My Ulta haul

I've mentioned several times on this blog that I live pretty far away from the nearest Ulta in my city. But last week I decided to make the trek to pick up the Beauty Steal of the Day (the Bare Minerals eye primer for $10). Sadly, I got there too late and it was already sold out, but of course I had to buy SOMETHING, and well, I went a little overboard!

The great thing is that my grand total for everything you see here was just $19.35 (including tax)! So let's take a closer look (by the way, everything you see here is also available on the Ulta website):

First up, I finally purchased the Essence Nail Art Stampy Kit! This kit retails for a whopping $2.99 and it includes a stamper, one plate (with seven designs), and a scraper. What a steal, right?

Also, I was VERY happy to see that Essence also sells nail stamping POLISHES! They only come in black and white, so I picked up the white one. These retail for $1.99 each (they're tiny though at just 0.16 oz, but you don't really need much, so it should last a while).

I also purchased an Essence Nail Art Magnetics polish in the shade Magic Wand (a taupey lavender). These magnetic polishes retail for $2.49 (again, what a steal, right?) but the thing is, the magnets are sold separately (I believe they retail for $2.99). Since I already have magnets from the Pretty Woman Magnetix polish I bought at Rite Aid a while back, I figured I could just use those and save myself three bucks.

I also bought an Essence Colour & Go polish for a whopping $0.99. The shade is Where Is The Party? and I just couldn't resist that green and purple duochrome!

Since Ulta cosmetics are currently BOGOFREE (through March 31st), I decided to pick up some products and give them a try. I actually have received several requests over the past few months for a review of some Ulta eyeshadows, so I purchased one shimmer (Mystique) and one matte (Sable) which I will review soon. These eyeshadow singles retail for $7 each, but with the BOGOFREE sale they were just $3.50 each.

And finally, I purchased two Ulta nail polishes, which are also BOGOFREE through March 31st. I bought that lovely lavender with gold shimmer (Lav-ish) which kind of reminds me of Revlon Perplex but lighter. I also bought a brownish-taupe with gold shimmer (Taupe on a Rope). These polishes retail for $6 each but with the BOGOFREE they were $3 each.

The grand total before tax would have been $34.46 for everything I purchased. But with the BOGOFREE sale and the $3.50 off a $10 purchase coupon, my total came down to $17.96 before tax. Not bad!

If there's anything in this post that you'd like me to review (aside from the eyeshadows which I'm already planning on reviewing) please leave a comment and let me know!

  1. I bought the essence magnetics earlier this month & had to take them back. (with the use of their magnet) I could only get them to work about 1/2 the time & only over a small portion of my nail. I ended up splurging & going for the China Glaze which have worked out perfectly for me.

  3. Yay for Lav-ish, it's probably my favorite Ulta polish!

Also I was going to ask if you know if WnW Haze Of Love is being discontinued? I saw a Walgreens clearancing out it in the new bottle form which I thought was a bit weird. But figured I'd ask you.

  6. Great haul, G! You sure can shop, girl. I'd love to see swatches of the nail polishes, without the magnet first. I think they would look terrific on you with your skintone (as will the eye shadows)! Thanks ;)

  10. Awww, neither of the Ultas near me ("near" being in San Jose, an hour or so away) have the Essence stamping stuff or the magnetic nail polish.

Nice haul! If you go again sometime I seriously recommend the Essence polish A Lovely Secret. I think that's what it's called. Anyway, it's super pretty.

  11. I live kind of far from an Ulta too, so the first time I went was when I was out of town in Palm Springs. I bought those same Essence polishes except a different shade of the magnetic one. The stamping polishes work great but I regretted not buying the black one at the same time!

  17. Oh and if u could also let me know in your review how the size of the essence stamper compares to the more popular konad stamper id appreciate it greatly! I've got small childlike fingers so I'm hoping the essence stamper will be smaller and more my size :) Thanks G!

  18. Awesome haul! That Lav-ish nailpolish has caught my eye-definitely going to have to pick it up next time I go :) Quick thing- when I go with that coupon-I print two from their site and ask them to split my order--every store I've gone to, they've been cool with it and let me use up to two coupons (saving 7 bucks!).
