Since Urban Decay is going to be on sale at HauteLook.com tomorrow, March 31st (log on BRIGHT AND EARLY before everything sells out!), I thought it might be helpful if I posted some swatches of the products I purchased the last time Urban Decay was on HauteLook. If any of these products are on sale again tomorrow, at least you'll have an idea what they look like!
I purchased all of the following products for around $2 each, which was an incredible savings:
Left to right:
Loose Pigment in Protest
Loose Pigment in Smog
Smoke Out Eye Pencil in Maui Wowie
Smoke Out Eye Pencil in Green Goddess
Matte Eyeshadow in Chronic
The top two swatches above are of the Smoke Out Eye Pencils (Green Goddess on top, Maui Wowie on bottom). Below the eye pencils are swatches of the Matte Eyeshadow in Chronic (first swatch is without primer, the second is over UDPP).
The Smoke Out Eye Pencils are powder-based eyeliners that I think work well on brows, but I also like them on my eyes despite the fact that some say they're hard to work with. I find that if I wet the end of the pencil first with a little water, they apply more evenly. I think these have great staying power because they're powdery.
The Matte Eyeshadow in Chronic is a beautiful matte green--I LOVE Urban Decay matte eyeshadows because they're so finely milled and SUPER pigmented. I don't have a bad thing to say about this one.
The top two swatches above are of the Loose Pigment in Smog (first swatch is over UDPP, the second swatch is without any primer). The second set of swatches above are of the Loose Pigment in Protest (top swatch is over UDPP, bottom swatch is without any primer).
It's interesting that Smog is so brown without primer, but over UDPP, the bronze and gold tones really come through. Protest is a deep gunmetal-green shade that's full of multi-colored microglitter that you can't really see in my photos. It's got a lot of sparkle in real life, so if you're not a sparkle lover, I'd probably shy away from this one.
If any of these products are on sale again tomorrow, I hope that my swatches help some of you to better determine whether or not they'd be a good fit for you!
Are you excited about Urban Decay on HauteLook tomorrow?
Woop Woop!! Yes can't wait.. I will be off work tomorrow so I can catch the sale.. I missed the last one... I actually just bought some UD from the site last week when they had a really good sale.
ReplyDeleteI am TOTALLY PUMPED for the sale tomorrow. So glad my class was canceled... else I would've had to have skipped it :P
ReplyDeleteI bought that stuff and so much more from their last sale that I'm hoping that what ever is coming up for sale tomorrow will be just as good but I'm doubting it because there hasn't been anyone on the clearance page lately like the last time (which is what the $2 sale was).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it starts at 8 am Pacific because that means 10 am here. Yay not having to wake up early AND getting to buy cheap Urban Decay! Hopefully they have some good stuff.
ReplyDeleteSmog is very pretty! The preview page says shadows, bronzers, nail sets, and more, so it should be a good mix of products. During their November sale, I got some shadows for $4.25 each, a Smoke Out kit for $8.50, and the Summer of Love nail kit for $7(! that's a dollar each). Not $2, but still good prices!
ReplyDeleteJust picked up a Purple Haze eyeshadow for $5. I tried to be good, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the swatches with us. I like Smog but since it came with the Naked Palette, I don't have to buy it separately. Otherwise, I would pick it up by itself during the sales.
