These glitter polishes look beautiful, don't they? I'm loving that silver with the chunky black and silver (os that white??) glitter. And the red on the right almost reminds of a chunkier version of the much-loved Maybelline Autumn Leaves from Fall 2011.

You have no idea how much I've been hoping for a medium matte brown Color Tattoo. So I'm basically saying THIS right now.

The three color tattoos are matte...the swatch across all three by the side is MAC Painterly [Paint Pot]. Nude Pink is more mauve pink, not an exact dupe [for MAC Painterly] but close enough for people that don't want to spend 18.00 for MAC Painterly. I'm guessing Just Beige is close to MAC Soft Ochre [Paint Pot] but since I don't own that one I can't tell for sure.A yellow-toned cream color like Just Beige can double as a color-correcting lid primer like Benefit Lemon Aid (to take away redness). So this could be a great multi-tasker (but duh...all Color Tattoos are multi-taskers since you can use them as primer, shadow and liner).
Hopefully this post has given you enough information to help you decide what you might want to buy when you find this collection in person. I know I've got my shopping list ready to go...now just to find the money to pay for it all. Ha!

oooooooo!! I'm so excited! I've been waiting forever for maybelline to come out with matte neutral colors like these, and of course I just bought mac soft ochre paint pot, oh well. I'm still snatching these up as soon as i can find them!

Working for Ulta has its perks! I'm usually the one who sets up these displays... we do tend to get them 2-3 weeks after other stores though. If anyone has aa swatch of the lippies please share!!!!

Omg finally I can get a matte brown cream eyeshadow and not have to splurge on Bobbi Brown's Suede or the like im so happy.

Hmmm..... I'm beginning to think it's G, not Revlon, who has the evil plans to empty out all our pockets! How else do you explain all the awesome collections she's posted about in the last few days?! Seriously, I'm really glad Maybelline is providing consumers with some of the kinds of items they've been desperately wanting for so long. :)
ReplyDeleteSomething else I had to note is: how freakin' awesome is it to see a gorgeous Asian model as the "face" of a display of drugstore makeup?! Having grown up in a diverse part of CA, I know there are just as many beautiful Asian Americans as there are lovely Hispanic, Caucasian or African Americans who love makeup, but we rarely see them in our drugstore ads. Yay for diversity!
I don't think I've ever been this excited about a maybelline release before. Definitely going to have to hunt these down. Thanks G!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to add some info of what little I can remember about the polishes when I saw them in the store!
ReplyDeleteThe silver one was really interesting and had this slight gold/somewhat green shift to the silver base, along with some bigger silver glitter. And the red one, Crushed Crimson (I caved and bought it!) is a deep red base with fine red and gold shimmer, plus small round gold glitter and hex red glitter. Sooo pretty! Also, if anyone is interested, they're labelled "Brocades" polishes.
Sounds cool! Another new nail polish finish. I wonder what they look like when they dry...def. going to be on the lookout for these.

ReplyDeleteMy bed bath and beyond has the collection but some lady decided to buy all 6 color tattoos, a replica of each color, and not leave any for any one else. I asked the lady that worked there and there are no other locations in Dallas that carry these and once they're gone they're gone. So thank you lady who bought all the color tattoos on park ln!

DeleteI wanted to share that I contacted Maybelline New York Canada via facebook, and they informed me that Canada will ONLY get "the Color Show polishes from that collection: Color Show Brocades, Color Show Nail Falsies", and none of the other products.

DeleteYeah, my Bed Bath & Beyond had the collection up today but another shopper & I both literally watched in shock as some lady in front of us grabbed EVERYTHING off the display. :( I managed to get one Refined Red lippie that she dropped by accident on her way to the register & I love the color :) but I really wanted the color tattoos & red color show polish too. The other summer color tattoos never came to my Ulta or drugstores/etc so I'm worried that same thing will happen again... :/

ReplyDeleteI saw this display in BB&B today. Talked to an employee and she said the Color Tattoos were gone within hours of first putting the display up. (And they haven't restocked) I left with an Elixir and 3 Revlon Matte/Lacquer balms. Still a good trip. Hope the LE Color Tattoos end up at other drugstores before their "limited" run runs out.

ReplyDeleteSaw the collection at the BBB in Baton Rouge. The blushes are pink weave, plum shimmer and bronze rapestry. They look extremely shimmery but pretty in the packaging. One of the polishes in the display, Brocades looks gorg in the bottle.

ReplyDeleteThe BBB needs to have a Harmon Face Values inside in order to have the makeup displays. For example, the downtown Seattle store has one, and the West Seattle one does not. You can look on the company's site to see which BBB has a Harmon Face Values.

ReplyDeleteGeesh after much grueling foot work to MANY stores as well as calls and fb post to Maybelline I had given up hope. Today on a trip to return something to CVS I decided to look around to see what new perfume gift sets they had for their sale. Much to my surprise these it was the almighty Gilded in Gold collection. The display was full minus one of each ct so I gladly snatched those first although no one else was in the aisle. I also bought one of each blush, lipstick and nail polish since those 2 colors were not included in the brocade collection of just polish. It's a shame but I'm tickled pink. Ladies I found the display in the back of the store on the "look up" shelves.

I just found them yesterday at a CVS and bought Just Beige and Nude Pink. The Just Beige works as a eye brightener for me, and the Nude Pink is a perfect shade for a base color (to make my shadows pop).
