eos Holiday 2015 Limited Edition Lip Balm Set
(retail: $8.99 at Ulta)
This set include spheres in Vanilla Bean, Sweet Mint, and Pomegranate Raspberry. These are these exact three flavors that were in the eos Holiday 2013 set (which is going for like $50 on eBay right now--crazy, right?). In case you aren't aware, Sweet Mint and Pomegranate Raspberry are permanent flavors, but Vanilla Bean is normally only available in the Smooth Stick. The Vanilla Bean sphere is a special, limited edition holiday-only sphere, first popping up in the Holiday 2013 set, and now in the Holiday 2015 set. (Hardcore eos collectors may recall that there was also a vanilla sphere in the 2012 Alice in Wonderland set, but that flavor was called Sweet Vanilla Nonsense.)
But that's not what's truly special about this set.
This set also includes two sheets of "decorative jeweled art to personalize your eos lip balm spheres." Fun, right?
I think it's great that eos is getting on board and releasing an "official" way to customize your eos spheres. I don't know if you're aware, but if you Google "DIY eos" you'll see that there are zillions of unofficial ways to customize your eos lip balms. There's everything from rhinestones to the galaxy sphere, to the Starbucks cup and hundreds of others. And in addition to decorating the OUTSIDE of eos spheres, if you want to get hardcore about it, there are hundreds of tutorials on how to reuse the spheres to make your own balms, like this cupcake with sprinkles, and there are even tutorials for how to repurpose your sphere for crayons and erasers, etc. My personal favorite? The USB flash drive.
Well I certainly didn't mean to go on a tangent about that, but since I'm pretty new to the "customize your eos" world, I figured that some of you might be too. So now you know that there's a whole network of eos lovers out there who are doing some really fun, creative things with these little spheres.
And now you can get this official customizable kit at Ulta (I just checked and I didn't see this on the Ulta website as of the time of this post, but I'm sure it will be there soon). And I'm guessing this set will hit all of the other usual retailers soon as well, so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks so much, @suprbunny, for the great sighting and pics. I really appreciate it!
ooooooo pretty! adding to my wish list :):):)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw dazzling twist, I thought it would be shimmery! LOL. Will probably pass on these unless there is a sale. I find the formulas too inconsistent to buy anymore. The ones I have I got in gift bags, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks G! Looking forward to this one. IG... @qsandmakeup
ReplyDeleteI had no idea this trend existed! I had pondered ways to reuse mine before, but it never went beyond a thought. So, after watching a few videos, I'm on a mission! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI wish I wasn't allergic to eos balms...they keep coming out with new flavors I want to try! :(
ReplyDeleteI expected shimmery too based on the title but wow who knew? If I ever have an empty one I might try some of these, but my dog will chew up any EOS or dupes I leave accidentally within reach :-/ I know they smell good but they apparently taste good too.
ReplyDeleteI bought this recently at Kohl's with a coupon! :)
