Ready, Who Wore It Red-der and A Plum Prospect but there were 2 other nude shades they had too. There were also some Sally Hansen Quick Dry polishes for around $2-4 (depending on the shade). Also found Maybelline Master Drama eyeliners in Stormy Navy and the purple color (forgot the name) for $1.99. There were also the Colorsensational Vivids for around $2 as well. I have also see various OPI and Kardashian Kolection polishes on clearance for $3-6 depending on color. Also Sinful Colors Haute Rebel collection (from a few months back) had polishes for $1.89. I think that is about it...Hope it helps everyone! I was VERY excited to see some of these sales and find that Shopko has the best prices when it comes to Clearance!

Went out of town on business and found a Forever 21 which I do not have in my area. I posted a few days ago about the Lorac cosmetics V.I.P. sale on their website, well last night I got another email saying they were adding a couple of new items to the sale (it's still going on). The item that caught my attention was the Close Up Real Life To Red Carpet Kit. From what I can tell all the products included are full size. ReplyDeleteI was checking out at CVS yesterday (buying a bunch of goodies I don't need), and the cashier noticed I had a handful of coupons printed off the coupon center. I told her I didn't think I had picked up anything that would qualify for the coupons, but she said she'd scan all of them anyway just to make sure. She ended up saving me an additional $5.24! So definitely have the cashier scan all your coupons when checking out, even if you think they won't take, so you can save even more $$!
ReplyDeleteIt's a glitch that they thankfully haven't fixed. I've noticed it about a year ago. All of the cvs redbox coupons will scan through as acceptable, even if there is no item that the coupon is for. If you get a nice cashier, or someone who plain just don't give a fig consider yourself lucky. Shhhhhh!!! ;)

DeleteFound a new bargain cosmetic brand at my local Fred's (kind of like Dollar General, I believe they are only in the southern states) called Ioni. Packaging is reminiscent of ELF, but the quality is more along the lines of Jordana. Picked up four shadow duos (there were six duos and four singles in all) and was impressed with all of them. They were smooth, not chalky in the slightest, and medium pigmentation. They have a pretty full line, I did not see foundations but they had shadows, blushes, bronzers, liners, mascara, lipsticks and glosses, nail polish, etc. All products are $1-$3 each. They do have a website http://www.ionimakeup.com/home/index.php but many of the items I saw in store were not shown (for example the eyeshadow duos, blushes, bronzers, also some gorgeous glitter liners I saw in store but not on the website). They are made in the USA and cruelty free.

I went to Walgreens yesterday and bought some Sensationail gel polish. They were on sale for 9.99 and the lady at the beauty counter gave me a $2/off coupon for each one I bought so I paid $7.98 for each!
ReplyDeleteSephora is discontinuing its relationship with OPI, so their Sephora by OPI items are all on clearance. Their nail polishes are half off, and so are things like nail polish strips, stickers and so on. According to one SA, Sephora will be replacing SOPI polishes with their Sephora X line.

