Spotted: Sally Hansen Holiday 2013 Ombre and Nail Strip Value Sets at Target

Exciting news to share with you today, Target shoppers! There are some new, Target-Exclusive Sally Hansen Holiday 2013 Value Sets now popping up at Target, and if your first reaction is "they're probably just repromotes of permanent products" you're right but you're also WRONG! Keep reading for the details...

Sally Hansen Holiday 2013 Target-Exclusive Ombre and Nail Strip Sets

Longtime reader The Polished Mommy spotted this display at her local Target recently (also in this display: the new Triple Shine nail polishes) and took lots of pics to share with us.

First let's take a look at the  Ooh La La Ombre sets:

Sally Hansen Holiday 2013 Target-Exclusive Ooh La La Ombre Sets
(retail: $5 per set)

These are full-size bottles (0.4 oz) so that's a great value at $5 per set, since Xtreme Wears retail for around $2.99 each at most retailers. Here's a closer look at all three sets:

Some of the shades in these Ombre sets appear to be regular shades from the Xtreme Wear permanent collection, BUT LOOK HERE:

That is Confetti Cake, from the Limited Edition Fall 2013 Rent The Runway Collection! (Click here for more pics of Confetti Cake.) It's hard to tell what the glitters are in the other two sets, but it's definitely worth a closer inspection if you find these sets at your local Target!

Reader Anita on Facebook also spotted these sets at her local Target and was nice enough to also share a pic of the Playfully Purple set:

Next up, the Salon Effects sets:

Sally Hansen Holiday 2013 Target-Exclusive Salon Effects Get The Look Sets
(retail: $10 per set)

Each set contains "3 FULL SETS OF 16 NAIL POLISH STRIPS" so, again, quite the value for just $10 per set (as we all know, that's the price of just one set of Salon Effects at most retailers). Here's a closer look at all three sets:

I believe that all of the designs featured in these sets are from the permanent Salon Effects collection, but please correct me if I'm wrong about that!

I must confess, I have never thought to use Salon Effects in a nail art capacity. It looks like they've placed them on top of regular nail polish in these illustrations, which I have never attempted before. As for the various designs created in these looks, I'm assuming you cut those with scissors BEFORE you peel off the paper backing. Have any of you tried nail art with these before? Thoughts?

Thanks so much, The Polished Mommy, for the great sighting and pics! And thanks Anita, for the close-up pic of the purple ombre set!

  1. Yup. You can cut them into different shapes and then peel and stick. Nice way to use the ones that are too big or too small for your nails.

  4. I would love these but from the previous ones I purchased I had to cut mine to use them as just accent pieces. I wish I could just wear them as full coverage, but due to the high arch/curve of my nail bed they always pucker. :(

  5. I purchased the pink and purple ombré sets. The perfectly pink set has fuchsia power, confetti punch, and bubble gum. The playfully purple set has deep purple, confetti cake, and violet voltage.
