You knew it was going to happen. Last week when Walgreens was having their $0.99 sale, I HAD to pick up some of the new shades I listed in this post. So today I'd like to show you some swatches of all five of the shades I picked up (there are other new shades, of course, but the ones I really wanted from the Cast Away collection are not yet in my area).
Three coats, no top coat.
You can't really see the pink in this polish (well, you can kind of see it in the BOTTLE in the pic above). But boy, in person this one's a stunner. The texture could be better--it's thick and goopy and gets goopier with every coat. But is it worth it.
Two coats, no top coat.
Island Coral was a @#$%^ to photograph. I couldn't get the color right even after photo-editing, but these pictures are close. The thing about color-correcting photos for accuracy is that now my fingers look really weird. Anyway, just ignore that (please!). This one could have used a third coat now that I see my nails in photos, but in person they didn't look streaky after two coats. I was actually surprised at how opaque this one was after two coats--for a light cantaloupe-pinky-coral shade, it was easy to work with.
Two coats, no top coat.
A yellow-based, medium green jelly creme! As my pal Niki would say, it's "squishy" and I LOVE it. The only thing is, this one became goopy on the second coat, so if you already have a green like this, there's probably no need to get this one too.
Two coats, no top coat.
UPDATE: thanks to my pal Niki at Cheapalicious for pointing out that Forget Now
is NOT new. I think that when I posted about it being in the
Heartbreaker display, I got it stuck in my head that it was a new shade,
but...it's not! Sorry about that, and thanks again, Niki! PS: I still love it though and if you don't already own it, I highly recommend it.
I normally don't gravitate toward magentas just because I already have so many of them, but the sparkle in this one is just so stunning in person. If you don't already have a polish like this, GRAB this one. It's a beautiful, sparkly jelly that looks perfect with just two coats. In person it's a deeper, more vivid shade than what you see here. Worth all 199 pennies.

Of all the new shades from Sinful Colors, Bare is the one that I've received the most comments, emails, tweets from YOU about. Those of you who already own this shade REALLY love it. And now I can see why. It's like the perfect combination of ballet-slipper-pink and nude. And that fine silver shimmer running through it only adds to its beauty. This is THE perfect work shade, as far as I'm concerned. It is a little thick though, so I think I'm going to add a few drops of polish thinner to it since I plan on wearing it a lot this year.
And just as a little bonus, I want to thank one of my Twitter followers for suggesting this combo to me. If you were the one who tweeted me about putting a chunky pink glitter on top of Bare, PLEASE leave a comment here and let me know. I tried to find your original tweet but I couldn't locate it and I want to thank you because you're absolutely right--this is GORGEOUS.
Have you picked up any of the new Sinful Colors polishes yet? What shades do you own and how do you like them? I'm REALLY hoping that some of these new colors show up at Rite Aid this week since they're having a good sale. If you spot any of the new shades at Rite Aid, please leave a comment and let us know. Thanks!
All of the Sinful Colors polishes in this post were purchased with personal funds. The Jordana polish was given to Nouveau Cheap from the manufacturer for a previous review.
I love the colors you chose! I will definitely have to look into Bare and see if it looks good on my fingertips! I especially love the chunky glitter look. This looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, hun! I really hope that Bare works for you when you find it. :)
Deletei thought forget now was one of the older colors? i think i've seen it before.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much, Niki. I was losing my mind there for a minute trying to figure out why I thought it was new, and then it hit me that it's part of that Heartbreaker display, and I must have gotten it in my mind that it was new when I saw it in the store. Ugh. Why can't Sinful Colors just be like everyone else and create displays with ALL their new colors stop sneaking them in here and there in mixed displays or in the core collection rack? Who can keep it all straight?
DeleteAnyway, you ROCK for pointing that out, girlie. Thanks so much. xo
Bare is beautiful, but I wonder how close it is to China Glaze Sunset Sail, which I already own and love. Also Forget Now reminds me of Ahoy from the same collection but with more shimmer.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the China Glaze shade, so I don't know how similar they are. Sorry!
DeleteI just went to my local Walgreen's today to look for the Cast Away collection but no dice :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Cinderella is AWESOME. I've already worn it as a full mani, so beautiful! You're right about the formula though...it was kind of a pain but totally worth it. I'm actually wearing Island Coral on my toes right and it looks almost neon on me. Sinful Colors is just the best :D
How does exotic green compare to china glaze gaga for green?
ReplyDeleteGood question! I'll have to find my bottle and let you know. :)
DeleteI'm wearing Cinderella as we speak! It is absolutely beautiful. Very sheer, but came to full opacity with 3 coats.
ReplyDeleteBare is such a lovely colour, and I agree - it definitely seems work appropriate! Too bad we don't carry Sinful Colors in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI would also love to see how you store your polishes!
Do a search on my blog for nail polish storage solution and my post about how I store my polishes should come right up. I use crates from Dollar Tree!
Deletei'm from british columbia and i saw sinful colours at london drugs and winners. this week, london drugs is having a buy one get one free sale at $5.99CAD a bottle! it's a hit or miss at winners but i've seen those there before too. hope that helps - good luck!
DeleteThank you, I'm looking forward to your post!
DeleteThank you as well! I'll have to keep my eyes open at Winners, as I don't have a London Drugs near me.
bare is my fav. I want to get it!! asap!
