Submit your questions for Tina Turnbow, eco-friendly celebrity makeup artist!

Have you always wanted to ask a true celebrity makeup artist a question? Well NOW is your chance! I have been given a very special opportunity to ask Tina Turnbow a makeup question, and I'm leaving it up to YOU, my wonderful readers, to ask the question!

Leave your question for Ms. Turnbow in the comments on this post, and in a few days I'll select one question for her to answer. I've been assured that she'll answer the question in detail, so feel free to ask whatever you'd like!

A few ideas to get your question-asking-juices flowing:

How do you achieve the glow that Ivanka Trump always seems to have?

What's your best technique for concealing under-eye darkness?

What is your favorite blush brush? (I really would like to know that one!)

What do you do to ensure that your clients' makeup stays put for hours at a time?

Be sure to take a peek at Ms. Turnbow's bio:

Tina Turnbow
Eco-friendly Celebrity Makeup Artist

No two faces are precisely alike. Each face possesses a set of unique features that are meant to be illuminated, rather than wiped away. This is the belief that drives Tina Turnbow's work as a makeup artist, and has made her one of the most sought after talents in the industry today.

Tina is at the forefront of a generation of makeup artists who recognize that with an expansive palette and growing number of products to choose from, less can truly be more. As the past spokesperson for Beauty.com and a blogger for the New York Times, Tina has brought her modern aesthetic to an even wider audience, offering her expertise of over a decade working with the best photographers and designers in the business. As the daughter of a hairdresser and salon aesthetician on the shores of Lake Michigan, Tina developed an instinct and affection for an individual's unique beauty at an early age.

Years spent sketching friends and family led her to the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago, where she focused on her love of painting and drawing before moving into cosmetics at the age of 24. Tina assisted such legends as Pat McGrath, Jeanine Lobell, and Lucia Pieroni through which she developed a versatile style that celebrates the strength of a woman's face, the unusual and sometimes unexpected perfection of a nose, eyes, or lips. Because of her interest in the environment and women's health, she supports green and eco-friendly cosmetics and skin care.

Currently a resident of downtown Manhattan, Tina's Midwestern earthiness and generosity, with her unabashed love of film and fashion, is still reflected in her work: luminous, unpretentious, and bold. She has created looks for assorted publications and she has collaborated with a wide range of fashion photographers including Gilles Bensimon, Arthur Elgort, and Raymond Meier.

Tina also continues to work with an ever expanding list of celebrities who have come to depend on her loyalty, honesty, and remarkable talent, including Claire Danes, Mary Louise Parker, Jessica Szohr, Ivanka Trump, Amanda Peet, Rachel Weisz, and Joan Allen among many others.

Now is the time to ask that burning question you've always wanted to have answered by a makeup artist who works celebs! Get you thinking caps on, lovelies, and ask away!

  1. I often do my makeup and realize after it's done that my forehead or chin has little flakes of dry skin. I don't want to take all of my makeup off, exfoliate, and redo it, so do you have any tips on how to get rid of them without taking it all off?

  2. We often see beauty magazines touting the perfect bronzer or summery glow, but it's taken decades to be happy with my porcelain skin. For the many VERY fair skinned ladies out there, how do we keep those pale, porcelain skin tones perfected and polished without looking pasty?

(Wow... actually, didn't intend all that alliteration!)

  3. I, like many other African American women, have two-toned lips, meaning the top lip is usually darker than the bottom. How would you suggest wearing lipstick so it doesn't look as if I am wearing to different colors?

  4. I have very oily eyelids throughout the day. I do use eyeshadow primer and sometype of shadow daily. I notice that through out the day my eyeliner ends up transfering underneath my brow. I have used several different types of water proof, smudge proof liners and nothing seems. To stop this problem for me half way through the day....please help :)
