Spotted: New Revlon Break-Up Nail Art duos

This morning, reader Windestine left a comment on the You Tell Me page about some new Revlon crackle polishes she spotted at Walgreens, and I immediately put the word out on Twitter asking if anyone had seen them (before her comment, I didn't even know they existed!). Well, as luck would have it, I received an email from reader and fellow blogger lone_binky of WhatIFindCheap, who spotted these are her local Walgreens and she gave me permission to post her photo:

Revlon Break-Up Nail Art Duos
(retail: $10.95 at Walgreens)

But it gets better! lone_binky has fantastic close-ups of these dual-ended polishes, so be sure to check  out her post here.

And to my lovely Canadian readers: Halifax just spotted these at her local Walmart in Canada.

Thanks SO much, Windestine, lone_binky and Halifax for all of the great information! Have any of you spotted these polishes in your area yet? Thoughts?

  1. I JUST saw these yesterday! Only one Walgreens in my city had them out, but I'm sure I will see more put them out in the future. I have to say, I like the base colors a lot more than I do the crackles =P

  2. I'm a bit surprised to see Revlon putting out new crackles when it seems like all the other brands are moving on past crackle to the next big thing, but they definitely picked a unique way to do it by having them paired up with a regular polish in these duo sets.

  3. The colors are left to right:

    Steamy Affair
    Heart Break
    Love Hurts
    Cruel Intentions
    Star Crossed
    Ice Queen
    Killer Instincts
    Fatal Attraction

I did see these at my local Walgreens, looks like they just put the display out today because there was no price sign yet for it. Now that I know these are $10.95 I'm glad I passed on buying these. It's not like I need any more crackle polishes between my China Glaze, OPI and the one from Sinful Colors. lol Plus with Pure Ice's having crackles at $2.99 each I'm kind of done with the crackle fad. lol

Now if only the drugstore lines would come out with the matte polishes or suede and plastic looking polishes that CND had late last year.

  8. Have to agree with the other posters who say that Revlon seems rather "late to the party." I thought crackles have passed or are passing. I only own two crackles -- silver and gold -- because the darker colors and/or high contrast between the base and the crackle colors looks very unflattering on my older hands.

I doubt I'll be buying any more crackles, and prefer other finishes such as flakies (current fave - Essie's "As Gold As It Gets") and mattes.

  9. I never really got into the whole crackle phase. I dont know what it is about the crackle effect but it makes me feel like my finger nails are dirty and not done correctly......

  10. Pure Ice was also selling on CVS/Walgreens some paired crackle duos late last year..
It does seem a bit odd that they're coming out with that NOW, but hey I don't have that many crackles (I wasn't that crazy about them in the first place) but if the colors are great enough (will go check out the other blog now :D) maybe I'll get one or two :)

  11. I was never a big fan of crackles but I did buy I black one that I can honestly say I wore once... and didn't enjoy it. I have to say this is a great idea, to have them combined with a complementary color. Although they seem a bit pricey you are getting two colors and there are always sales and coupons for Revlon. I definitely commend them on the new take... although a bit late.

  12. The copper crackle looks good... much more coppery than ChG Medallion I think. I'm still on the hunt for a good copper crackle for my patina green polish layering thing, although $OPI has helped put it off a bit with their Traffic Stopper Copper glitter.

I'm not quite over crackle polishes, but I started kind of late on them & have been picky. I'm looking forward to the glitter crackles from ChG.

  14. Ive bought 3 of these and they are mix and match however theres very little product after using these a few times, product seems to go fast might as well use the sally hansen or opi crackles the full size and use whatever nail polish color you want in full size, because thats more worth your money to buy the crackle seperate and use your own nail polish full size. These work, but its just not worth the 10$, revlon should make a full size cracklee cause i do like revlons nail polish and i do have many of their full size nail polish, but i didnt see a difference in this crackle to the sally hansen crackle... its kind of a cool idea to have one side a specific color to be used with the other side, however there is such a small ammount of product really it should be half price for these. And there should be full size revlon crackles, i do like revlon as a brand as a whole and i do have many things from them, and i do like the brand, i just think they would do better to make full size crackles since their nail collection has really gotten so good since the fall collection came out, and just keeps getting better, and are generally decently priced about $5.00 for the full size bottles and this two wand crackle and nail polish together its a poorly thought out idea, because they would do so much better if they had regular full size crackle instead. Maybe its just me but i prefer to pick my crackle color and my nail color.... I think it was a poorly executed plan, that in the long term they would have done much better adding full size crackle polish to their Nail polish line which i like a lot of their nail polish it goes on smoothly, they have so many dupes to high end nail polish like smoldering that is a debrah lippman dupe i forget at the moment which color debrah lippmans one is for that revlon dupe, and wet and wild makes a dupe to it as well, that is the same color, and Revlon gold coin, silver coin, silver screen, and pearl, and graphite, all of their metalic colors, colors are dupes to channels fall collection. I suppose this new double wand crackle and nail color would be god for someone who never tried crackle, and wants to see what its like it does work, and the colors do go on well. If your traveling this would be good for taking it with you.... so you dont have to haul a lot of nail polish in full size. Perhaps they are thinking about coming out with full size crackles since thier nail collection this year has done well, and they want to see if this combo does well, prior to putting out full size crackles? If so thats a good idea.
