The Lipstick League Question of the Week
Do you use face primer? If so, what are some of your favorites?
G's answer: Well if you caught my Eclos primer review a while back, you know I found a new holy grail product in that one. But a kind reader on Twitter mentioned to me the other day that it's no longer on the Freeman website, so I fear that it might have been discontinued (insert very-sad-face here). I don't know if that's true since Freeman hasn't yet responded to my inquiry on Twitter, but if that IS the case, I'll just revert revert back to my previous holy grail face primer from Black Radiance that I've been using for years (literally, since I reviewed it back in 2010). I also like Rimmel's new-for-2014 Stay Matte Primer but I find that it doesn't play well with all of my foundations (it can make certain foundations look a bit cakey, but it works great with others).

I stopped using a primer when I started using a good Korean BB cream. Primer was one more step & I was glad to drop it.
ReplyDeleteELF Mineral primer and then Porefessional for spot priming where my pores are at their largest.
ReplyDeletemybring skin is oily and prone to breakouts. Should I wear primer? Which one?
ReplyDeleteI use that Rimmel primer. It's the best for my super oily skin! Nothing else I've found yet works as good!
ReplyDeleteThe Monistat anti-chafe one. Weird. Multipurpose. Awesomeness :)
ReplyDeleteI used to use Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer in the Fall/Winter & Ulta Fabulous Face Foundation Primer in Spring/Summer, but after stockpiling the Ulta primer during the last sale, I find it just fine to use in the cooler months as well. I find that when I use primer, my blush doesn’t fade nearly as quick. I also like that the Ulta primer comes in a tube, often goes on sale, can be stacked w/coupons & the tube can easily be cut in half when nearly empty for another week’s worth of use.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that Eclos primer has been discontinued. I bought it on clearance before you wrote that review.
ReplyDeleteI very rarely use a primer. I've never found one that came across as essential. I do love the Cover Girl 3-in-1 foundation, though. I believe that has some kind of primer in it. I'm already on my third or fourth bottle of it, and I hardly ever use anything up.
