Time again for this week's drugstore beauty sales!
I know this has nothing to do with beauty, but I want to mention that Walgreens has a great back-to-school deal this week: all Penway or Wexford 2-pocket folders and Splash mini-highlighter pens are just $0.09 this week. When is anything nine cents these days?
Speaking of Walgreens, in this week's circular I noticed that 32 oz bottles of Salon Selectives shampoo and conditioner are on sale for $3 each. Um, when did Walgreens start selling Salon Selectives? I thought the only place you could find this brand anymore was at Big Lots. Have I been living under a rock or what?
Also at Walgreens: Creme of Nature Argan products (including my favorite Gloss & Shine Polisher which I reviewed here) are BOGOFREE this week.
This week at CVS, there's a special "Mystery Beauty Coupon" that you'll get when you scan your Extra Care card at the red scanner box. I have no idea what the coupon is for, but how can you resist a "mystery" beauty coupon, right?
Clairol Natural Instincts fans: your Sunday paper (July 17th) may contain a coupon for $5 off 2 boxes of Natural Instincts. If you get this coupon, you're in luck because both CVS and Walgreens are running deals where you'll be able to use that coupon and get 2 boxes for around 5 or 6 bucks total (details below).

Yeah! My Walgreen's just started carrying Salon Salectives too! When I first spotted them, I did a double/triple take. I thought I had gone back in time or something. Especially since they haven't changed their look since back in the day. Lol Major flashbacks here!
ReplyDeleteI have a small rant about circulars...I absolutely HATE how they are including sunday coupon savings in the ads. For example Rite Aid has "Less $5 with manufacturer's coupon in some sunday papers". Just list the price that anyone walking into the store would get!
ReplyDeleteNot everyone gets the coupons, and I just think this is obnoxious.
I guess I was just curious to see if anyone else feels the same.
:)
I agree w/ya Jenny. I don't get the newspaper either & think coupons aren't hard to deduct as any true couponista knows :) I bet it's a deal w/papers so we'll think: "maybe I should pick up the paper today & start getting it if there are so many deals like this." I know I do, and marketing strikes again. IKWYM though; it's annoying sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThank you G, for reminding me my hair is much like yours (looks a LOT less wavy in my profile pic of course) in need of extra TLC right now. I've been wanting to try Argan oil & that's a great BOGO for Creme of Nature, then you clinched it w/ marshmallow :-p. I confess I'm lost amongst all the Argan & Moroccan oils lately. The Sulfate-free thing too, but I digress. Needs more research.
I'll be getting the 'mystery coupon' from CVS too. I'm saving my last quarter Bucks for something special so we'll see if it entices me to part w/ it. I wonder if they're all the same or vary based on our past purchases w/the card? The latter is my guess but who knows? Those who get it should report back just for fun and curiousity as to how well CVS tracks, er I mean 'knows' us via that pesky Marketing again :) What do you think?
Steffy and Jenny, sometimes the stores keep the manufacturer coupons at the beauty counter. I worked at Walgreens for quite some time, and the Beauty Advisors in my region clipped applicable coupons and kept them behind the register in the beauty section. You have to ask, but they're usually more than happy to share if they have them.

Steffy and Jenny,
ReplyDeleteI don't get the Sunday paper either, but sometimes the stores will keep the manufacturer coupons at their location. I worked for Walgreens for quite some time, and the Beauty Advisors in my region clipped applicable coupons and kept them behind the beauty counter. You have to ask, but they're usually more than willing to share.
Lisa
The CVS 'mystery coupons' are 2 coups- $5off20 facial care, and $5off20 Maybelline or Revlon. One day expiration. I'll be using mine tomorrow for more Revlon lippies.
ReplyDeleteI *finally* got the Natureluxe foundation (and a gloss) thanks to the CVS ECB this week. Excited to try it out!
Thanks for the note about the mystery coupons, aloix- sounds like I will be picking up some more Revlon lippies as well, and maybe some CG foundation with the sale.
ReplyDeleteThere's a Wet 'n Wild sale at CVS for BOGO 1/2 off! :]
ReplyDeleteYep mine were the same so my mystery guess was wrong, oh well, it was nice wishful coupon-thinking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip re asking at the store Lisa! Hadn't thought of that but will try it. the Beauty Advisor last time gave me a great little summer coupon booklet so I bet they'd know of other deals too :)
Scan your card at the Extra Bucks scanner, ladies! Beauty club members get a coupon for $5 off $15 of Revlon or Maybelline purchase, which is better than the one day $5 of $20, or if you're so inclined... use both! :-)
