Review: New L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser with The Scrublet

Well, it's been a little while since I wrote this post about being completely seduced by The Scrublet (it was love at first sight when I saw the display at CVS!), so now I can finally present you with a proper review after having used this product for seven days straight. I purchased this cleanser at CVS for $6.99 (6.7 oz), but of course I had a CVS.com $1 off coupon plus a L'Oreal $1 off coupon so I only paid $4.99 for it.

First, if you have no idea what the new L'Oreal Go 360 Facial Cleansers are all about, let me quickly tell you that they are a new line of facial cleansers (four different formulas) and the twist is that these cleansers come with a built-in, removable facial cleansing tool called "The Scrublet".

I purchased the Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin because, as I explained in my previous post, I had some conflicts with the ingredients in the other formulas.  The Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin is one of two cream cleansers in this collection, and the only formula to contain just ONE form of SLS (the other three formulas contain two forms of SLS each) and it's the only formula of the four to be free of menthol (menthol is fine for a lot of people but for me it sometimes causes breakouts).  Plus, I also liked that the Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin contains shea butter, which is something that's not found in any of the other formulas.

First let's talk about The Scrublet itself.  Oh my dear little Scrublet, how I adore thee!

How cool is it that The Scrublet is completely self-contained within the bottle? It's super easy to remove and just as easy to replace when you're done. And it's great that it fits snugly inside the hole in the bottle, which means it will be a snap to travel with.

The Scrublet itself has the coolest consistency of any cleansing tool I've ever used. It's this super soft (I'm talking baby-soft) rubbery plastic gel material and it's super flexible and bendable (or as I like to say, "squishy") which means you can really get it into the nooks and crannies of your face (like the nose area) with ease.

The "handle" part of The Scrublet also contains a suction cup which means you can stick this on your countertop, medicine cabinet, shower wall, etc. if you'd like.

So how does The Scrublet perform with the actual cleanser? This is what really surprised me, folks. I was totally expecting the cleanser to be "meh" while the star of the show would be The Scrublet.  But I've got to say, after using this for seven days straight, I am LOVING both The Scrublet and the cleanser, almost equally.

Let me begin by reminding you of my skin type: I have oily skin (with a very oily t-zone) and during the winter my cheeks are prone to dry patches. I suffer from TOTM (time of the month) breakouts and sometimes my skin can be a bit sensitive or react oddly to certain ingredients. That said, here's how I've been using it:  I wet my face, then I wet The Scrublet. Then I squeeze a bit of cleanser directly onto The Scrublet and I apply it to my face in circular motions. For me, I can see my makeup just immediately dissolve with no effort at all. It's as if the cleanser, combined with the circular motion of The Scrublet, literally makes my makeup (even my long-wear foundations) melt away with ease.

So after I"ve scrubbed my face with The Scrublet and enjoyed watching all of my makeup melt away, I put The Scrublet down and use my fingers to wash my eye area.  I've found that all I have to do is use the exisiting cleanser that's already on my face, gently cleanse my eye area (with eyes closed, of course) and my eye makeup is GONE, folks.  Usually after I wash my eye area with a new cleanser, I open my eyes and get bummed because I can still see traces of mascara under my eyes.  But not with Go 360 Clean! Every single night I am still stunned that this cleanser consistently removes my eyeshadow, under-eye concealer, eyeliner, washable mascara and eyebrow pencil with no trace of product left behind.  I'm still stunned right now when I think about it.

Now, of course I can't speak for every formula in this line because I have only used the Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin, but I have to tell you that my skin does not feel dry or tight after I use this cleanser combined with The Scrublet.  My face just feels amazingly clean--I mean, this is a clean I have never felt before. I almost want to say it's squeaky-clean but that implies tightness and I in no way experience dryness or tightness when I use this product.  My face is just incredibly clean and I swear it's improving the texture of my skin as well. Everything just feels extra soft...and again, clean.

So far, I am giving L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Cleanser for Sensitive Skin a very surprising five stars. It's gentle, it's extremely effective, it hasn't caused me any breakouts, and, most importantly, it's FUN. If you're in the market for a new cleanser, I'd definitely consider giving this one a try (but of course wait for a sale and use coupons. In fact, there's even coupons right on the L'Oreal site!). And remember, even if the cleanser doesn't end up working for you, at least you've got The Scrublet, which you can definitely keep and use with any cleanser you'd like.

Oh, and one more tip I'd like to share with you!  I've found that when you're using The Scrublet, it works best to hold it a certain way.  If you hold the handle with the tips of your fingers, the minute the water and cleanser drip down onto the handle The Scrublet will fling itself right out of your grasp faster than you can say "Mama!"

