If you're interested in this beauty box, or have already signed up, please take a moment to read through this update...
When I post about deals here on Nouveau Cheap, I always strive to make sure that they're legitimate, to the best of my knowledge, before sharing them with you. In the case of the Walmart Beauty Box, I checked the legitimacy of the link by visiting the actual Walmart website, where I found the Beauty Box listed in the "Special Offers" sidebar of the Walmart Beauty landing page here:
source: Walmart website
When you click on the link on the Walmart website, it takes you to the same address that I posted in my original blog post. So just to confirm, this is a legitimate program that Walmart is offering to customers on their own website.
After my original post, I received some questions regarding this beauty box here and on social media, and I want to address those issues for you now, since I have just spoken to a Walmart representative on the phone using the number that's offered at the bottom of the Walmart Beauty Box home page. As some of you mentioned, there is a third party handling the distribution and fulfillment of this beauty box named BrandShare. According to the Walmart representative I spoke with, this third party was contracted by Walmart to handle the Beauty Box program.

Some of you were concerned, and expressed that concern to me, that the sign-up page where you enter your credit card information may not be encrypted due to lack of a visible "https" in the address. Reader CosmeticCrazy received the following email from the Walmart BrandShare Sample Box Team, which I wanted to pass along to you:
"I wanted to answer your question about the mis–perception that our site is not secure. Please see the below information about the security measures that we took when building the site, and take every day, for our Beauty and Baby Box sites.
First, we are fully committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place Industry-Best physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
We use a Level 1 PCI compliant provider to validate all credit card transactions. The checkout connection forces HTTPS connections and all data from the website to the credit card authorization service is encrypted. Verisign digital certificates are used to sign, send and open all data.
The website was developed to support secure transactions employing socket layer (SSL) technology; using 128 Bit encryption. This site is also secured by firewalls to ensure that no unauthorized access is permitted. Firewalls are an additional safety method that guarantees that only people who know your ID and Password are able to access your account. You will be required to enter your private User ID and Password to access you account information.
I hope this helps with your question. Please let me know your thoughts, or if we can answer any other questions."
I hope this helps, and if you have any additional questions, please direct them to Walmart since I am in no way affiliated with Walmart and cannot answer any questions that I haven't already addressed here in this blog post.
I really appreciate how much effort you put into making sure the information you give us is accurate. It's why we all trust you so much. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJules, you have no idea how much I appreciate you saying that. Thank you so, so much. <3
DeleteI second this- thank you.
DeleteThank you, Kimberly. :)
DeleteThird. Way to go G!
DeleteMotion carried!! You really are just the best and oh so appreciated.
DeleteI'm going to wait for tomorrow since I had concerns., Thanks for going to the effort of looking into this. As always, I admire and appreciate your dedication to your readers :)
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much, crissy. I really appreciate you saying that, and good luck on the sign-up tomorrow (when it's https). I hope you're able to get one before they sell out (if they do). :)
DeleteYou can tell you really care about your readers. You go above and beyond when it comes making sure your information is correct and legitimate. Simply put, you are AMAZING! Thank you for everything you do.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, thank you! It really means the world to me that you would say that. Thank you SO much. :)
DeleteOh man G., thank you for going that extra yard!!! That is why we love you so much!
ReplyDeleteAaaaw, thank you so much, R. I really appreciate that. *hugs* xo
DeleteCan anyone tell me what the charge showed up as on their bank statement? Mine was Brand share and I was charged 3 times!
ReplyDeleteI believe that Brand Share is the third party contracted by Walmart that I mentioned above.
DeleteYou definitely should not have been charged 3x though....did you call the number on the bottom of the site for assistance?
The same name showed up for me but i was only charged once
DeleteYes! They confirmed and said that they would have to have brand share look into it and that I should hear something tomorrow. The representative asked me if I hit the back button after I ordered. I wasn't sure, because I have a terrible habit of doing so when I'm on my phone. Beware ladies! We don't want to be sent 3 boxes!!! He also said that he would pass along the urgency so I didn't get several boxes. Hope this helps someone else! This blog is definitely a daily lifesaver for me! Thanks😘
DeleteI cancelled and called the number just to be sure all my information was deleted. The rep I got was FAR less helpful than yours! He said he hasn't heard anything about them working to encrypt the site. :( But, I do feel better having cancelled. I'll check back in a few days - I was really excited about the box, I hope they fix the site! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes not all CSRs get info at the same time, so maybe he just wasn't aware of this yet? At any rate, was he able to confirm for you that your info had been deleted?
DeleteThanks for the update! I backed as well, but will keep an eye on it. :) any ideas what the silver-lidded object is? I assume a lipgloss of some kind.
ReplyDeleteHere is the email response I got;
ReplyDelete"Thanks for your note about our Walmart Beauty Box - we had a few today, as a blogger sent out her opinion, vs understanding the facts.

Thanks so much for this! I didn't receive any information of this nature from the rep I spoke to, so this is incredibly helpful. I'm going to update this post again and include your email. Thanks again--much appreciated!!
DeleteYou're welcome lol, it's me, Heather :D
DeleteAaaaah, thank you so much, Heather! I really, really appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. :)
DeleteOh, and to confirm one of the above comments, the email reply was from "Walmart – BrandShare Sample Box Team". So G is correct in saying Brand Share is the contracted third party.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! I use google chrome so it doesn't show http or https. I signed up yesterday after I read your post. Do you think I should be fine?
ReplyDeleteG your awesome! Your blog is amazing and you always go above and beyond for your readers!
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you for the clarification!
ReplyDeleteYou went to a lot of effort here! Kudos to you. Thanks for the information! :)
ReplyDeleteI work for Walmart there is a lot of lawyers on the legal team, they don't take any chances when they have partnerships with other business they make sure everything is legit and secure. Hopefully that helps if you are not sure about putting your personal information to order the beauty box
ReplyDeleteI just ordered it, but I also use a CC I have via PayPal so its not connected directly to my 'real' bank so I wasn't as worried but this further puts my mind at ease, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the information on this box! I did sign up because I'm curious, and it's helped a lot to know that they've been responsive to the concerns so far. I hope it works out!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Walmart...I was there last night and found a few new-to-me things in the Flower (Drew B.) area -make-up brushes (looked to be high quality) -a labeled "new" shardy glitter called Rose Gold something(?) -a high speed topcoat.
ReplyDeleteIt's https now!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone get their box yet? Are we supposed to get a tracking code? It says 5-7 days after payment and it's been 10 for me. Just very skeptical and hoping I actually receive this box...
ReplyDeleteSame here :(
DeleteOk, so my computer is acting up and I don't know if my original comment went through. Basically I had paid the $5 but was told I'd get the Winter box because the Fall one was sold out. I can't get onto the website because I keep getting an error message and I still have yet to receive my box. It just seems fishy to me
