Super cool things to read this weekend

Yikes! The weekend's almost over and I haven't done my weekly roundup yet so I better get started! Here are my favorite posts from the past week from the wonderful bloggers on my blog roll.  Enjoy!

Hurry! Hurry! You've only got a few more hours to win the newest (not out yet in stores) fragrance from Bath & Body Works, "PS: I Love You".  Open to readers from all countries (yay!), all you have to do is leave a comment on MakeupMasala's contest post.  Fun!

If you read my Carlo di Roma review, you know that I'm loving this new Dollar Store brand.  TheCheapestGirlAround just reviewed the lip liner/lip brush duo and I seriously cannot believe these are just dollar a piece.

I've been eyeing those L'Oreal HiP Shadow Paints (the MAC Paints knock-offs) for, well, forever.  BedasBeautyBlog just reviewed three shades and gives us a very helpful review.  Looks like I'm waiting for a BOGO sale!

HomeSpaGoddess snapped some pics of those adorable Diva Tweezers by LaCross.  I agree with her though, that there needs to be some ethnic diversity in these designs, so hopefully they'll expand the collection soon because these are just too darn cute.

The e.l.f. studio line has finally made its way across the pond, as they say, and beautyjunkieLondon just wrote an informative, honest review of some of the products.  A very helpful read if you're trying to narrow down the selections in your shopping cart.

If you've been tempted to try the Veet Spray On Hair Removal Cream, you might want to click on over to  the TheGlossMenagerie for the scoop before you make a purchase...

TheDailyBeautyBreak does it again! I had no idea about this new CoverGirl LashBlast Length Mascara that's coming out in September and it looks like it might just be fantastic.

Happy reading!

Super cool things to read this weekend

It's time again for me to bring you my favorite posts from the past week from the beauty bloggers on my blog roll. I've got some really interesting entries to share with you this week so I hope you'll take a peek!

Some may call it torture, but I love to read about beauty products that aren't available in the US, and one of my favorite sources for international beauty is BeautyjunkieLondon. So I was super excited to hear that BeautyjunkieLondon is going to be hosting a huge giveaway (open to everyone outside of the UK as well!) including lots of UK beauty products when her blog followers reach 100. If you're curious to know what she'll be offering, become a follower. :)

TheCheapChica's leopard print nails have inspired me to start getting creative with my nail color stash. And I love the fact that she only used drugstore nail polishes to achieve the look!

It's rare that an eyeshadow look actually makes me happy, but that's exactly what happened when I saw this colorful pastel look by DecorativeDiva. It makes me think of Easter and all the pretty eggs and candies of the season. So much fun, I just had to share.

I am always on the lookout for a great, affordable sunscreen and it looks like BedasBeautyBlog has found one. I am picking this one up the next time I'm at Walgreens (and thanks for giving me a reason to go to Walgreens again, Beda. :)

It looks like I'm not the only one who is having great luck with Generic Value Products from Sally. Check out TheGlossMenagerie's review of the GVP version of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum if you've got frizzies and want them gone (for less).

How in the heck did I miss the fact that the new Caress body wash contains "burnt brown sugar and karite butter"? Yum! Check out Yummy411's review for the details.

And finally, you must take a look at the new "Urban Neutrals" palette from Mark. Not only are the colors gorgeous, but the packaging. Oh my! Check out ThePinkTrainCase's review here.

Super cool things to read this weekend

It's that time again! I've selected my favorite posts of the past week from the wonderful bloggers on my blog roll for you reading pleasure. Enjoy!

What happens when you take one of my favorite bloggers (Pink Sith) and have her guest blog for one of my other favorite bloggers (TheGlossMenagerie)? You get a fantastic post about taupe eyeshadows (one of my favorite colors ever!).

A few weeks ago I posted a display pic from the drugstore of the new Jessie's Girl Baked Eyeshadow Collection. I haven't had the chance to purchase one of these to review yet, but never fear because MakeupMasala has them all swatched for our viewing pleasure! Check out her great review here.

