What type of eyeliner do you reach for the most?
A few years ago, I would have said automatic pencil liners (I love Revlon Colorstay, Styli-Style and Physicians Formula automatic liners, to name a few). But over the past few years, I've really embraced black felt-tip liners. Specifically my Jordana Fabu Liner in Black (my holy grail felt tip liner--it's a steal for $2.99) and lately I've been loving the Milani Eye Tech Perfection Liner that I reviewed here (so great for fine, precise lines).
It's so easy to just do a quick line on my upper lash line, wing it out a bit, slap on some mascara, a bit of blush, a sheer red lippie and I'm out the door. I can even skip eyeshadow if I'm in a hurry and still looked pulled together.
"gel" pencils
ReplyDeletePencils on the weekdays, gel creamliners on the weekends (or weekdays when I have hit the snooze button fewer times before finally getting out of bed.)
ReplyDeleteMe too!! During the work week I typically wear pencil eyeliner. But on the weekends I much prefer my go to gel liner for cat eyes
DeleteTwist-up liners, especially Milani and Palladio.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with Cover Girl's Ink It gel eyeliner. It is phenomenal. Glides on without any issues. Be advised: it is automatic but not retractable.
ReplyDeleteI often have ''hurry-up'' mornings so now I don't line my eyes as often, but if I do, it's with my holy grail, also a 2,99$ steal, it's the LA Colors Grafix Liner. Not all the shades are as good as the black one but I really like this one, it's a felt tip and it gives thin and thick lines... ahhh :) love it! Love the Wednesday questions btw :*
ReplyDeletePhysicians Formula eye booster liquid liner is basically perfection. I want to get my hands on the Jesse's Girl liquid eyeliner because it looks like it could be a dupe.. and $4 cheaper! I can't seem to find it in Rite Aid. Is it only available online?
ReplyDeleteThe Jessie's girl liner is soo much better then the PF one. It's blacker and smoother. I used to see it at my rite aid, but I haven't seen it in months. :(
DeleteThe last few times I have been to Rite Aid, it has been on the promo shelves near the Julie G polishes, so check there before giving up. Good Luck, it is my favorite felt tip pen liner!
DeleteI own both the PF and JG liners and have reviewed them both. I actually prefer the JG version. :)
DeleteI haven't seen the JG liner at my local Rite Aids in a while (it was in counter displays when it first came out in March 2013) but you can still order it on the JG website (free everyday shipping on orders of $20 or more). Hope that helps!
The PF Eye Booster (in a silver pen) is my fav too, if we're talking about the same one...with the lash serum built in? I made the mistake of purchasing the jumbo fatty one (felt marker type also w serum, same line) and I hate the formula, it smudges and transfers to the crease...just a big mess! I did try the Jesse's Girl last year (also in a silver pen w a fine brush) and liked it a lot, but also cannot seem to find it at Rite Aid anymore, and will not order online.
DeleteGel eyeliners, feel intimidated by liquid or felt tipped eyeliners.
ReplyDeleteI have hooded eyes so I very seldom line my lash line, and if I do it's usually smudgy liner on basically a bare eye. I tightline pretty much every day though. I prefer retractable pencils but also have some sharpenable ones that are my go-to (Maybelline masterdrama, Rimmel scandaleyez, Jordana wp, NYC wp, the new UD velvet is really nice and I have one Sephora wp pencil that is also great). For smudgy lash line I like the Stila smudgesticks (those are also pretty good on TL/WL), PF shimmer strips, Avon glimmersticks (especially the diamond line), and NYX slide on.
ReplyDeleteIt's really interesting that the Fabu Liner is your HG because I tried it and wasn't so much a fan! I found it too pointy for my liking and now the Barry M felt tip one is my fave :)
ReplyDeleteEither a gel liner, or a liquid liner. Markers are fine and super easy, but I haven't found one that I liked that lasted long enough for me to truly love it.
ReplyDeleteI love a good liquid eyeliner from time to time, but my daily routine is usually lining my upper lids with black eyeshadow
ReplyDeleteGels. I have been using PF gel trio for blue eyes for several years. Stocked up when they discontinued several years ago and they were 75% off. I have one left but I want find a holy grail liquid. Right now on am trying ELF professional liquid. It's good not great
ReplyDeleteI use a cheap Avon brown eyeliner pencil (just on my top lid) and it works just fine. Mark used to make kohl sticks in a nice brown that I loved a lot more but they stopped making them after I got good and hooked!
ReplyDeleteI know its not cheap, but it is the best eyeliner. Kat Von D's tattoo liquid eyeliner. It doesn't smudge, is waterproof and perfect.
ReplyDeleteLately I've been loving the NYC felt tip liner.
ReplyDeleteI like that PF eyeliner, but now want to find the Julie G. (especially if it's cheaper). Lately I've been leaning more toward felt tips. I like how you can make a super fine line and make lashes appear fuller and more prominent or how you can get a cat eye. Though I still do like auto pencils, too, but more for smudgy stuff.
ReplyDeletefelt tip liquid liner - black
ReplyDeleteI use Revlon Colorstay in Charcoal, my HG! I also use a gel liner in a pot on the upper lid only when I have extra time or want more drama.
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a great, waterproof, cheap, liquid liner in Charcoal because black is too stark for me in liquid liners. Any suggestions?
old school pencil eyeliner :)
ReplyDeleteNYC felt tip liner (I intentionally smudge it though) or darker shades of Color Tattoos, or darker shadows on a dampened brush. I don't even own any pencil liners.
ReplyDeleteI love the elf black liquid liner but I like it more because of the brush. Does anyone know if there is a better eye liner with the same brush as elf? TIA =)
ReplyDeleteI recently became addicted to NYC's liquid liner! It's cheap and works really well. Stays all day and is pretty easy to apply.
