Revlon Starry Pink makes me feel like a sophisticated princess

Starry Pink, from Revlon's Gucci Westman Expressionists Collection, absolutely called out to me when I first spotted it at the drugstore. I picked it up back when Rite Aid was having a 40% off Revlon sale, and I've kind of been in love with it ever since (FYI, I believe you can still find the polishes from this collection, including the Bad Romance dupe, at Target if your drugstores no longer have the display).

From the moment I first put on this shade, I just felt transformed. Sure there are plenty of pink polishes out there that have glittery "princess-like" qualities, but the reason I love Starry Pink so much is that it's got just a touch of blue to it that gives it a more sophisticated princess feel.  I wouldn't go so far as to declare this a lavender or lilac (even though it looks lilac in the bottle); once it's on the nails, it feels like a pastel pink that literally has just a splash of lilac to it.

Because this is a milky polish, it required three coats for good opacity. The following swatches were taken after three coats and without top coat. Oh, and for having so much chunky glitter, this polish is surprising smooth to the touch. It's not super bumpy, and one layer of top coat makes it perfectly smooth for me.

Here is Starry Pink in a variety of different lights:

Lately, with my nail polish posts, I've been showing you comparison swatches of other polishes in my collection. But I actually don't own any polishes that even remotely resemble this one, so I can't show you comparisons. HOWEVER, michele1218 from YouTube did a great post on her blog, comparing Starry Pink to RBL Pizzicato, if you'd like to see.

Do you own Revlon Starry Pink? Does it make you feel like a sophisticated princess?

  7. I love "sophisticated princess!" Usually I don't like colors like this but I think the glitter takes it into my comfort zone.

  8. OMG I love that polish! I've passed it up a couple of times in the drugstore, and now I am kicking myself. They're probably out by now.

  9. I bought Starry Pink at Target when I couldn't find Facets of Fuschia. I'm so glad I picked it up, it's so pretty! I wore 2 layers of it over a layer of Essie Neo Whimsical for my bachelorette party a couple of weeks ago. It was perfect!

  11. I have this, and I love it in the bottle. But when I wore it I actually hated it on me. >.< I ended up taking it off the very next day, which hardly ever happens. I think it was too light for me or something.

  12. Not usually my style but I love this color! Haven't tried this polish personally but the pics make it look great, and glad to hear it isn't too chunky. I find that often glitter polish will smudge and slide around and is a bitch to remove. I definitely get the sophisticated feeling versus other glitter pinks.

  15. This is such a pretty polish!! I do however notice that some of my revlon nail polishes are hard to work with...either with it drying to fast, or applying way too much color...

  16. I actually wasn't impressed with this when I first saw it in blogs.. I was far more interested in Facets of Fuchsia. I was really surprised I even bought it at all, but I'm SO glad I did. It's my favourite nail colour.. the best thing I've ever put on my fingers. I was way less happy with FoF. You're absolutely right that there isn't really anything like this.
