My newest drugstore dupe discovery!
If you're a MAC fan, you probably already own or love their eyeshadow shade "Satin Taupe". It's an absolutely gorgeous, deep, shimmery taupe that works for a variety of looks (all-over lid, in the crease, or used to line). But if you're like me, sometimes, even though the shade is beautiful, it's a bit much. It's very shimmery and it can tend to be a little dark and dramatic for daytime.
I recently purchased the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy "Quartz" eyeshadow palette and discovered that the lid color in this trio is a WONDERFUL alternative to "Satin Taupe". It's extremely similar in color, yet it's not as intense or shimmery. It's *perfect* if you want a wash of color that's reminiscent of "Satin Taupe" but not as bold or dramatic.
I tried my best to capture the differences in the swatches above, but as always, my CBC (crappy blackberry camera) doesn't do it justice. For what it's worth, the Carmindy shade is on the top and "Satin Taupe" is on the bottom in the first pic. In the second pic, Carmindy is on the left and "Satin Taupe" is on the right.
Anyway, just wanted to pass that along as a nice, affordable, daytime alternative!