ReplyDeleteI picked up Cinderella and after I did a swatch, I saw it would be perfect for my bff so I gave it to her for Valentines Day! She loves it, even though she only used one coat. I haven't tried it yet, as I have been doing other things. I LOVE Sinful Colors! I think Cinderella is the only "new" one I have. I currently own 29 bottles of Sinful Colors. They have the best black and white formulas.
ReplyDeleteCinderella is an absolute must have! I can't believe I spaced on that sale this week :(
ReplyDeletemust have bare and island coral.. yum! Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeletewow I love that blue shade. So pretty.. then of course the pink with the shimmer look and bare.. im going to have to see if i can find them now
ReplyDeleteThose are great colors! Sinful Colors have a great selection, but the formula is so hit or miss that it's hard for me to want to buy any of them. Thanks for the pictures. x
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThis is too funny. I bought all of the same shades that you did, except for Bare. They didn't have it at the WAGS that I was in. I really like Exotic Green. It's the perfect Spring color.
ReplyDeleteCinderella and bare are beautiful colors !!!
ReplyDeleteI must find Bare. As we speak I have a full Cinderella mani topped with a layer of Revlon whimsical (I'm in love)
ReplyDeleteThat combo sounds really pretty. I think I'll have to try it! :)
DeleteWow, I love Cinderella, and the Bare combo is definitely eye-catching; I'm thinking I'll have to try it (:
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors. I love the first one the best. I do like Sinful Nails a lot.
ReplyDeleteI went yesterday to walgreens and they finaly put the new colectoin of sinful colors up and i only got one color but i like the bare one you have in the pic.
ReplyDeleteI have two of these so far, but I am thinking of getting Forget Now since seeing your swatches! Wow! I have Bare and Cinderella, both are untried though, so I think I'll be trying them sooner rather then later. Thanks so much for doing swatches of Sinful Colors polishes!
ReplyDeleteI was lucky, and my Walgreens had all the new shades, so I grabbed them all! I think my favorite is probably Daredevil.
ReplyDeleteYou need Kissy, no really? Have you seen swatches I have of this glass flecked wonder?
ReplyDeleteThat's the Zoya Charla dupe, right? I would have bought it but I already have three shades like that. Lol! :)
DeleteAh I love it! The texture is great for staying power!
DeleteI have Cinderella one right now! With Whimsical over it, and then mattified.. So pretty! :D I seriously want to look at Forget now.. I am a sucker for Jelly's!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'm definitely going to have to try that combo!! :)
Deletecinderella looks like a lovely color, I must check it out.
ReplyDelete*AWESOME COMBINATION SUGGESTION* Try Cinderella with Essie Shine of the Times over it! It's stunning! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely!!
DeleteThe first one is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIs Bare like Zoya Pandora? The description sounds similar....
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Phoebe (below) said the same thing! I wish I coulf tell you for sure, but I don't own the Zoya shade.
DeleteI bought Forget Now along with 7 other gorgeous Sinful Colors nail polishes at Rite Aid today, since the +UP limit was 4! I think SC has to be my second favorite nail polish brand (first is WnW). ^^
ReplyDeleteWhoo hoo! nice haul, honey! :)
DeleteCinderella is GORGEOUS! I'll have to pick that up.
ReplyDeleteBare looks like an EXACT dupe for Zoya's Pandora (from the Touch collection). I don't have either, but they look damn similar.
That would be awesome if it was an exact dupe! I wish I had the Zoya to compare. :(
DeleteI bought Island Coral and Cinderella but cannot find Bare! So frustrating but I shall hunt on. I tried pink glitter over Cinderella and it was a bit of a bust. Lol.
ReplyDeleteAaaaw, that sounds like it would be very pretty. I hate it when that happens. :(
DeleteBare is such a nice colour! must pick that up :)
ReplyDeleteArgh! I wasn't aware of the sale at Wags but I definitely want to pick some of those up. Thanks for posting the lovely pics, I LOVE Cinderella and Bare :D
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! Sorry you missed the sale....I posted about it so much I'm afraid people were sick of me talking about it. Lol!!! ;)
Deletepicked up Cinderella from the walgreens sale it is so beautiful, but of course as soon as the sale was over they put out the New Cast Away Collection, and there are some great colors i really have to get
ReplyDeleteG, I had to tell you that Bare looks fantastic on you! And, yes, it looks to be very, very close to Zoya Pandora, which is also a lovely shade. IMO, if you have one, you don't nee the other (but since this is cheap..,).
ReplyDeleteCinderella is absolutely gorgeous! I am crazy about baby blue shades in nail polished, I have quite a few in my collection but I am definitely open for more especially since I have nothing like Cinderella! I live in Canada and the only place I have seen Sinful Colors is at a few local Rexalls but their variety is not usually very big. I really hope I find this one! I have a developed a small list of a few colors I am looking for so I hope I can find them!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your site!!! I only bought one when they were on sale (?!?) and it was Bare and I love it so much!!!!
ReplyDeleteBare looks really amazing with your skin tone! I also love Cinderella on you.
ReplyDeleteOh I loooooooove Sinful Colors Cinderella! Just got it a few weeks ago, and I am *obsessed*.
ReplyDeleteCinderella is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteIsland Coral reminds me of China Glaze's Mimosa's Before Mani's(one of my fav polishes). Will def have to pick up Cinderella and possibly Bare! Love your pink glitter over Bare combo!! Would love to try it out!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I need Bare now!!! And that green shade- which is funny, 'cause I never go for greens, but this one's just so happy- and Cinderella, the blue one, just for the name. She's my favorite princess =).
