NEW L.A. Colors Pout Lipgloss Matte (matte liquid lipsticks)

Thanks so much to reader @carmen.with.a.k.makeup on Instagram for this one!

Karmen spotted some new matte liquid lipsticks from L.A. Colors are a local dollar store (Dollar World in L.A.) for ONE DOLLAR EACH. Matte liquid lipsticks...for a dollar! I've also heard from a few of you who have spotted these at Family Dollar, but I believe the shade range is limited there (3 or 4 shades in the display?). Last week, longtime reader @mzericalynn5 spotted these at her local Family Dollar, along with the new Pout Lipgloss Super Shines (more on those in a second), as well as the new Matte Lipsticks I posted about a while back. Hopefully these start to pop up at Dollar Tree soon, too (if you have spotted them at Dollar Tree, or Target, or anywhere else, please do let us know!).

PLEASE NOTE: in addition to the Pout Lipgloss Mattes, there are also new Pout Lipgloss Super Shines. There are 11 shades in each range and you can check out what the Super Shines look like HERE. Basically, the matte lip colors have black caps and the shiny lip colors have white caps.

The Pout Lipgloss Matte shades are as follows (left to right in the photo above):
  • Let's Kiss
  • XOXO
  • Kiss & Tell
  • Sweet Lips
  • Scrumptious
  • Lusty
  • Kissable
  • Delectable
  • Angel Kisses
  • Enticing
  • Canoodle

Now, the name of these lip colors, as you can see on the tubes, is "Pout Lipgloss Matte" but there's nothing lip-glossy about these! Take a look at Karmen's swatches:

Still not convinced? Check out Karmen's short video HERE where she does a rub test (both dry and wet). These babies aren't going anywhere. Karmen also said that, "the staying power is INSANE! The pigmentation is great! They're creamy and smooth. There's no obnoxious scent."

If you would like to purchase these online, as of the time of this post these are not yet on the L.A. Colors website. However, I did see that Shop Miss A currently has four shades available HERE. You can also find these on Amazon and eBay but as far as I can tell, the prices are a bit higher there ($5-$6 each; hopefully the price comes down on those sites as these start to hit the marketplace).

Here's a pic from the Shop Miss A site in case you want to see what the wand looks like:

Again, if you have spotted these in your area, I would love to know where you found them. I really hope Dollar Tree gets them...soon!

Thanks again, Karmen, for the fantastic pics and swatches. I really appreciate it!

  1. I'm going to keep a look out for these. Not for the mattes but the shiny glosses. However if the mattes are that pretty I may get one at the great price and use lip balm!

  5. I found the whole line of these (matte and shiny) at a store called Wave. I live in Arizona metro Phoenix area and I found these at the Wave in Arizona Mills, not sure if Wave is in other states but it might be worth a shot to check!

  7. I was so excited when I saw this post. I'm obsessed with liquid lipstick. I live in Ohio and I drove to four different family dollars and found them in one store. They have four colors there. I love the colors and how they look on the tips. The applicator tip can be a bit hard to apply because it's straight and not bent. I don't love the formula for those lipsticks because it's sticky to the touch when I press my lips together. But for the price, can't beat it!

  11. The matte ones are so sticky! My bff & I have both tried them & our lips were sticking together. Also it's so hard to get off.

    1. I had the same problem! What I did to fix it was hold a tissue over my lips while I brushed translucent powder over them. I feel like it helped a lot to get rid of the stickiness of the lipstick. Good luck!

    1. I was able to wipe the lipstick off so easily using Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water. The only thing is that lips might be dry after use so just apply your preferred Chapstick or Vaseline on afterwards. Hope this works out for you!

  15. I found these at my local Family Dollar earlier today! Since I live in a very rural area I'm assuming these are becoming easier to find. They only had four colors so I got XOXO and I love it. To keep it from balling up you need to apply a very thin layer and let it dry a minute, then dust a bit of powder over it. Bye bye sticky! Hope this helps