Wouldn't you know it? The one new L'Oreal lip product I don't buy or review on my blog is now the one I desperately want to get my hands on--but only after reading BeautyJunkiesUnite's review (look at that applicator!).

Have you been curious about the new Clean and Clear Blackhead Eraser? Then you should definitely check out HappyFaceHappyWallet's detailed review before you make a purchase.

Josi, the pro makeup artist behind TheDailyBeautyBreak, has compiled a list of her top five beauty must-haves. The shocker is that one of 'em is a Maybelline eyeshadow that I've yet to try (I've got to get one now, of course). Check out her list here.

And finally, if you read my review of the generic version of Joico K-PAK this week, you should take a look at the review of the real thing over at TheArt&ScienceofBeauty. Very interesting!

Super cool things to read this weekend

It's time for my weekly picks of my favorite posts from the lovely bloggers on my blog roll. I've got some great reviews to share with you this week so check it out and enjoy! (Click the links below to be taken to the reviews.)

HappyFaceHappyWallet has done it again. The pics of her eyes after using the Revlon ColorStay Sultry Smoke Quad are insanely pretty and now, naturally, I need to own this darn quad myself.

The newest addition to my blogroll, Yummy411, gives us her first impressions of the new Maybelline SuperStay Foundation. Does it rival my beloved Revlon ColorStay? Read to find out.

Have you been thinking about jumping aboard the matte nail polish trend? Well if you're like me, you may be skeptical about purchasing an entire bottle of matte nail color for fear of growing tired of the look too soon. Never fear, my lovlies, because BeautyJunkiesUnite has the solution!

I'm addicted to ThePinkTrainCase's weekly feature: Taupe Tuesdays. And this last Tuesday, Tanya tempted us with not one, but two taupes from the super inexpensive makeup line, CQ. I neeeed to get my hands on these.

If you're a loyal reader of my blog, you've got to know by now that I'm kind of a lip balm junkie. And I'm so not alone. Check out TheGlossMenagerie's review of the new Soft Lips "Pure" lip balm.

Speaking of lip balm, I've been really curious about Dr. Bronner's new organic lip balms since I first saw them on drugstore shelves a few months ago. So I was super happy to see that TheCheapestGirlAround got her hands on one and posted a review. Yay!

And finally, because it's worth watching again, and again, TheCheapChica posted the comedy bit I mentioned on my other blog, NouveauSweet, about Ross Dress for Less. If you haven't seen it, you really should (especially if you're a Ross shopper!).

Super cool things to read this weekend

Whoa! I'm a bit late this week but there's still time to bring you my weekly roundup of my favorite posts from the bloggers in my blog roll. Here we go!

Tanya from PinkTrainCase unknowingly gave me one of the very best makeup flashbacks I have ever had in my life. She found a vintage L'Oreal commercial from 1983 and took the time to upload it to youtube (I will never be able to thank you enough for that, Tanya!). This particular product ROCKED MY WORLD in the early to mid-80s (seriously, this was my first product lemming and the first product I coveted--I guess you could say it started it all). You've got to check it out here and tell me if you remember these!

MakeupMasala has once again tempted us with more of those fabulous Diamond Cosmetics $2 nail polishes. How much longer until I cave and make a purchase?

If you're a fan of Phyrra's blog, Decorative Diva, then I don't have to tell you how the girl knows color! She's not afraid of rocking amazing, colorful looks on her eyes, so when she tells us what her favorite products are to clean her makeup brushes, I take note and listen carefully.

Shakeup*your*Makeup shows us her latest Marshall's score which has me itching to get in my car and drive to Marshall's asap.

Whoa. BeautyjunkieLondon shows us a new e.l.f. product that is a seriously crazy NARS dupe (from the picture it looks spot-on).