So after using this several times now, I've found that the best way to hold The Scrublet is by wedging the handle between your index and middle fingers, and sliding it all the way down to the base of your fingers, like this:

Trust me--you can try it any way you'd like, but THIS is the method that works the best, unless of course you want to be bending over every few seconds picking your Scrublet off the ground. :)

So what do you think of L'Oreal Go 360 Clean and The Scrublet? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  1. *grins* I told you that thing was amazing. I got the exfoliating wash, which I dont love, its more of a "meh" thing. But that scrublet is my very favorite new bathroom doohicky. Its AWESOME. I also love that once I had scrubbed my face and have soap in my eyes I only have to stick the thing to the wall instead of hunting for the ledge or something. Talk about handy. I <3 my scrublet.

  2. I have something very similar to the Scrublet from Soap and Glory, in fact it may be the same but pink. It's called the 'mini mitt' you can see it here: http://soapandglorydev.psycle.com/products/bath-body/face-massage-mini-mitt?fromSearch=b3JkZXJieT1kYXRlJm9yZGVyPWFzYyZjYXRlZ29yaWVzPSZzZWFyY2hfdGV4dD0= . I find it works really nicely but is pricey at £4 for just the scrubber ($7 is just over £4 and you guys get the cleanser too!). It also said on the packet that you can use it dry as a massager and it helps improve circulation and adds a 'glow' to your complexion, so maybe the l'oreal scrublet will work like that too :)
Can't wait for this to come out here across the pond!

  4. I pick this up after reading your review. Needless to say, I am super duper excited. The scrublet is just amazing. Now I will cross my finger and hope the formula won't make my normal/combo finicky drier than usual.

  5. I was in Asia over the holidays and I saw almost the exact same silicone scrubs in a market. I think they cost a couple of US dollars. Just checked ebay and they're selling them there too, but for $6-$7. Search for "Facial Cleansing Pad" and a whole bunch come up. The white $6 ones look the same as the one included the L'Oreal Go 360 but what a markup. evilbay. Next time I go overseas, I'm stocking up.

  6. That does looks cool. I'm almost positive I saw the same scrublet thing at Daiso/Marukai but the fact the gadget is self contained in the bottle itself ups the neato factor! I might give it a try...CVS needs to make it free after extra bucks lol.

  7. I bought the exfoliating wash a few days ago, and it does make my skin dry out some, but I haven't found anything that doesn't during the winter, so I put it away for the time being. I LOVE the scrublet, though, and I use it almost all of the time now. I usually wash my face with homemade vegetable soap, just switched this past week to some African soap or something my sister bought at Walgreens on sale, lol, but the point is, the scrublet works amazingly with plain soap too. I have a $2 off a Loreal face product coupon, and I'm very tempted to buy the sensitive skin one also. My sister wants her own little scrublet, lol.

  8. I think these sell here for $9.99, and no coupon :-) So much for promoting new products around here

  11. Thank you for the awesome and very detailed review! I also have oily skin that is prone to a few dry flaky spots in the winter, and have been tempted to buy the L'Oreal cleansers with the scrublet JUST for the scrublet! But I'll have to keep my eyes open for some coupons,a nd the the Clean Deep Facial Cleanser variety.

  12. CthuLynny: You were SO right, girlie! You totally earned the right to give me an "I told you so"! lol!! And I'm wondering if you need to try the cream cleanser for senstive skin? I am LOVING that formula. Lemme know if you end up trying it, K? xo

Lillian! OMG, it is the exact same thing!! Excellent call! Wow, I am stunned. I mean, I just looked at the photo on the Soap and Glory site and it really is the exact same product, down to the pattern of the bristles. That's wild! You should totally write a post about that! What a discovery! I wonder if the mini mitt is available at Target (the only place I know of in the US that carries Soap & Glory). Thanks so much for the info--and I am totally going to try it as a dry massage. Sounds wonderful. xo

April and Ashley: Ooooh, my boyfriend was also intrigued by this, but since he has a beard it wouldn't really work for him. lol. Please keep me posted on how you guys like it, ok? And you are so welcome! xo

Diem Ho: Oh, you did? YAY! I am so curious if you love it as much as I do! Which formula did you get? :)

Anon: This is VERY interesting information! Wow, I so I guess it's not such an original idea after all, eh? Did you see Lillian's comment above about how this is also available in the UK (by Soap & Glory)? Wow. Too bad evilbay has such a crazy mark-up. At least with L'Oreal you get a nice big bottle of cleanser too, for your 7 bucks. :)

Lisa: You did?? I go to Daiso/Marukai all the time! I totally need to look for this!! If I can get it for a buck or two...that would be insane! But I actually don't feel bad about buying this because the cleanser is really working for me so far. I'd love to know what you think if you get one. :)

Sandi: Yeah, I've heard that the exfoliating formula can be drying (I'd blame the two forms of SLS). But I'm totally intrigued with your homemade vegetable soap. You can't just say that to me and NOT give me the recipe! LOL!! Please tell me how you make it! :)

