Big Lots Friends & Family Haul!

So, who else went to Big Lots yesterday for their Friends & Family 20% off sale? If you did, I'd LOVE to know what you got--leave a comment below and share with us!

Here's what I got (I actually purchased more, but this is the beauty-related stuff):

Big Lots Friends & Family Haul

Clockwise:
  • EcoTools Alicia Silverstone 5-piece Brush Set ($4; $5 before 20% discount)
  • Blistex Revive & Restore Lip Balm ($1.20; $1.50 before 20% discount)
  • SallyHansen Xtreme Wear nail color in Blinding Blue and Red Rebel ($1.20 x 2; $1.50 before 20% discount)

I think that the EcoTools set originally retailed for $14.99, so the total estimated retail value of this haul is $23.96.  I paid: $7.60 for everything you see here. SWEET!

A closer look at the brush set:

 Love this bag!

Four full-size EcoTools brushes and a cute bag for $4? Seriously, who could say no?

About the lip balm: DON'T JUDGE! I know, I know, I need another lip balm like hole in the head. But I wanted this one when it first released last year and I restrained myself. But for $1.20? I just had to try it.

The two Xtreme Wears are shades that I don't already own, and 1) I love any and all Xtreme Wear shades of blue 2) I have a thing for corals right now. So there! (PS: I believe that one of you said here on the blog that both of these shades were limited edition 2012 colors--if that was you, please comment here so I can thank you for that info!).

What did YOU get at Big Lots during the F&F sale yesterday? Tell me, tell me!

  2. There is OPI, tons and tons of LAColors and Revoln and Sinful Colors Metalics? At mine. They also had that brush set. I was super overwhelmed and didn't buy anything because there was too much!

    1. I'm super jealous. My big lots hasn't gotten new products in weeks.

  3. Nice haul :).

I only found two Revlon Nail Polish two packs - Surf, Mysterious, Bewitching, and Impulsive. I'm not complaining, since I got all 4 polishes for $3.60 (plus tax) - less than ONE of them elsewhere! And I've had my eye on Impulsive and Mysterious for ages....so a win all the way around!

  4. I didn't go to the sale, but stopped by today looking for a body pillow. We had a few more of the nail polish sets from no name brands. a TON of not very good Revlon polish and the Eco tools. I was tempted, but passed.

Unfortunately, our BG isn't well maintained and they take no pride in making the store look decent.

    1. I have the same problem Emily R. My Big Lots is not well maintained and I am lucky if I find the 2 for $2 Revlon nail polishes....and sometimes I don't even find those.

  5. I got the ecotools brush set, too, and some Jergens natural glow moisturizer with SPF that has lots of good reviews. I'm so disappointed at the lack of nail polish at my store. Lately they've had a handful of the Revlon 2-packs with nothing exciting, some extremely awful-looking no-name sets, and three bottles of opi pink crackle. Get it together, my store!!

  6. Red Rebel was from a LE collection that was at Walgreens last summer. This blog has a pic of the display: http://stuffiswatched.blogspot.com/2012/07/new-sally-hansen-xtreme-wear-for-sher-bert.html

I'm not sure if it is the same blue

  9. I got a bunch of Physican's Formula Baked Eye shadows, the same Sally Hansen nail polishes you got, a few Revlon super lustrous (old style) but different colors than CVS has clearanced out, Maybelline Color Sensation lipsticks! Hmmm I got some great stuff.

  11. I got some awesome things. I got several Revlon super lustrous lipglosses (old style) that were different colors than what CVS clearanced out, the same Sally Hansen polishes you got, Maybelline Color Sensation lipstick in Glisten UP Pink, 3 Physican's Formula Bake Eyeshadows, Softsoft peppermint holiday flavor.... I think that was it. I grabbed so many non makeup items as well.

  12. It seems that Big Lots often gets some really good stuff from CVS, but the availability of it is really hit or miss. I scored big at my local Big Lots, and one of the polishes had the CVS sale tag still on it. I've purchased Orly polishes that have that same tag on them. But the selection varies widely from store to store- I have 4 stores near me but the selection varies widely between them, even when I visit more than 1 store within the same week.

I found 12 nail products at $1.00 each and had to keep myself in check to keep from purchasing even more. I got a bunch of Sally Hansen, Essie and other polishes, which I posted about recently. I spent almost an hour sitting on the floor sorting through 3 boxes of random polishes and beauty products, but I felt like a lottery winner when I left the store!

  13. I was so excited for my haul! I got 2 Revlon Moon Drops lipsticks, $1.60 each, in Peach Silk and Lilac Champagne (which is neither lilac nor champagne colored - it's a fuchsia creme), an e.l.f. defining eye brush for $0.76, SOHO angled blender brush for $2 (it reminds me of the Sigma brush that Emily Noel uses to blend her undereye concealer), and CG eyeshadow single in Lime Alive for $2.

This sale was such a win! However my store's makeup section was a little more sparse than I would've liked.

  15. I got an E.L.F. smudge brush $.95 an e.l.f. bronzer/blush duo with a mini kabuki brush $2.95 & an Maybelline eyestudio eyeshadow in Tantalizing Teal which is so gorgeous $2.20. I passed on the EcoTools brushes since I already have all the new brushes. Very happy with my finds.

  16. Didn't go yesterday, but stopped by today and got 9 Essie polishes for $1 each. What a steal! I was debating on the bottles of XenTan for $4 that I know are much more at Ulta but passed. Anyone tried that brand of selftanner before?

  17. Jealous of that brush set!! I don't think my store had that.

  18. WHY does my BL never have ANYTHING that you all find at your stores???? WAHHHH!!!

  19. I wish my store had the brushes! i picked up some crummy elf ones instead. I got the purple poolish instead of these two.. the formula is definitely different than the regular polishes but still great for $1.50! :) you should try the epielle facial wipes too. i swear by them 60 for $2 or 30 for $1