And, just for fun, come check out my list of my favorite "bad boys" (actors). I admit, I'm regressing back to my teenage years with this post, but come on, you know there's a special place in your heart for bad boys. :) Oh and do let me know if I missed anyone on this list.

Super cool things to read this weekend

It's that time again! Here are my favorite posts from the past week from the beautiful bloggers on my blog roll. Enjoy!

Do you want to see the coolest new invention in lip balm in probably the past 20 years? (My opinion, of course.) Well then click on over to BeautyJunkiesUnite. I MUST get one of these asap.

Have you been tempted to purchase Rimmel's "8hr Mousse Blush "? Well there are some things you need to know about it before you shell out your hard-earned moola, so click over to Beda'sBeautyBlog for the scoop.

There's just something about looking at NYX gloss swatches that's so fun to me--maybe because they're always so pretty and soooo affordable. Click over to LipGlossKitty's blog to see her stash.

I've been so curious about those Yes To Carrots Lip Tints, so I'm glad that Shakeup*your*makeup wrote such a helpful review because now I don't have to wonder about the color payoff. Yay!

TheGlossMenagerie's post about the latest e.l.f. ad made me giggle, I must admit! What were they thinking?

The MakeupBlogger explains to us why redheads should consider using John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner. Sounds like a fantastic idea to me and I only wish I knew about this when I still had auburn hair!

That's it for this installment--happy reading!

Super cool things to read this weekend

It's time again for my roundup of my favorite posts from the past week, from the lovely fellow beauty bloggers in my blog roll. Let's get started!

Guess which drugstore brand has a new "Blueberry Antioxidant" shower gel that totally passes the "smells like a high-end bath product" test? Click on over to Beauty Junkies Unite to find out!

And speaking of shower gels, BeautyjunkieLondon once again tempts us with a product that isn't yet available in the US: Palmolive Shower Gel. Yes, Palmolive!

Pink Sith shows us some fabulous nail color swatches from Diamond Cosmetics. Oh and their polishes are just $2 a bottle. Whoo!

Speaking of inexpensive nail color, The Cheapest Girl Around gives us the scoop on one of the new neon polishes from Sinful Colors. Guess how many coats of "Neon Melon" it took her to achieve an opaque look?

Who doesn't like live demos, especially when they're showing you the fabulousness of Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner? Check out The Pink Train Case's live demo here.

Older Girl Beauty gives us a great review of the new "dual color" lip products: L'Oreal HiP Color Presso and Avon Specktra Color Lipstick. Hint: She has me really wanting to try one of them.

Lastly, I'd like to share one of my favorite stand-up comedy bits with you! It's about shopping at Ross so if you're a Ross shopper, you MUST click here. :)

Happy reading and Happy 4th of July if you're in the US!

Super cool things to read this weekend

Wow, I usually post my weekly roundup on Friday afternoon, but I guess the release of all these new products got me a little sidetracked. :)

But since it's still the weekend, there's time to share with you my favorite beauty posts from the past week. Enjoy!

Want to see what Cover Girl has in store for us next month? Then click on over to the TheDailyBeautyBreak to check out the new blush and eyeshadow that will hit stores soon!

One of the newest editions to my blog roll, TheCheapChica, gives us a fantastic (and of course, cheap!) tip for breaking in sandals. I am so going to try this!

Do watermelon, mango, tangerine and peach body mists sound appealing to you? Yeah, me too! So that's why I loved TheGlossMenagerie's review of the new yummy body mists from mark. Oh and even the bottles are cute!

If you thought my review of L'Oreal's Extra Volume Collagen Mascara was helpful, you MUST click over to HappyFaceHappyWallet and check out T's review, which is not only helpful but totally hilarious. (I know I always say that about T's reviews but I swear it's the truth--she cracks me up!).

