CVS haul and update

First up, I just updated the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale Master List with a few new products and shades. Another huge thanks to everyone who has been leaving comments on that post with new sightings. It is SO helpful for all of us.

Also, I want to let you know that when I update the list, if I'm adding a new SHADE name to an existing product, I move that product to the top of the sub-category. That way, you don't have to scroll through everything just to see if one or two new shades have been added. I hope that helps!

Next up, as promised, here is my one and only haul from the CVS beauty clearance sale:

Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF50 Powder Foundations (7)

As many of you know, this is my Holy Grail foundation and if they're discontinuing it (I don't know if they are, but it sure looks that way), I want to stock up so that I don't have to go hunting for a new foundation for a good long while. This foundation retails for $14.99 but it's currently on 75% off clearance (all shades!) making it just $3.75.

Total retail price for seven PF foundations: $104.93
CVS Beauty Clearance Sale price for seven PF foundations: $26.25

On my NC20 skintone, I can wear either Translucent Light or Translucent Medium, so I got both. Also, I found ONE of the special 2-pks (powder foundation + bronzer) and that was on clearance for $3.75 too, so SCOOOOORE!

The three polishes I bought were:

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Caribbean Coral - retail: $3.19; sale price: $0.79
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Plum Power - retail: $3.19; sale price: $0.79
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Thinking of Blue - retail: $7.99; sale price: $1.99

I would have paid $3.57 total for all three polishes, BUT, I also had that coupon that CVS was printing out last week for $3 off any Sally Hansen purchase, so I ended up paying $0.57 TOTAL for three polishes that normally would have cost me $14.37.

Grand total for 7 foundations and 3 polishes before tax: $26.82
Regular retail price for this purchase before tax: $131.75

NOT TOO BAD, right?

Please check back soon for my recommendations post if you're looking for ideas of some things to buy during this sale. In the meantime, if you're a powder foundation gal and you have oily skin, I can't recommend the PF Healthy Wear Powder Foundation SPF15 enough. I used to use MAC Studio Fix for years, and I find this to be a superior product (not as chalky, fades to a nice, even dewy look, and great coverage if you use the sponge that comes with the compact).

  2. G, quick question for you if you have time!- is there a big difference in the shades of Translucent Light and Medium? I'm around an NC15-20, so similar but maybe a little lighter than you, but I'm having a hard time deciding which I should get. Is Translucent Light really pale?
    Thanks so much!

  3. GREAT haul! I wish I could find a drugstore foundation that worked just the way I want it to. I used to love the original formulation of Neutrogena's liquid foundation, but their new Healthy Skin liquid foundation is different - it's good, but different enough that it's not what I like anymore.

  5. I faithfully use the translucent light every day! I totally needed a back up (or 2). I grabbed the translucent medium during the sale to mix with the light to just give me some slight color. I think I'm going back for more tomorrow. :)

  8. Great deals!! I'm hooked on CG Nature luxe foundation now, thanks to you! I'm trying to give up powder foundations, at least for the winter. (I have dry skin) :-)

  9. Do the PF healthy wear leave a white cast in pictures?? I've been eyeing them!

  10. I am so bummed out that there are no sales at my nearest CVS (besides the usual weekly ones). I should probably try others, but I don't know if the driving around would be worth it. =(

  11. My only concern is that all the Healthy Wear foundations I've seen are expired, and I mostly like it for the sun protection. I'm not willing to risk it if the sun protection's not there.

  12. Just came home from CVS, the items on the master list ARE ringing up on sale. The bogo 50 this week for revlon and sally hansen doesnt apply to this clearance. Wanted to know, do the Healthy Wear powder foundations cover well? Absorb oil? Thx
