At this point, you've either found this new limited edition collection of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes, or you're looking for it. I've yet to come across anyone who is on the fence about this collection, because, well, there seems to be a little something for everyone here. From cremes to jellies to glitters, I think it's safe to say that there's probably at least one color you want, or are happy to have purchased (and if you don't agree, well, I'm happy for you because that means there's more money in your pocket!).
Before I show you swatches of the color I purchased recently, I want to ask if any of you have seen the new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure collection (Tracey Reese Fall 2010) in your area yet. I've been looking everywhere for it, but to no avail. I think most people who have spotted it have found it at Walgreens or Meijer (wow, I am really jealous of those of you who have a Meijer near you--they seem to get everything first, including that new Wet n Wild Pixie Holiday collection). My local Wags didn't have this display when I stopped by last night (heck, they don't even have the INCOLOR liners I reviewed yesterday so I wasn't surprised). But I did spot some great pics of the display and close-ups of some of colors on Frazzle and Anipolish, so definitely check those out. I neeeeed that olive green glitter!
Now on to the swatches. As you all know by now, Rite Aid has Sally Hansen and Borghese polishes BOGOFREE this week, so really, how could I resist picking up some more of these pretty colors?
Even though I know there are a zillion shades like this out there, I think that for $2.99, Fireberry Red is a great one for the money. Here is Fireberry Red is three different forms of lighting:
In my extremely novice opinion, this is a red jelly with red and gold flecks. I love it. It's just one of those reds that instantly makes me happy, and I can't wait to wear it on my toes. I would say that the middle picture (taken under florescent light) is the most accurate in terms of color (it's a darker red than the first and third pics would have you believe, but it's not vampy by any means). Also, since this is a jelly, it required three coats and actually, I think I could have used four to eliminate all streaks. But hey, it's pushing it for me to do three coats because I'm impatient and low-maintenance!
So, what shades have you purchased from this new LE Xtreme Wear collection? Also, have you spotted the new Complete Salon Manicure collection yet? I'd love to hear from you!
This looks great on you! I need to try it - I've actually had it since the end of July (found it rather early, not at Meijer - shocker! LOL - but at Discount Drug Mart) and haven't tried it yet! And I can't find the new SH Completes, darn it! 3 Meijers in 2 days and no luck! :( I have a feeling none of them are going to look good on me anyway, but it's the principle... :)
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for the link! Meijer is a great resource, for sure.
ReplyDeleteFireberry Red is one of the few I didn't get (yet, anyway) from that XW display. It sure is pretty, though.
That color is beautiful. I have been loving Sally Hansen.
ReplyDeleteI got Concrete, Purple Gala (?...the foil-y one), and Plum Burst. I wasn't feeling the bar shaped glitter in most of them, but I am happy with the ones I got!
ReplyDeleteMost of my local drugstores have been pretty slow in the fall displays, so I found these at Ulta.
I wish I had meijer near me too!
ReplyDeleteI saw the new Sally Hansen Salon Manicure fall collection at Walgreens last week and at Meijer's yesterday. Walmart and Target don't seem to get any of the limited edition displays at all, I never have any luck there.
ReplyDeleteBTW that olive green shade you're talking about is called "Sequin Scandal" I did buy that one along with "Problem Child" the purplely glittery one, and the silver glitter one and the gold glitter one. I also did buy "Purple Gala" and "Mystic Lilac" as well.
I def need to add this color to my collection!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty and your nail polish application is so neat! :)
ReplyDeleteThe SH Complete Salon Manicure line has been available here in the Atlanta area for several months at least. I think I purchased the one color I have in the spring. I tend to stick to the larger stores for better pricing (Walmart, Target) and even so, this line sells for about $6 a bottle, compared to less than $3 for the Xtreme Wear line, of which I have many colors! I wasn't all that excited about the one color I bought from the Complete Salon Manicure line, "Pedal to the Metal." It looks like a pale lilac color in the bottle, but on my nails, just sliver, which is fine, but I already have silver polish.
ReplyDeletePonder, she means the Tracy Reese fall 2010 colors. The complete salon manicure line has been in all the stores for about a year now.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like another great color for Christmas. Just looking at it puts me in a holiday mood! lol
G, I was just thinking, everyone who is crazy about nail polish has at least one red or burgundy creme. This would probably work great as a top coat over a red/burgundy creme instead of trying to get it to even out in 3 or 4 coats on it's own.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this color! It's looks super pretty on you! :-)