If you're a hoarder with 18 cats, you might want to avoid PinkSith's review of Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector. But if you're not, then by all means give this review a read. :)

OK, how can I not plug my own interview? MakeupMasala interviewed yours truly for her ongoing feature titled, "The Same 5 Questions." If you'd like to know a little bit more about me, then by all means, check it out. :)

And since it's apparently all about ME today, I'd love for you to check out my latest obsession: The most glamorous gum in the world. The packaging of this gum is so glamorous it puts my normal Orbit Mint Mojito to shame! Check it out over at NouveauSweet. Oh and while you're there, be sure to check out the cutest DIY project ever (this is one you'll want to make for yourself even if you're not into crafts).

Super cool things to read this weekend

Another week has flown by and it's time again to bring you my favorite posts from the bloggers on my blog roll. Let's get started!

BeautyJunkiesUnite shows us the new Q-Tip Vanity Packs which are almost as adorable as her actual vanity!

HappyFaceHappyWallet gives us the ingredients needed for her fabulous 10-minute face, including tons of fab drugstore goodies.

MakeupMasala tell us why she loves the adorably petite Cover Girl Line Exact Liquid Liner Pen (note to self: Must get one asap).

Want to know the inexpensive secret weapon of a pro makeup artist? Click on over to TheMakeupBlogger to find out.

BeautyjunkieLondon shares with us her favorite e.l.f. product and it's one I haven't tried yet. Shame on me!

Want to know a great alternative to the $34 Guerlain Kohl liner? Click on over to OlderGirlBeauty to find out.

I'm a sucker for new blush products and ThePinkTrainCase's review of the new Sonia Kashuk Super Sheer Liquid Tint has me itching to make a Target run. Now.

Super cool things to read this weekend

It's time once again to bring you my favorite blog posts from the past week, from my favorite fellow beauty bloggers. Let's get started!

OlderGirlBeauty brings us one of the funniest and most informative reviews of the new Maybelline Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara I've read to date. I defy you not to giggle when she demonstrates the poor design of this product! :)

BeautyJunkiesUnite introduces us to some new dry shampoos which have me believing that my fave Stila dry shampoo now has some serious competition.

If you're like me and just cannot figure out how (or why) to use a protein treatment on your hair, check out TheArt&Scienceof[beauty]'s review of Redken Extreme CAT for exactly how it all works.

Definitely budget-friendly, TheMakeupDivas gives us a recipe for a fantastic DIY foot mask which includes three wholesome ingredients: cucumbers, olive oil and lemon juice.

If you're in that special group of gals who find that Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance just do not work to keep your eyeshadow from creasing, Read all about PinkSith's solution: ArtDeco Eyeshadow Base.

Whether you're getting married soon or are in a wedding a soon, you must click over to TheDailyBeautyBreak to get some essential wedding makeup pointers from the professional herself (this is also helpful for any of us who just need our makeup to last all day for a special event).

I don't know about you, but I just never get tired of looking at swatches of the Sephora Kat Von D True Romance eyeshadow palettes, and MyMakeupReview's lastest pics definitely do not disappoint.

Been curious about those Soap & Glory products you see at Target with the cute, retro packaging? I know I have been, so I'm glad that PinkTrainCase took the plunge and reviewed The Fab Pore for us.

Happy reading! :)

Super cool things to read this weekend (late edition)

Due to ongoing computer problems (I actually had to purchase a brand new computer on Friday--argh!) I didn't get a chance to post my usual weekly roundup of my favorite posts by my favorite beauty bloggers.

But because the weekend isn't quite over yet, I decided that I still had time. So here you go:

Probably the funniest post about frizzy hair that I've read to date, Happy Face, Happy Wallet reviews ION Alcohol-Free Hairspray from Sally and tells us if it helped her locks stop singing showtunes.

Shakeup*your*makeup shows us a very pretty look using the 75% off Victoria's Secret gel liners paired with Maybelline eyeshadows.

The Cheapest Girl Around gives us the lowdown on the Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip Color Retractable Pencils (how have I not seen these yet??).

