Spotted: New L'Oreal EverSleek collection (silicone-free and sulfate-free)

If you've ever visited a haircare forum, you know that the search for good silicone-free (or as haircare junkies call it, "cone-free") products is right up there with the search good sulfate-free products. So when the beautiful Katie of My Lips But Better sent these pics my way, I almost let out a little squeal:

As you can see, there's an assortment of different shampoos, conditioners serums and styling products in this collection. I'm super excited to try it, especially since certain "cones" can make my hair look and feel very flat. I'm hoping these products can leave my locks bouncy and light yet frizz-free at the same time!

So, what do you think? Are you excited to try this new offering from L'Oreal? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks so much for the awesome pics and scoop, Katie!

  2. I find that L'oreal's Ever-products have been very, very nice on my hair, having already gone through several varieties. I have fine, dark, tailbone length hair, and I don't really use product in it aside from shampoo, conditioner, and the occasional dry shampoo or deep conditioner, so YMMV. If you use a lot of product, you may have to use a clarifying shampoo to get that stuff out, first, as this is a rather gentle cleanser. Now, it still gets hair clean, but if you like it to be, literally, squeaky clean, I doubt that will happen. However, I like that l'oreal's products aren't that harsh--it makes is so much easier to get some basic detangling done in the shower, and she conditioner helps to supplement that, though alone, it's not that good. (/end lecture)

Recently, I had to buy pantene again because my store was sold out of the ever-stuff, and goodness, was I shocked! The smell, the texture of my hair changed a lot and I didn't like it. It felt heavier and noticeably coated, but didn't have nearly as much slip as before. And the smell, I'm not used to it being so strong and lingering. It interacts really oddly with my body wash (though, to be honest, this is a personal preference and can take a while to get used to).

But basically, wait until 3 washes in, or so, after your hair dries to make a judgment. I found I liked it more as I started using it more, and my scalp got used to it and started producing less oil.

  3. I'm anxious to try anything that will keep my hair from 'frizzing'. My natural hair, when left to dry on it's own, is sort of wavy/frizzy, so I blow it dry and flat iron it to get it smooth and straight. But oh, how that damages my hair.

Here's to hoping it's a great product. BTW at which drugstore were these spotted?

  11. I was in my local Rite Aid (North Park for those of you in San Diego)when I spotted the display for this...unfortunately, it was almost completely empty! The only items left were the Creme Serum (which I snagged) and the leave-in. Looks like this is going to be a popular line! I really hope the serum works well for me...and for those curious about the smell, it's not too strong or perfumey, just a clean soap smell to my nose. :)

PLus it has argon oil in it (aka MOroccan oil) smells great too!