They are from the Mineral Wear line and look like a flattened silver egg with a clear window in the lid. I have no idea why they do not sell them anymore because they are FANTASTIC, beautiful color selection, super smooth and pigmented, blow the newer shimmer strip shadows out of the water. The only issue for me was the colors are smushed together instead of in separate pans, but that is just a personal pet peeve of mine, the blocks of color were nice and large so no problems getting a brush in one.
At Target they had Maybelline Master Smoky liners for $6.99.. never seen those before either. They are a retractable liner very similar to the Masterdrama liners, but about twice as thick, with a spongy smudger about the size of a pencil eraser on the other end. Several different colors (I know I saw black, brown, blue, purple, green, and grey). I bought the brown which is nice and dark and has a subtle shimmer. The Masterdrama liners are my HG WL/TL liners and I've always wished they came with a smudger, and that they would do a green one (it's a really nice dark forest green too). If it works as well as the Masterdrama I'll be going back for the green for sure. Preliminary hand swatches were good, you can do a solid line or it smudges super easy and smooth, and once it sets it does not rub off.
CVS had NYC waterproof liners in the regular display (new? not sure). Pretty much identical to the new Rimmel Scandaleyez liners, NYX slide on liners, or UD 24-7 liners. Super smooth and pigmented, the one I grabbed was light blue and had gorgeous dimensional shimmer. Set and did not budge even with vigorous rubbing. Only $3.99 and the red box was printing $1 off coupons.
Just FYI on the new Fergie LE eyeshadow palettes... they are just as bad as the original ones. Very poor pigmentation, chalky, and hard to blend. A real shame because the colors are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI found the new Maybelline Color Tattoo pigments today at my local (Bowling Green, KY) Rite Aid along with the JulieG frosted gumdrops polishes. Also saw the LE Maybelline Summer lippies & the new L'Oreal foundation. A walgreens here also has the Walgreens exculsive Rimmel display with the Show Off lip laquers. Two of the four colors I wanted were opened (thanks for the tip on how to check if they had been!) and sadly, werw the last ones.
ReplyDeleteI bought two of the Rimmel Show Off lips & so far my only complaints are the overly fruit punch smell & the flexible wand. It's a doe foot applicator so that's nice but the plastic wand part is really flexible so you have to be careful when appling pressure.
I have a picture of the color tattoo pigment display if you want to know what it looks like. The markings on the pots are not consistant, which is very strange & only the blue color says it can last up to 24 hours so hrm. Didn't pick any up because I spent all I could for the week.
The CoverGirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils and Shadow Pots are both available on Target's website now. G, I know in your review of the Shadow Pencils you were concerned about the lack of safety seal on the Shadow Pots, so this might be a good way to get them and know for certain they weren't tampered with!

So i recently bought a benfit eyeshadow in the sahe "R.S.V.P." ($20) because I had heard people RAVING about it and i looked like a pretty color. However, when I got home and tried it out I descovered it was almost DENTICAL to My wet n wild shadow in "paupière" (the eyelid color in the walking on eggshells pallet). both are super good quality. If anything the wet and wild was even more pigmented and also $18.01 cheaper!!!!! If you dont have this wet n wild eyeshadow, go purchase it! It retails for only $1.99 and is the same as my $20 benefit shadow!!!!
ReplyDeleteSpotted at Rite Aid: Three new 6 pan palettes from City Color. There was a green/brown which I bought.. and I believe the other two were purple/blue and smokey. They are in a (very nice and heavy)long skinny clear acrylic compact with a black bar across the top that says "eyeshadows". $3.99 each.. and the formula of the one I have is fantastic. Super smooth and pigmented, very creamy without the slightest bit of chalkiness. They were all metallic/satin finish. I would go back and get all of them but I have so many other shadows in similar colors... heck I might get the purples after all if they are this nice. One thing to watch out for... the palette opens on the right side. I almost broke the hinge of mine trying to open it "normally".

I found the new SC Bright Essentials displays at my Walgreens. There were 2 displays, one sidecap and one counter top (that was actually hidden on a bottom shelf!). There were 2 versions of Cream Pink 152. The counter top had 2 of one shade and the sidecap had many of another shade. I took comparison pics but I don't know how to send them. The Cream Pink in the counter display is less purple and I preferred it.

BUTTER LONDON "DISCO BISCUIT" DUPE ALERT!! After reading here about the new Wet n Wild Megalast polishes at Dollar General I picked up a half dozen new shades, including "Punch it Up". I thought I was imagining things, but it seemed to look A LOT like a lemming of mine, Butter London's "Disco Biscuit". I gave myself a mani with the WnW Punch it Up and drove to my local Ulta where I swatched a nail with Disco Biscuit, and guess what??? They are virtual twins!!! Yes, BL has a tad more blue glitter, but you'd have to look very closely to see the difference. And for less than $2 versus $15, I'm willing to deal with the teeny weeny difference!
ReplyDeleteFound the Maybelline mega endcap display finally.. and can confirm there are five new shades of the 24hr lipcolor. They also appear to be permanent because they are listed on the website (however the swatches there are terrible and are not accurate to color). They are Constant Toast (another nude, yay), More and More Mocha, Committed Coral, Always Blazing, and Sienna Ever After. I picked up all but the red, but have yet to try them so I cannot comment on the finishes, you just never know with them until you put them on.. I'm hoping the coral is sheer because it is "whoa nelly" bright and appears to contain glitter (!).

Hey G! Just wanted to let you know that I've found some 2 packs of Revlon lip butters, yes I said 2 packs of Revlon lip butters at Target for $9.99. That's a good deal if I do say so myself!
