Attention old school Herbal Essences fans! This news might just make your day. A huge thanks to reader Meagan for the heads-up that Herbal Essences is bringing back two of their 1990's product lines, and they're even bringing back the original bottles! Click here for all the details.
In case you forgot about the Herbal Essences "totally organic experience" this should jog your memory:
Thanks again, Meagan, for the heads-up!
I'm pretty excited for these, especially reading that they will be sulfate- and silicone-free.
ReplyDeleteYES, I loved that stuff when I was in high school.
ReplyDeleteStill wish they'd bring back the original 1970s Herbal Essence shampoo -- scent, color, and bottle! Until they do, though, I've found a dupe in the Mexican brand Vanart.
ReplyDeleteI could not be more excited, I was just lamenting about not being able to find a shampoo as good as this!
ReplyDeleteI will so be stocking up. I love the originals. They lost me with the introduction of all the new scents... Not sure why they did it or thought it would help them getting rid of the originals. I wouldn't have minded if they had kept the originals in the first place. The new ones smell too artificial for the most part.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would bring back the candles. They looked beautiful and smelled amazing! Anyone else remember those??
ReplyDeleteYes!! Thank you... Someone agrees with me!! PLEASE BRING BACK THE CANDLES, my all-time favorite... Loved the way they smelled and they lasted forever...
DeleteOMG! The pink bottle was my shampoo for as long as I can remember until they discontinued it! And then it was scrounging in Big Lots and Dollar Tree for any bottles left! (Which was hard to do since I wasn't old enough to drive back then)
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready for this to come back! (:
OMG! I loved the original stuff and the commercials. They made my hair smell so good. I was sad to only see the fruity stuff on the shelves recently. Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I'm so excited about this! I can hardly wait! I stopped purchasing their products when they changed them, I gave the new things a try but never liked it....now I'm in hair heaven! Love this stuff. I was reading this article to my hubby and he is excited to smell it on my hair again...oh the nostalgia! ^.^ thanks g for the heads up ^_~
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sue up there on the original '70's version; loved that stuff! Would you believe that I still have a plastic container of the matching body powder with the original illustration and it still has product in it? Still smells the same, but of course I'd never use something that old! lol I do admit that I give it a sniff now and then just out of nostalgia (ah, my herbally, hippy days when my hubby and I had just found each other!). Hey, that would fit into your Vintage Vault, G.!
ReplyDeletei am so excited just for the old bottles. i found myself thinking about them the other day, too. this is perfect timing.
ReplyDeleteSulfate and silicone free?! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteThis was on the cover of WWD the other day. I will buy them just for the memories, but I tend to dislike most drugstore sulfate free products. They make my hair so frizzy...
ReplyDeleteThese are apparently sulfate-free and silicone-free as well.
DeleteOMG!!!! Pink Bottle of Herbal Essence Shampoo... you didn't even need to wear perfume!!!! It made the whole room smell like your hair!!
ReplyDeleteI really wish they would bring back the original green shampoo. I did love the 90's version as well along with the original Olay body wash. But I think I'm still a little mad at them for discontinuing this line for the crappy neon line they have now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I loved the pink shampoo as well and was so sad when the revamped the whole line. I really don't like the new scents and bottles. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting! I loved the 90s version but I stopped buying it when they revamped the whole line since I didn't enjoy the scent. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about the pink shampoo the other day... Brings back so many memories! I hope they stay on the shelves for a little while longer. This is especially handy now that I'm trying to go sulfate-free. :)
ReplyDeleteI found (with out even looking) the old school Herbal Essences... let me tell you I was pretty excited, so obviously I totally grabbed one and couldn't wait to get home and take a shower to have that scent on my hair. Unfortunately once on my hair and washing it off made my hair sorta stiff, but clean. Once I applied my conditioner that stiffness went away. It must be from the new formula (silicone free). Either way I still love the scent and everything about it... makes me feel young again hahaha
ReplyDeleteBTW - I found it at Target (Chatsworth, California)
At Target? OMG, is it the original fresh scent, the green stuff everyone is looking for and was out in the 60's 70's?
DeleteNo ...the green heavenly stuff from the 70's is still not out. I don't get why they cut it out of their line! Maybe it was ahead of it's time. We're in the year 2013 and people want it back so 2hat's the.pronlem? There are even dupes for the 70's Herbal Essence...but these mysteriously get pulled out too. Similiar smelling ones are Mirta Perales Herbal shampoo and Vanart herbal shampoo.
DeletePlease bring back the Herbal scented candles. EVERYbody I gave them too (several) raved how they scented their whole homes. Then all cried when discontinued.
