Hello my lovely readers! I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow is my birthday, so for the first time ever, I am going to make all comments left on my blog for approval (i.e. if you leave a comment it will not be visible until I approve it). This will only last for one day, and then on Monday all will go back to normal! I don't plan on being anywhere near my computer or Blackberry tomorrow so that's why I'm doing it. :)
In the meantime, please enjoy the two lengthy reviews I posted today for Palladio and White Sands, and please feel free to poke around in my archives if you'd like more Nouveau Cheap.
Until I get back, let me offer you this awesome montage of love scenes from classic 80s teen movies (I found this while I was searching for my favorite "birthday" movie moment on youtube, which is the ending scene of Sixteen Candles--I couldn't find it, darnit!).
So here's my idea: If you can identify every movie in this clip, leave a comment on this post. The people who can identify ALL of the movies in this clip accurately will win...MY UNDYING LOVE AND RESPECT! (Sorry, it's my birthday so I'm not giving out prizes for this!). But I will love you even more than I already do if you successfully name each and every movie in this clip:
In order:
ReplyDelete1. Pretty in Pink
2. Say Anything
3. Sixteen Candles
4. Pretty in Pink
5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
6. Pretty in Pink

Thank you SOOOO much, everyone, for the sweet birthday wishes!! I have the best readers and cyber-pals EVER!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy birthday was nice and mellow this year, with tacos and ice cream cake with the family and boyfriend. Since I live in San Diego, we truly have the best access to homemade corn tortillas, and my mom and boyfriend fried up taco shells for the tacos, which were amazing. Nothing compares to using fresh, handmade corn tortillas for taco shells--they fry up to the most light-as-air, crispy shells that you have ever tasted! They are so light, it takes no effort at all to bite into them. Yum yum!
My boyfriend gave me a collection of gorgeous vintage scarves for my b-day and also some scarves that his mother made for me--they are so beautiful that I don't even want to use them! I didn't get any beauty-related gifts this year, which I am glad about because I've already got my fair share. :) Oh and I also got a t-shirt that says "World's Best Aunt" which I am going to proudly wear to sleep every night. lol. :)
As for the 80s clip, I am IMPRESSED by all of you who answered! I'm glad to know I'm not the only 80s teen flick lover out there, and it just makes me love you guys even more! xo
In case you were curious, AmyPod hit the nail on the head! Here's the correct order:
1. Pretty in Pink
2. Say Anything
3. Sixteen Candles
4. Pretty in Pink
5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
6. Pretty in Pink
7. Say Anything
8. Sixteen Candles
9. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
10. Say Anything
11. Pretty In Pink
Thanks again, everyone! It means the world to me that you'd take the time to leave a comment here with a b-day wish for me. xo
