Spotted: NEW Rimmel Wake Me Up Natural Radiance Shimmer Touch, Wake Me Up Concealer and more

As if the arrival of the UK's Apocalips (known here as Show Off Lip Lacquers) wasn't enough, I've got even more exciting news for you Rimmel fans today!

Remember back in January when I posted about the Wake Me Up highlighters and concealers that were on the Rimmel website? Well THEY'RE FINALLY HERE and they've landed at both Kmart at Walmart.

If you missed my original post, let me get up to speed: The Wake Me Up line has been available in the UK for a while and the products have received some rave reviews. The concealer in particular is a "full-coverage" concealer that has almost a five-star average rating on Makeup Alley and has received many raves in the blog world. I know that MANY of you were hoping that the much-loved Wake Me Up foundation would also make its way to the US but, so far, I haven't heard anything about that.

Now on to the sightings!

Reader Nikki was the first to let me know that these products had landed at Kmart--take a look at her pic:

001 Flush of Pearl, 002 Radiant Rose, 003 Peach Glow, 004 Shimmering Sand
(retail: $4.99 each at Kmart, 0.47 oz)

When I first posted about these highlighters, the Rimmel website only showed two shades (and there are only two shades available in the UK--you can see swatches of them here). But as you can see, we in the US have four shades! Also, if you look to the left in Nikki's pic above, you'll see the new Wake Me Up concealers.

Reader 6crew shared a quick photo of the Wake Me Up Concealers too, which she also spotted at Kmart:

On the Rimmel US website there are five shades listed, and you can see five shades above. The shade names are: Very Fair, Very Fair Light, Light, Light/Medium and Medium. A big, huge BOO for the lack of deeper shades, but I know that you porcelain guys and girls out there are probably very happy to see a "Very Fair" option, which I know is not common at the drugstore level.

Reader Jessica spotted the newly-repackaged Lasting Finish Soft Color Mono Blushes at Walmart recently:

A quick Google search told me these these landed at certain Walmart stores a few months ago, but since I mostly shop at drugstores (and I haven't seen them in my area) they're definitely new to me. Loving the new, square packaging!

115 Mauve Cool, 120 Pink Rosé

130 Pink Sorbet, 140 Tickle Me Pink

All four of the shades above are existing colors that used to be packaged in this type of compact. What's interesting to note is that on the Rimmel US website there are seven shades in the range. So maybe Walmart is only choosing to carry four? Also, it looks like Rimmel dropped some of the older shades like Berry. And I think there are some new shades in this range too, such as Bronze, which I don't remember being a part of the original line.

Have you spotted the new Wake Me Up products and/or Lasting Finish blushes in your area yet? Are you excited to try any of these products? Have you already tried any of these products? I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks again, Nikki, 6crew and Jessica, for the great sightings and pics! I really appreciate it!

  1. I saw this line at Wal Mart about two months ago.. The shimmer touches were very grainy and I found that they didn't layer over foundation well. I also got the concealer in the lightest shade and it didn't match me at all, so pale ladies beware :p

Even though it's 'very fair' it kind of turns orange.

    1. Aaah that's a bummer about the concealer, especially since it gets such great reviews. :(

    1. Yep, I mentioned above that these have been at certain walnarts and kmarts for a while, but I still consider them quite new since I don't believe they have hit any of the drugstores yet. :)

  5. I bought the Shimmer Touch in Rosé Glow a couple of months ago and unless you want the craft store glitter look I would suggest passing. If it was color only, I'd love it, but the shimmer in it is just silly.

  6. Maybe if the concealer does well they'll give us the foundation to try, haha.

  7. I found the concealer at my Walmart and bought the lightest shade. It's a bit yellow for me but I can blend it out and set it with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, and it's fine

  8. I still don't understand Rimmel not bringing the foundation to you guys, 1 more thing to add to the handful number of stuff we Canadians get before you :) Don't you find it funny though that the SHow Off and now the highlighters, the UK (which is where Rimmel is from) has less shades than North America?

  9. I haven't seen these yet in my area. I'm bummed that we aren't getting the Wake Me Up foundation here in the US. I've seen a lot of UK reviews and it looks awesome.

  11. Nice to see the blushes making a comeback.. they are very nice (unless they reformulated with the new packaging) and are next to impossible to find, at least in my area.

  12. I'm curious about the concealer. I wonder how it does on dark spots and old acne scars.

  13. For what it's worth, I had asked Rimmel early this year (or maybe end of last year) about the Wake Me Up line, and the email definitively said that the U.S. would only be getting the concealer, not the foundation. So that's a bummer.

  14. it's nice to see a very fair shade. many people bemoan the lack of deep shades for cosmetics, but I am more affected by the lack of fair shades, haha.

the link for the blushes to see the compacts ("this type of compact") links to your page for the new US apocalips, btw.

  15. It's really bad management for Rimmel not to bring out the Wake Me Up Foundation. I mean if you're not going to bring out the foundation then don't release the Wake Me Up Concealers and Illuminators. All other brands have their own sub brands like Revlon's Colorstay line and Maybelline's dream range. Anyways i actually have the Wake Me Up Foundation and it's not bad but not impressive wither. Foundation is really super blendable, satin finish, light to medium coverage. Despite what you've read i don't notice the glitter at all.

  16. I've seen the wake me up line at my local Walmart and also the blushes. The lushes seem hit and miss because I purchased the same shade for me and a friend and mine was pigmented hers wasn't.

  17. Maybe the reviews are more favorable in the UK Due to ingredients being different? I mention this this because some products are reformulated for different countries due to restrictuons/bans on certain ingredients. Just a thought....

  18. I just bought the concealer in very fair light, it's the best concealer I've tried for my under-eye darkness. It didn't settle into my lines at all.