Fun, Flat Broke & Fabulous gives us some fun ideas for wearing bright colors on our peepers.

A reusable airless bottle with a pump for Revlon ColorStay foundation? Yes! Check out Beda's Beauty Blog for the deets.

A girl after my own heart! Tanya at Pink Train Case shares my love of inexpensive gray nail colors--check out where she purchased her latest steal here.

Sorry for the late edition, girls!

Super cool things to read this weekend

Another week has breezed by and it's already time for my weekly roundup of my favorite posts from the lovely beauty bloggers on the right-hand side of this website. Let's get started!

Angelina's lips at the Cannes Film Festival last week were stunning, to say the least. Wanna know what shade of red she was wearing? Click on over to Beauty Junkies Unite to find out (it may surprise you).

Let's face it: I'm not a sheer foundation wearer. But if I were, Fun, Flat Broke & Fabulous's review of Maybelline Pure Makeup Foundation would have me running to the drugstore immediately.

And speaking of Maybelline, I'm about to buy something other than their nail polishes and eyebrow pencils after reading Pink Train Case's review of Maybelline's new Stylish Smokes Quads. One word? Gorgeous. Two words? Must have.

I find it pretty hilarious that a product line called "Miss Malibu" is available in the UK but not available in Malibu (or anywhere in the US for that matter). Beauty junkie London once again tempts us with products that have yet to hit US shores, and this Miss Malibu Disappearing Pink Lotion sunscreen is no exception. Could the packaging be any cuter??

I found my next new mascara purchase after reading Shakeup *your* Makeup's awesome review of L'Oreal Extreme Volume Collagen Mascara. Oh yes, when the next BOGO comes around, this will be mine.

Are you a flat iron user? If so, you must check out The Art & Science of [beauty]'s review of FX Special Effects Flat Iron Spray, which has me rethinking my low-maintenance ways.

Enjoy your weekend!

Super cool things to read this weekend (holiday edition)

In honor of Memorial Day Weekend here in the U.S., I'm bringing you a super-sized weekly round-up of my favorite posts of the past week from my lovely fellow beauty bloggers.

And a note to my new readers: I hand-pick these posts myself based on their information about drugstore and bargain beauty products, but I will occasionally slip in a post about a more expensive product if I think it's something you should know about :) Enjoy!

Anthony over at The Art & Science of [beauty] took some pictures of his hair product stash and is asking his readers what they'd like for him to review. He's got tons of product knowledge about popular drugstore brands, so if you want him to review anything in particular, just leave him a comment and he'll be happy to oblige (in fact, he reviewed something specifically for me and it was super helpful).

Are LA Colors Mineral eyeshadows worth their $1 price tag? Leigh at The Cheapest Girl Around once again keeps it real and gives us the lowdown here.

Want to get all bronzed up for summer? JennBee at Bare Budget Beauty gives us a first look at the new L'Oreal Bronze Gone Brazen Collection and boy is it pretty.

Are you sad that you missed the free e.l.f. palette deal a while back? Well you might not be after reading Happy Face, Happy Wallet's honest (and extremely entertaining) review. PS: Love that fruit analogy, T.!

Did you know that Chapstick has a new balm with shimmer? Yeah, I didn't either! If you'd like a chance to win one of these babies, just click on over to The Makeup Divas and enter the giveaway.

Tanya over at Pink Train Case never fails to give me new things to obsess over and this post about the new and repackaged Sonia Kashuk products definitely didn't disappoint.

Josi over at the The Daily Beauty Break gives us her Top 5 Drugstore Beauty Products of the Week, including self-tanner that actually makes me reconsider using one again (after so many botched attempts I've lost count).

Looking for ways to put two different color palettes together to make a gorgeous eye? Check out Beda's Beauty Blog to see a dark silver and brown eyeshadow look that has me totally mesmerized.

