NEW CoverGirl Lashblast Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara

Big thanks to reader Elizabeth Hui for letting me know that the new Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara that I first told you about in May is now up on the Target website (now available for purchase online):

NEW CoverGirl Lashblast Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara
(retail: $6.99 at Target)

From the Target website:
The clump crusher brush combined with a buildable fiber-stretch formula give 200% more volume and length to your lashes. Clump Crusher's innovative curved brush helps sweep away clumps while building volume and length so lashes appear volumized, longer, and separated.
I didn't really care for the original Clump Crusher (it didn't deliver enough volume for my barely-there lashes) but since this one claims to give "200% more volume" I'm thinking I need to give it a shot! Thoughts?

Thanks so much, Elizabeth Hui, for the heads-up about this one!

  1. I saw this mascara at the store and held it up right next to original clump crusher if you would like the photo! In person, even when I look up close, I can barely see a difference! It looks as if the extensions version has slightly longer bristles, but I mean it looks the same. I won't be buying it because I wasn't a fan of CC myself.

  2. I live claims like "200%." I have yet to see any mascara do that. I have the original clump crusher and it's not bad.

    1. I interpret those claims to mean it will *hopefully* give more volume than the original. Nothing more, nothing less! ;)

  3. I have both the Clump Crusher and Clump Crusher Extensions and I don't notice a difference between the two at all. Also, I noticed that the original Clump Crusher has the whole "200% more volume" on the front of the package as well. So, if you don't care for the original, I'm guessing the Extensions won't yield any better results (unfortunately).

  4. I tried the CC but was not impressed with the results. I may give this a shot, but not too sure yet.

    1. Glad I'm not alone! I know some people really liked it but it did nothing for me. :(

  5. i really look forward to reading your thoughts on this mascara. however, lets all keep in mind that almost all mascara make claims for outrageous volume. we cant expect to see " 200% more volume "

    1. After 30 years of wearing drugstore makeup (I'm 42) and writing this blog for almost five years, I tend to take all claims at face value! Seeing "200% more volume" gets me excited only because that may mean it will actually give *some* volume to my lashes (vs. the original). Hope that clears it up!

  6. I like the original Clump Crusher enough that I will try this, though these "flanker" mascaras based off the original rarely live up. (See The Falsies and all of its companions.)

  7. I didn't care for the original CC either. In fact, I was pretty disappointed. I had seen an article in Allure magazine about the "science" behind this new brush design, so I was anticipating a great mascara. This didn't do anything for me and I doubt I'll try the new version either. Lash Blast (in the orange tube) is still the best, in my opinion ( of Cover Girl mascaras).

  8. Hey G. I didn't like the clump crusher either, didn't do much for me in terms of length OR volume(bummer). I loveeee layering a coat of Maybelline The Rocket underneath a coat of the Clump Crusher. Big giant false looking eye lashes for me. (I don't use the waterproof versions though, I don't know how it would do)

  9. I've heard that this performs the same as the original Clump Crusher :( Such a gimmick.

  10. I was not a fan of the original CC, it did nothing for my lashes. However I bought this one last time I was out and it gives me twice the length of the original. Like the other lash blasts you have to build it for the best results, just be patient. Makes a very good base for a volumizing mascara.