Halifax: Hi there, honey! Wow, $9.99 and no coupons is a little steep. Hopefully there will be some kind of sale eventually at Zellers or something? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Also, I don't know if you have Soap & Glory in CA but did you see Lillian's post above? You can always try one of those (if you have access to that brand). xo

1xellus1: Thank you so much, sweetheart! And you are SO welcome. I would of course love to know what you think of this if you end up getting a bottle. Keep me posted? xo

DeAnna: Yes, I definitely removed my eye makeup with minimal scrubbing! But I can't say it will work for waterproof mascara since I never use waterproof. Other than that, this baby seems to remove *everything*. Keep me posted if you get some, ok? xo

  13. Katherine: OK, since we seem to have the same type of skin, I would REALLY love to know if you like the cream cleaner for sensitive skin if you try it. Because usually the sensitive skin formulas tend to not clean as well or penetrate the oily layer of my skin enough, but this one totally does the job. Keep me posted? Thanks! xo

  15. If it succeeded in getting rid of your eye make up then it is great.Because the best of cleansers fail to do just that.

  16. Hi!

I bought the 360 after reading your first post on it. I couldn't remember which variety you purchased so I went with the sensitive one (good luck but also most suitable for my older skin).

At any rate, I love this cleanser and the scrublet is a bonus.

On a side note, my grandson was over for a visit and found the scrublet during his bath - he loved it too! (Especially chewing it - which I had to stop but he loved it sticking to the bathtub, the tiles, etc... lol).

Thanks for the post - if you hadn't I would never have looked for this. (At my local Walmart, they had them on a lower shelf all shoved to the back - you couldn't see them unless you were looking.)

  17. i'm almost done with a very meh Olay cleanser (a disappointment, because theirs are usually quite nice) and am now positively foaming at the mouth (HEE) to get this formula! adding it to my shopping list asap.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think we have almost exactly the same skin type, and the winter is especially harsh on my face. I am incredibly excited to give this a try.

By the way - I think your blog is AH MAAAAY ZING!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I totally wanted this cleanser ever since I saw the ads for it on TV and in mags! I'm working on finishing up my philosophy stuff first and then I'll go get the Sensitive Skin formula. Only thing is, I haven't been able to find the sensitive skin one at my usual jaunt, Target. Grr. Thanks for your review!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I really wish we had a CVS here, you get the most awesome deals!
I'll head to Target later to pick one up, as this looks nothing short of awesome.

  21. Holding off on my official seal of approval, but I've been using this for about 4 days and I LOVE THE SCRUBLET! It's amazing. I would use this little guy with any cleanser now! But I do have to say that I'm really liking my cleanser, also - but next time I'm getting the sensitive skin, it's a tad drying. I have the cream one? It's a great cleanser though! Might be better in the summer when my skin is more oily, and using the sensitive in the winter.

  22. Ever since I saw the commercial I really want to try the scrublet. I was at Ulta last night and didn't see this out yet so I was surprised you even had a review on it. Like you, I was thinking the cleanser would be so-so and the main point in purchasing this would be the scrublet. Glad to know that the cleanser works so well too. Thanks for the review!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I bought the green one..now I can't remember what it is called. I actually do not like the cleanser but love the scrublet....Didn't remove really any of my make up, and I also do not like the smell and it just doesn't feel clean..I should have gotten the sens. skin one, I knew it!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm thinking about buying this just for the Scrublet! Haha.

  25. mineral lipstick: I know! I could hardly believe my eyes (literally). lol! :)

blisstear: Wow, I am SO happy to hear that this worked out so well for you (and your grandson. ha ha!). Congrats, and I'm so glad I could help. It really is awesome, isn't it? xo

beautifulmonday: And you WILL let me know what you think of it when you get it, right? I am crossing my fingers and toes that you like it as much as I do! xoxo

erinmw: First of all, you are TOO SWEET! Thank you so much!! Second, if your skin is like mine, I think you are going to freaking LOOOVE this! Keep me posted, please! xo

K.Lo: That is so weird that you haven't seen the senstive skin formula at Target. Do you have a CVS in your town? I'd definitely check there. Keep me posted, ok? xo

squidmarket: I'm sorry you don't have a CVS near you. That sucks! But I'm crossing my fingers you find this at Target and who knows, it might even be cheaper there! Let me know. xo

Nicole: SO happy to hear you're loving it so far! But here's the thing--I think your comment supports my theory that two forms of SLS in one cleanser = drying. So if you can get a good deal on the sensitive skin formula, I'd love to know if it's less drying for you (I'm betting it will be because it's got only one SLS and it also contains shea butter). xo

Jenny: I would love to know what you think if you end up buying this! Please come back and let me know, ok? xo

