Not to be confused with the nail color of the same name from 2012's Parisian Spring Collection, L'Oreal has taken that name and given us the Versailles Romance Collection for Spring 2013. If you are a pastel lover, I think you're going to fall in love with this one! (By the way, thanks to reader Eymi for the reminder that L'Oreal came out with a polish named Versailles Romance last year--I had totally forgotten!)
The first person to bring this collection to my attention was reader Emilee on Facebook and, just today, reader Cyndiinphilly was kind enough to share some pics with us! Cyndi spotted this collection at her local Wegmans:

Tara, who purchased ALL of the Colour Riche Balms in this collection, shared some insights with us. Tara writes:
Please note: 947 Legally Regal looks way more purple than it really is in my photos. While it is definitely lavender it has a lot more pink in it irl and looks more like a pinky-lavender. It also looks quite bright in my photo but it's more subtle irl.
The sad news: the baby blue balm (945 Sundays By The Seine) is totally clear. *weeps* The pastel yellow was clear also. I would have been satisfied with the slightest hint of color from Sundays By The Seine but alas, I detected none. The only color that really showed up well was 948 Laze In The Maze, a translucent blushy coral. It's crazy pretty! 947 Legally Regal and 946 Provence Romance showed up on me after many swipes, giving my lips* a pretty blush of translucent color but it took 5 to 6+ swipes. All of the shades had a nice slippery feel during application and felt very moist on the lips. All of the shades had a bit of shine to their finish similar to the Color Caresse lipsticks.
*Please note that my lips have almost no pigmentation and are very, very pale (they match my face, lol!). Products with even the slightest tinge of color show up on my lips.

Thanks so much to Cyndiinphilly for the first photo sighting of this collection, and a huge thanks to Tara for all of the great additional photos and insights!
So beautiful! I don't think I'm going to grab anything from this one though.. I just look better in more saturated colors. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here. There's no way these would show up on my lips. But they're very pretty!
DeleteThen again, that peachy balm is kinda gorgeous.. Like I need another peachy lip color.. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe yellow nail polish looks interesting...it's so rare to see that shade!
ReplyDeleteThese polishes look so pretty but I have had such bad luck with these loreal polishes chipping instantly that I don't want to get anymore. Has anyone else had this problem ?
ReplyDeleteYes me too! :( I get a good day or two, and then they chip even w a good base and top coat I do really love their colors too
DeleteOh I am going to be so broke there are quite a few things that really caught my eye!
ReplyDeleteIt seems that a lot of these polishes are along the same lines as the pastels in Zoya and China Glaze's spring collections. Since I love pastels, I'll be sure to check them out in store when I have a chance!
ReplyDeleteYellow and white lip balms? O__O
ReplyDeleteDo you know if L'oreal will be releasing new shades of the Infallible shadows any time soon? They are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI got the pink lip balm all the way on the left today (at Wegman's). It's beautiful on, a pretty wash of light pink. I was very intrigued by the light blue one but didn't buy it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love my Color Riche balm in Plush Plum. It's a MLBB shade for me. I will def be picking up some of these other balm colors! I wonder if the white one is more like a plain clear lip balm than actually white.
ReplyDeleteI want them all! I'm curious about the yellow and blue balms, if they'd be a nice way to warm up or cool down a lipstick? The other options look pretty, too. Seems like there's a bit more adventurousness showing up in makeup again, which is so cool.
ReplyDeleteYES. Bring on the pastels, man!
ReplyDeleteI love the nail polish colors. I may pick up a couple of those if/when i see a nearby display. Thanks for posting all of the pictures and descriptions too!
ReplyDeleteOk, seriously, this is *exactly* the kind of thing cosmetics companies do that pisses me off in a first-world-problems way. CLEAR? Sure, you could argue that the market for a pale blue or yellow balm is rather limited, but then
ReplyDelete1- don't use those colors in your collection, then.
2- don't include them in a lip balm line you freaking *call* COLOUR RICHE!
Arrrrrr!
It's a shame that the blue and yellow shades are actually clear. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteIll be purchasing the coral. As usual.
I wonder if there will be L'Oreal Infallible Shadows with this collection.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with Simonecanf Lindsay Z. Such a shame couldn't give the balms some color. Arrrrggg! I have begun looking for this display as I wantca couple of colors. Also want to try the nail stickers. Consider me excited?
ReplyDeleteOh my LAWD. I need that blue in my life
ReplyDeleteThese are totally Marie Antoinette inspired!!! I want everything!!!
ReplyDeleteI want more information on the beautiful polishes! Are they sheer or opaque?
ReplyDeleteI actually get some color from the Sundays by the Seine after only two swipes. It's VERY subtle, it looks like the lilac revlon lip butter that I have, but less noticeable. You may be able to build it up more. I like it a lot and I'm glad I picked it up.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors they chose, it's right on trend for all the spring pastels. I think mint is still going for the second year in a row. The mint Le Balm is interesting. I've heard Laze In The Maze is actually pigmented.
ReplyDeletewhere can i buy this
ReplyDeleteI ended up getting 4 of the balms and 5 of the polishes. I'll be getting the rest shortly. I'm obsessed.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen these nail polishes in canada?
ReplyDeleteChantal as odd as it sounds, I scored the entire collection for $3 each at Dollarama. They are lovely opaque creme polishes, I adore them!
