Swatches: Urban Decay Ammo Palettte (currently On Sale for $16 at Sephora)

I wanted to get this post up as quickly as possible because yesterday Sephora put the UD Ammo Palette + a mini brush and mini Primer Potion on their sale page for $16 HERE (regularly $34). Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to share that tip with us!

Since things tend to sell out pretty quickly on Sephora's sale page, I wanted to show you some quick swatches in case you were thinking about getting this one. I purchased this palette via the Urban Decay site when they were running those crazy flash sales for Black Friday--I got it for $10 + free shipping and I was REALLY happy about that since this palette contains so many of the original UD shades that I first fell in love with back in the late 90s when UD was still a new, fledgling brand. So if you are a hardcore, old-school fan who wants another shot at these original colors, or a new collector who has yet to try these shades, I say grab this one while you can for this price (and you'll get free shipping, of course, if you're signed up for Sephora Flash, which you should totally do if you haven't already).

Urban Decay Ammo Palette
(retail: 34 - now on sale at Sephora for $16; 4.0 oz)

PLEASE NOTE: The cover art appears to be different than my palette above--you will receive the cover with the skull on it pictured HERE.

Keep reading for some swatches...

As you can see, this palette comes with a mirror, and you will also receive a mini Primer Potion and a mini brush which you can see HERE (my palette came with a double-ended sponge applicator instead of the brush).

Just for size comparison, I put this next to a WnW 8-pan palette.

All shadows swatched over UD Primer Potion:

This first photo above was taken at an angle to better illustrate the shimmer in the top row of shades.

This second photo above was taken at an angle to better illustrate the shimmer in the bottom row of shades. I love that gold sheen that runs through the blue shade, Shattered.

And in this third photo, I wanted to call your attention to the five shades in this palette that contain glitter (as marked above). My camera does a terrible job at picking up glitter, so I wanted to be sure that you knew that all five of those shades contain a healthy dose of glitter. The rest of the shades do NOT contain glitter, but they are all very shimmery (most are quite metallic, actually).

Again, if you're an old-school UD fan who wants another shot at these original colors, or a new collector who hasn't yet tried these shades, I think $16 is a great deal. All of these colors are so vivid and pigmented--they're even more beautiful in person.

Did you already pick up this palette from the Sephora sale page? Or did you buy it during the UD Black Friday flash sales (or before that)? I'd love to hear from you!

  1. I also got this one during the Black Friday $10 sale. It was a great deal, but I'm sad to have missed out on the brush and the primer. For an extra $6, those would be handy to have.

  4. How is the pigmentation and wear time on the eyeshadows?

    1. Excellent for both! The only issue I have with this palette is that there's fallout with some of the glitter shades....but that always seems to be the case with shadows that contain lots of glitter.

  6. Are smog and sin the same as what's in the naked palette?

    1. No. I own both and I can tell you that Sin is a touch cooler and more pink in the Naked 1 palette. And Smog is a shade or two darker in the Naked 1 palette. So if you were looking to replenish thoss exact shades based on Naked 1, you won't get that here. Hope that helps!

  7. I've had this pallet for years and never use it. I purchased it, honestly, like 13 years ago! Maybe I'll pull it out and give it another try. It's in pristine condition. Thanks for the reminder!

  10. Thanks for the heads up! That gift card I got at the holidays is finally coming out. First UD shadow I ever bought was Mildew, back in '97, and it and Shattered are old faves I haven't owned in years. Now they'll be mine again!

    1. Yes!! Mildew was the second shade I bought in 1997 (Road Stripe was the first, and I cannot believe they brought that back in the Vice LTD palette!). Yay for old school UD fans! xoxo

  13. I wonder how long this palette has been in production? This is the very FIRST high-end palette I ever purchased. Now I'm $1,000s deep in palettes and never pull this little guy out. I honestly can't believe they're still making it! Thanks for bringing back the memories!

  14. I just bought this and the brown liquid liner that UD is on sale for 10$ with my flash shipping. Honestly Sephora is going to see more of my money now that I don't have to pay for shipping to make little purchases!
