The Weekly Drugstore Makeup Sales (5/27 - 6/2)

For a listing of the beauty sales at Ulta, Target and Kmart this week, please click here.

I'd like to take a moment to ask new readers to please read my permanent disclaimer, which I run every single week on this post (in italics) right before the listings below. I've been receiving feedback lately asking if I'm listing drugstore sales that are regional and only available in my specific area (San Diego). THE ANSWER IS NO. I gather my information from national ads, so if you do not see the sales listed in this post in YOUR area that means that, for one reason or another, your local drugstore does not participate in national sales (there are some stores in tourist areas that do not run national sales, or there may be another reason why your store is not running these sales). I've been listing weekly drugstore sales on this blog every week for almost three years now, and I can tell you that about 98% of readers of Nouveau Cheap DO find these sales at their local drugstores. If this were not the case, I would have stopped doing this years ago--trust me! I hope that clears things up, and if you're frustrated that your drugstores aren't running these sales, please discuss it with your local store manager if you'd like more information. Thanks!

PS: The only instance where I know for sure that not all regions will have access to the same sale is when it comes to CVS, and it's a very specific instance: NYC and Wet n Wild. There are regions in the US where CVS sells NYC cosmetics, and there are regions in the US where CVS sells Wet n Wild cosmetics. To my knowledge, I don't believe there are CVS locations that sell a complete selection of BOTH brands. So if there's a sale on NYC during a particular week, that USUALLY means that Wet n Wild is also on sale that week (depending on what area you're in). Since the national ads I tend to read are for regions that carry NYC, that's the info I post here. But thanks to many of you, I now know that if NYC is on sale during a given week, that probably means that Wet n Wild is also on sale. So thanks to everyone who takes time each week to fill us in on the WnW sales at CVS!

CVS shoppers: This week all Spoiled by Wet n Wild nail polishes are on sale for $0.99 each. And there's an awesome deal on Physicians Formula skincare this week, folks! Buy any 1 Physicians Formula skincare product and you'll receive $15 back in Extra Bucks! Since PF skincare products retail at CVS for between $11.99 and $21.99, this is a heck of a deal.

Rite Aid shoppers:  I'd like to apologize and clarify something I posted a few days ago about the Revlon 40% off sale going on this week. I THOUGHT that this sale included nail color, but after looking more closely at my receipt from this haul, I realized that I did not receive 40% off the polishes I purchased; I was charged full price. So, to clarify, the 40% off Revlon sale ONLY includes face, eye and lip cosmetics. (Side note: Revlon nail enamel is on sale for $2.99 this week and the only exclusion in the ad is ColorStay nail enamel. That means I should have gotten my scented polish and French Mix polishes for $2.99 each, but I didn't. I'll need to go back and get a price adjustment for those!). Oh, and don't forget that there is still a $2 off coupon on the Video Values site for Revlon Brow Pencils and also PhotoReady 3D Mascara, which you can certainly use during this sale (the new June Video Values coupons will replace the May coupons on June 3rd so you've still got time to print them). This is the last week of Nail Extravaganza Month, so if your nail polish purchases add up to $30 by June 2nd, you'll receive $10 back in +UP Rewards. And don't forget that there are nail-related coupons on the Video Values site (Wet n Wild Neon Crackles, Salon Express nail stamping kit, Jesse's Girl Julie G. Collection, etc.).

Walgreens shoppers: A HUGE thanks to reader Annette for the heads-up that there's a Wet n Wild MegaSaver for June: B2G1FREE Wet n Wild Megalast and Fast Dry Nail Polishes. This is a month-long sale that runs till the end of June--thanks again Annette for the scoop! Rarely do I see a Walgreens Bonus Buy that makes my jaw drop, but that's what happened this week when I saw that Lumene skincare is on sale for 40% off. Whoo hoo! Also, Organix haircare and Salon Grafix haircare are BOGOFREE (maybe I'll finally try that Salon Grafix cleansing conditioner I first showed you here).

  1. My rite aid would not give me the $2.99 promo for the French Mix polish. They were a little snippy and said that the deal doesn't apply to those. I tried, to no avail, to argue. But...they wouldn't budge. It just wasn't scanning on sale. Anybody else have the same problem? Let me know if they give you a price adjustment.

  2. Hi G. Thanks for listing all the makeup sales. As for the SG cleansing conditioner I am halfway through my first bottle and I loooove it! I might have to get more during this sale. Just a heads up that my bottle had a "try me free" card attached to it, so lookout for that!

  4. Hi I just wanted to mention I did get the second product the oxygen face wash half off when I bought the Nuance macadamia scrub. Not sure why if that's not normal, it was a manager that did the transaction and was very kind.

  5. I realize that living in NYC there are times when a national sale doesn't show up at my stores. That being said, this list is very helpful because MOSTLY they do show up and if people get snipey, guess what? They can do their own work and check their local ad on the website before going in store.

I have two CVSes I go to... Both have NYC cosmetics and one has the spoiled polishes but NEITHER have wet n wild cosmetics.

  6. I am having the same problem with Revlon french mix, sale price doesnt show up. G let us know if they give you price adjustment.

Also at CVS Physicians Formula, the hydrating line, blue color prices are running at $5.25 for me (another store had sticker $4.99 but run out, went to 2 diff CVS). The $15 extra bucks doesnt print out though, but i asked and showed them the ad and the manager print out the $15 ecb for me. I got 3 items almost free! ( but i may return eye cream, online review is bad, i should of checked before buying on impulse :-p )

Have a wonderful Memorial day G!! And everyone
