Spotted: NEW Vaseline Crème Brûlée Lip Therapy

You know how much I love the Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy. So when reader Susannah (@susannahsaurus on Instagram) shared this pic of the new Crème Brûlée Lip Therapy spotted at Walgreens today, my immediate thought was: "Let the hunt begin!"

Review: Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy

Unless you've been reading my blog for a while, you probably have no idea how much I've been anticipating the release of this product. I first posted about Rosy Lips back in October of 2012, and it's literally taken me a whole year to find it. The first "official" US sighting (official as in, by a Nouveau Cheap reader) was in October of THIS year, so that's an awful long time to pine for a drugstore lip product, right?

Rosy Lips has been out in the UK for a few years now (where it comes in a tin), but here in the US it comes in the same type of teeny tiny jar as the other Lip Therapies (original and Cocoa Butter):

(retail: around $1.99, 0.25 oz)

The photo above is "reality" and the photo below is what this product looked like to me when I finally saw it at Walgreens:

When I finally found it, I swear I thought a miniature unicorn was going to come galloping out of the little counter display. Anyway, now that I have it, and now that I've used it several times, here's my take on it...

Breaking Beauty News: Vaseline Rosy Lips spotted at Walgreens

I tend to reserve the words "breaking beauty news" for posts that are a REALLY big deal around here, and this is one of those times! But let me back up, in case you're new to the blog...

Back in October of 2012, I posted about a new mini-jar of Vaseline Lip Therapy called Rosy Lips, which is tinted with a soft pink color and has a light, rose fragrance (not to be confused with the plain and cocoa butter formulas which you can pretty much find everywhere). Rosy Lips has been in the UK for quite some time now, but it's been VERY difficult to find here in the US, and I still get questions to this day as to where it can be purchased in the US.

Well this morning, longtime reader Fatima (@fatima19880 on Instagram) shared with me that she just spotted Rosy Lips AT WALGREENS! Check it out:

Spotted: New Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizers

We haven't seen any new spray lotions at the drugstore for a while! When I first heard about these new ones from Vaseline last month, I have to admit I was quite curious. Sometimes spray lotions don't deliver the hydration that my skin needs, but who doesn't love the convenience of a spray--especially when you're in a hurry, right?

Longtime photo contributor Jess spotted these new spray lotions at her local CVS recently and was nice enough to share some pics. I'm so glad these have finally landed--I can't wait to try/review them. Take a peek:

New Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy (it's tinted!)

Last week I mentioned that I heard about a new Vaseline mini Lip Therapy that was tinted, but I couldn't remember who initially told me about it (I think a few of you left comments a while back about it). I've been scouring the internet for pics and info about this product but I haven't been able to find anything.

Well today reader r. michel left a comment on my post from last week with not only the name of the product, but also a link to a photo and info! Check it out:

From the AOL Shopping website:
For Healthy Looking Lips Today and Tomorrow Lip Therapy® For Soft Pink Lips
  • Instantly softens lips and leaves behind a sheer pink tint
  • Locks in moisture so lips feel better over time
Made with pure petroleum jelly and has a light rose fragrance.

I've been obsessed with these little mini jars of Vaseline since I first spotted them back in April. And then I became even more obsessed after seeing the Cocoa Butter version. And now a tinted version? It must be mine!

Thanks so much, r. michel, for taking the time to respond to my request for more info. I really, really appreciate it!

Review: New Vaseline Sheer Infusion Body Lotion

I can't really explain why I get so giddy when I see a new body lotion at my local drugstore. I guess it's because I'm always hoping that a new product will finally come around that meets all of my needs and I'll no longer be on a quest for something just a little bit better than the lotions I already use.

So when I saw this display a few days ago at my local CVS I got that giddy feeling again:

Vaseline Sheer Infusion Body Lotion with Stratys-3 is a brand new collection of body lotions that promises "Superior moisture across all layers of skin" because it contains "Stratys-3" which, according to the Vaseline website, is composed of "three powerful ingredients that infuse and suspend moisture across all layers of skin--the top, the core, and deep down."

The real selling point of this lotion, for me at least, is that it promises to not only treat the top layer of skin, but deep down as well. I don't know about you, but I can't stand lotions that just sit on top of my skin and feel greasy, or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, absorb so quickly that I'm back to feeling dry a few minutes after application.

This lotion comes in three different formulas and fragrances: "Botanical Bliss", "Vitamin Burst" and "Mineral Renewal". It was hard to decide which one to purchase because I like the concept behind each one, but I went with "Botanical Bliss" because I like that it contains some actual botanical ingredients (eucalyptus and cypress bark extract) and the fragrance is very "botanical-smelling" if that makes sense. Here are the ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Dihydroxypropyl Trimonium Chloride, Isopropyl Myristate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Tapioca Starch, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG 100 Stearate, Triethyl Citrate, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Cupressus Sempervirens Bark Extract (Cypress), Fragrance, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cetyl Palmitate, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

As you can see, this lotion contains parabens (boo!). I'm not too jazzed about that, but I still couldn't resist giving it a try to see exactly how moisturized it could make skin. Currently my arms and legs are very dry due to the dry heat we're experiencing in San Diego right now, so I knew I could really put this lotion to the test.

Immediately upon application I could feel that this lotion was somehow different. It absorbs into the skin, yet it's got a texture that's very different from other Vaseline lotions I've used in the past. I can't really describe it but it makes my skin feel like it's got a very thin velvety, almost waxy, coating. I like this feeling very much, and I'm pleased to report that this lotion really lasts. Even through multiple applications of anti-bac to my hands, I can still feel the coating. But it's not a greasy coating--like I said, I really can't describe it but I like it.

I've been using this lotion for three days on my arms and legs and with each day that passes I like it more and more. My skin feels incredibly soft, even after showering. I don't need to reapply it at night and throughout the course of the day, whenever I feel my arms, they just feel so incredibly smooth. In fact, the only thing I'm not liking about this product is that it contains parabens. It would be wonderful if they could release a version that's paraben-free in the future, and hopefully this line will be a huge success and they'll be more inclined to do so...soon.

Vaseline Sheer Infusion retails for around $7 but you can click here to visit their website where there is a coupon you can print for $1.50 off a bottle.

Have you tried Vaseline Sheer Infusion Body Lotions yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
