If you would like to see my in-depth review of the texture, pigmentation, staying power, fragrance and flavor of these lipsticks, please see my review of the reds & oranges here. The short version: they're decadently creamy, feel like a million bucks on the lips, highly pigmented, have very good staying power (3-4 hours or more on my lips) and they smell and taste like watermelon.

25 Naturally Chic (Cream), 26 Nude Creme (Cream), 27 Dulce Caramello (Pearl)
Naturally Chic, which is sort of a pinky-terracotta cream, turns into a lovely "my lips but better" type of shade on my medium-pigmented lips. Nude Creme is a touch too light for me to pull off (I generally can't do light nudes but, if you can, this could be lovely on you since it's not too warm or cool). And Dulce Caramello, which has a pearl finish, is not nearly as frosty and I was thinking it might be. I love the look of latte-colored shimmers on tanned skin, so this might be a nice one if you have a deeper skintone or a bit of a tan this summer.
29 Teddy Bare (Cream), 30 Candied Toffees (Metallic), 31 Bronze Beauty (Shimmer)
29 Teddy Bare (Cream), 30 Candied Toffees (Metallic), 31 Bronze Beauty (Shimmer)
Teddy Bare is like a deeper, browner version of Naturally Chic on my lips (think "my lips but better...and darker") and I can see myself wearing the heck out of this come fall/winter. Candied Toffees reads darker on my lips than what you see above, and it's more metallic than what you see above (but not frosty). Bronze Beauty is WOW on the lips. I mean, it's super metallic-y and it also contains fine glitter, which gives it a lot of dimension. It's like a lipstick version of a bright, sparkling new copper penny.
36 D'Oro (Metallic), 37 Chocolate Berries (Cream), 38 Double Espresso (Pearl)

FINAL VERDICT: This set of shades definitely has the brown-lip-color-lover in mind, but even if you're not a big brown lipstick fan, I think you might be pleasantly surprised by how some of these shades might work for you. The most universal shades in this group are probably going to be Naturally Chic and Teddy Bare (two of my favorites within the entire Color Statement line) but this group of colors definitely has some nice options for every skintone in the spectrum, especially as we head into the cooler months. So many of these colors just scream fall and winter to me--don't you agree?

I wish these weren't watermelon flavoured/scented or I'd have a ton of them. They look amazing!
ReplyDeleteChocolate Berries would look so bad on my skin, but its so different that I kind of want it!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try a few of these lippies. Thanks, G. -Terese
ReplyDeleteThere are several colors in this collection that I would love to own!!!! Thanks G.!
ReplyDeleteNaturally Chic, Teddy Bare, and Chocolate Berries are so pretty. Choc Berries I bet would be really pretty after blotting. These remind me of that late 1990s brown lipstick trend!
ReplyDeleteI own Nude Cream and it is by far my most favorite nude I own! I love that it's a pink nude, and doesn't make me look too much like a dead person lol
ReplyDeleteThe only one from this group I have is Nude Creme, and it works with my fair skin tone. The tube I have leans more pinky, and has a creme/matte finish...it does not have the lustre that your swatches have, even with balm underneath (which is always how I roll with lipcolour of any kind!) I'm really into the rosegold look od Dulce Caramello, might have to pick that one up despite the fact that I don't wear shimmer/pearl very often.
ReplyDeleteI've been loving Naturally Chic!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try some of these for myself, I think many of these would work with my skintone. Personally, I bought Rimmel #104 matte lipstick because it looked like Milani Teddy Bare, and I've ended up loving that color on me!
ReplyDeleteI bought Cherry Crave and Best Red after seeing your reviews on the reds and they're both gorgeous. I don't wear such bold lipstick often so they're pretty intense but so fun. When I opened them and applied them for the first time I was so shocked by how WATERMELON-Y they really are! So yummy. Thanks for these reviews.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this review it will be helpful for me choosing shade:)