Tiff: LOL! Well, if you bought it at CVS or Rite Aid (and kept your receipt) you can totally exchange it! I was actually going to warn people about the green cleanser because I've heard from a few people that it's drying, but since I haven't personally tried it I didn't want to put it in my review. But the two forms of SLS are probably what's making your skin feel tight. I'm sorry honey! :(

Heather: It wouldn't be a bad investment, even if you don't like the cleanser! The Scrublet ROCKS! lol. :)

  26. I bought the same blue one for sensitive skin that you did. And so far I am loving it!!! L'Oreal Go 360 takes my makeup off easily, even with my waterproof mascara. The best thing about the formula is that it doesn't dry out my skin, most product at this time of the year do, includes the Aveeno bar soap I have been using but not this baby. I wash my face and my skin feel soft and hydrated afterward. I am so glad you review this product!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lol, I don't make the soap myself, I got a few reject (not good enough looking to sell) bars from one of my neighbors that sells it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh and I forgot to mention that I've used the exfoliating cleanser a few more times since the first time, and it hasn't dried my skin out at all. I think it's because its been a little warmer and not so dry outside the past couple days. I think I really like it now.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ok, WOW. this is just as awesome as you said it would be. I bought the same formula (less irritants is always better and my skin acts a lot like yours) and i am loving it. i think my hubby is bemused by how long i linger at the sink with suds all over my face, happily scrubleting away.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Diem Ho: I am SO SO SO happy that this formula is working for you too! You just made my day. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment. :)

Sandi: Wow, thanks for the info about the exfoliating formula. I think I might have to try that one when it gets warmer here and my face gets *really* oily. :)

beautifulmonday: YAY!! Oh I am just thrilled that this is working for you and that my review didn't let you down. :) And I love that--scrubleting away! My boyfriend cracks up when I'm doing it too! lol. But it just feels sooo good! :)

  31. thanks for reviewing this i tried the one for combination skin and it is awesome. does a great job of getting me clean without feling dry. thanks for all the great tips

  32. OK, I've been using this for a few weeks now and I have to say it's awesome! I got the sensitive skin cleanser too (the blue one) and it really does remove everything, and without a lot of rubbing required on my eyes or my face. I love that it's so gentle and non-drying but works so well. Thanks so much for your review! I probably never would have tried this if it weren't for your blog. :]

  33. This product looked so interesting so of course i bout it. Because previous products didn't work for me. And since it removes makeup I got even more happier. So I used it and it made my skin soft and cleaner looking. But after I kept using it my face and neck itched sooo bad & I didn't understand why. but then I realized it was the cleanser. It dried my face and actually caused me to break out more. My face got to the point where the sides of my nose were burning it hurt to smile . so me and my cousin have two different skin types so I told her to try it and the same thing happend to her. ): worst product I ever used.

  34. Hey,

Love your reviews! Very interesting and helpful. I had also bought this scrublet with sensitive skin cleanser the same day that I saw the ad! Couldnt resist. I agree with you on the point that it cleanses the face very nicely and doesnt dry it. My skin texture is very similar to urs. One thing I did not like was that the scrublet doesnt help me in getting rid of my blackheads (I am very prone to them and hate them!!!). I had thought the scrublet when used in circular motions on my nose might help me ! Do you have any suggestions ona product good to remove black/whiteheads? Thanks.

  36. I picked up the cleanser for Combination Skin) the green one and I HATED it. I dried my skin out so badly, and I found that the scrublet didn't actually help to clean my skin....it just felt like rubbing squeaky plastic over my face....all in all, a waste of $10... :(

    ReplyDelete
  37. i use the other cream cleanser - i have pretty normal skin, but with pimples that linger. i've been using this for about a month, and my skin is *so soft*. I've still gotten a couple pimples, but they've been small and they pass really quickly. in addition, i always felt like the pores on my nose were really visible, and nothing i did really made a difference, except now (thank you scrublet!) i can hardly see them.

I'd give it 4.5 stars, only because I feel like it dries my skin out a little bit. In winter I use moisturizer anyways, so it's not a big deal, bit in the summer I'll probably switch to the sensitive skin one.

  38. I wish I could just buy the scrublet, lol. I can't use any other cleanser than the one I currently use from LUSH because everything breaks my skin out, regardless of the great ingredients or sensitive skin formula. -insert sad face here-

  39. I haven't tried this yet. I have the pink silicone scrublet from Sephora and it's great. I have recently become a fan of Trader Joe's Nourish All-in-one facial cleanser.

  40. I recently have bought this cleanser, and I feel as if it doesn't take off all of my makeup and the cleanser never really comes off of my face either. Any tips on how I can stop this from happening? I really like this cleanser but I feel as if the scrublet is not doing its job.
