Yesterday I posted info about the new Sally Hansen jumbo lip pencils called Colorfast Tint + Moisture Balms. In that post, I wondered aloud if the shade Blackberry Honey might be similar to the iconic Clinique shade, Black Honey. Well, wonder no longer: reader Peaisms not only purchased Blackberry Honey, but she was nice enough to share a swatch comparison of it next to Black Honey!

Sally Hansen Colorfast Tint + Moisture Balm in Blackberry Honey
vs.
Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey
Not a dupe, but they're in the same color family. As Peaisms indicated, Blackberry Honey is a deeper, plummier shade. But if you have always thought that Black Honey was a tad too light for you, Blackberry Honey might just the ticket.
Peaisms said that the Sally Hansen Colorfast Moisture + Tint Balms retail for $5.79 at her CVS. She said they have "only the faintest almost vanilla-y scent" and that they are "very sheer and feel more like a light lip balm."
Do you think Blackberry Honey might be a good shade for you? Have you spotted these new Sally Hansen jumbo lip pencils in your area yet? Thoughts?
Thanks so much, Peaisms, for the great comparison swatches and info!
I am so glad for this post! I am glad Blackberry Honey is not a dupe. Black Honey was always s bit too off for Me and I couldn't figure out why since ssssoooo many women love it! I can't wait to see these impersonal.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I definitely want to try this.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued. I like Black Honey, but it's too pricey for my lip tint addiction. While this isn't the same, it looks like a good alternative.
ReplyDeleteDo you know off hand if these have SPF?
ReplyDeleteThere's a link at the beginning of this post that will take you to my original post with the full list of ingredients. No SPF in these.
DeleteCan't wait to find these, I think I'm addicted to all these lip gloss/balm pencils, heh. Just ordered some ELF ones too, have CG, Revlon, Victorias Secret and love them all in different ways.
ReplyDeleteI wore a Clinique lipstick in the late '90s (with the green packaging) that was simply called Honey. Does anyone know if Black Honey is the same? I loved Honey...
ReplyDeleteAny idea if these are going to hit Rite Aid.
ReplyDeleteBased on your review I purchased SH's "Blackberry Honey" jumbo lip pencil. I had a bit of trouble tracking it down, because not all retailers (e.g. Walgreen's, CVS, etc.) carry the SH lip line.
ReplyDeleteHere's my take on it; it's very close to Clinique's beloved "Black Honey", but also differs. How? Well, the consistency is firmer, less of an "oily" feel on the lips, and the shade is slightly darker, which, for me, is a plus. And the biggest difference? Well, duh, the price! Which definitely works for me.
