Almay Intense i-Color Gel Smooth Liners and One Coat Multi-Benefit Mascara
Many thanks to reader @beastiegram on Instagram for this one. She spotted some new Almay products recently at Walmart in Canada and was nice enough to share some pics. I have heard that these are already in US drugstores as well (I haven't spotted them personally but I know some of you already have).
Please note that prices on these displays are CAD.

I know that a lot of people love Almay's One Coat Mascara, so hopefully this new formula is exciting news if you're a fan. As for the liners, I don't know...I feel kind of "meh" about them. Now if this were 2009, when UD 24/7 dupes were just starting to pop up in drugstores, I would probably be a whole lot more excited. I don't know what's going on with Almay these days, but I just can't excited about their new releases--and I really want to! Am I alone here? Are you excited about these new products? Maybe it's just me. I swear sometimes I wish I could take the creative reigns over at Almay and force them to give us some really exciting collections. I know they're all about subtlety (no bright, bold shades) but give us a gorgeous yet subtle strobing palette, some matte counterparts to the Color + Care Liquid Lip Balms (those wouldn't really be lip balms, but you know what I mean), or how about a really good, hypo-allergenic, full-coverage CC cream with SPF 50. Something that feels more "2015" rather than "2009" would be awesome.
Sorry for the mini-rant! Anyway, what do you think of these new Almay products?
Thanks again, @beastiegram, for the great pics!
My favorite drugstore "foundation" is Almay's Smart Shade. I agree, they just aren't.. exciting. I would love if they would do a sheen-y highlight, a fluttery mascara. I look to the other brands for "new" stuff.
ReplyDeleteYes! Thank you! The products don't have be big or bold (not Almay's style anyway and that would be weird coming from them), but something subtle yet still exciting is totally possible. Sigh...
DeleteI just flat out can't get excited about Almay!! Period!! I think that whole concept of sorting products by eye color is DONE. There's just too many other good things going on with other drugstore and indie brands, plus great deals on prestige at this time of year. Almay (and Neutrogena) need a serious regal!
ReplyDeleteI don't get the eye color thing that Almay has going on. I prefer neutral browns and they usually package those for blue eyes. If the gel liners are made in Germany, I'd buy them. Almay puts out great coupons and with extra bucks they'd be practically free at CVS.
ReplyDeleteAnother Germanophile! Any eyeliner made in Germany instantly gets my attention. And I'm always on the hunt for deep purple leaning navy liners.
DeleteI'm surprised to see coupons in Canada, thats pretty rare.
ReplyDeleteAlmay hasn't even been on my radar in years even with Carrie Underwood pitching their products. I used to love their double ended liner in the purple tube. That was somewhere around 2006 I think.
ReplyDeleteI don't own any Almay products. Haven't bought any in several years as their products are too boring for me. I, too, don't even give them a glance when I'm checking out the new makeup. I can't understand how they even make a profit but someone has to be buying their stuff.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, ditto with the eyeliners made in Germany! At this point, if an eyeliner isn't made in Germany, I won't even bother buying it. Seriously, you cannot beat them. I would love to know their secret!
I really want to love Almay, but yeah... so boring. I love a few of their products, but I'm over the "eye color" based thing. And what with the new "American Look" advertising? Really!?