With the summer months rapidly approaching, do you find yourself thinking about hardcore concealers for covering up a tattoo or maybe some spider veins? You may need to pay a bit more for a heavy-duty cover-it-all product, so let Amber at Beauty Junkies Unite give you her expert opinion on some new options.

Want the scoop on what colors are on trend for nails this season? Look no further than Beauty junkie London's breakdown of what's hot in the UK and beyond.

Happy reading and have a wonderful 3-day holiday if you're in the U.S.!

If you haven't used Dr. Bronner's All-One yet, click on over to The Daily Beauty Break to find out why you should pick some up the next time you're at the grocery store.

Check out if Burt's Bees passes the boyfriend test: Bare Budget Beauty's boyfriend test drives Burt's Bees Hand Salve and Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme.

Are you a sucker for cute packaging? The Cheapest Girl Around tells us if Body America's Lip Butter is as good as its retro pinup girl packaging.

Just in time for sandal season, The Beauty Counter gives us essential tips for cheap and safe home pedicures.

Been saving your pennies for CORALista? Check out My Makeup Reviews' awesome no-nonsense review before you head over to the BeneFit counter.

As if I needed another foundation I'd like to try, Happy Face, Happy Wallet's review of Cover Girl's Aquasmooth totally sold me on the convenience factor alone.

Super cool things to read this weekend

Time again for me to list my favorite posts of the past week from the blogs of the wonderful ladies you see on my Blog Roll (on the right-hand sidebar). Let's begin:

Without a doubt, my favorite post of the week comes from Beda's Beauty Blog. Click here to check out her in-depth (and quite scary) review of Revlon's new Double Twist Mascara (thanks for saving me $10, Beda!).

I don't know about you, but I love seeing how the packaging of global beauty products changes from country to country. Case-in-point, check out Beauty junkie London's post and see how cute Dove Aerosol Deodorant is in the UK vs. the boring version we get here in the US.

In my ongoing quest to find a replacement for my old, dated razor blades that will probably be discontinued soon, I am captivated by Bare Budget Beauty's review of the new Gillette Venus Embrace.

Once every year or so, I get tempted by the next new all-natural deodorant. Find out what happens when Afrobella takes Lavilin on a test run (I'm still sort of tempted).

Fragrance doesn't get more elegant or timeless than Chanel No. 5. Older Girl Beauty Blog gives us a sneak peek at the new ad campaign for this classic fragrance, featuring Audrey Tautou and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (who directed Tautou in "Amélie"). Oooh, and we even get a video clip from behind the scenes!

The Mighty J's post of Kat Von D's True Romance Eyeshadow Palette made me salivate, I tell you. So gorgeous it makes me misty-eyed.

Which makeup primer does the utterly gorgeous Sarah over at Fun, Flat Broke & Fabulous use? It just so happens to be one that I've yet to try (and it's from the drugstore!).

Super cool things to read this weekend

I know a lot of other bloggers do this and I'm totally late to the party, but I'd like to share with you my favorite bargain beauty posts from the past week on other beauty blogs, for your weekend reading pleasure.

(And a HUGE thanks to my new readers and loyal followers - I can't tell you how much it means to me that you're choosing to read and come back to my blog! Considering how many choices you have, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for spending time on my site!)

Here are a few of my favorite posts from this week, in no particular order:

Happy Face, Happy Wallet gives us the lowdown on Wild n' Crazy eyeshadows.

Beauty Junkies Unite swatches the new Zoya Hot Lips Glossy Lip Balms for our viewing pleasure.

Pink Train Case gives us a rare sighting of the elusive Sonia Kashuk Skunk Brush.

The Daily Beauty Break tells us which one is better: Nailtiques or NailTek.

The Cheapest Girl Around gives us the scoop on a true beauty bargain to help get our feet ready for sandal season.

And here's one more post I loved this week that doesn't have to do with beauty bargains (but it's a great read):

Afrobella confirms that Oprah doesn't wear a weave, but brings up some other interesting hair-related questions.
