Spotted: L'Oreal Limited Edition Diamond Collection (pics and comparisons)

I've got lots to share with you and tell you about the new L'Oreal Diamond Collection, so take a seat and get comfy because we've got lots and lots of pretty pics to look at today!

First up, in case you're unfamiliar with this collection or haven't spotted it in your area yet, there are THREE different displays that each contain certain limited edition products (some displays don't have the lip glosses, some don't have the eyeshadows, etc.). I have yet to see one display that contains everything in the Diamond Collection, so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled if you're looking for something in particular.

So let's take this display by display.

Lots and lots of additional photos and info after the jump...

Reader Annaebelle spotted this particular display at her local Walgreens and was nice enough to share some pics. In this display you'll find:

There are also three different sets of Nail Lingerie in this collection:

Reader Beth emailed some helpful info about some of these nail products. Beth writes:
The 2 polishes I purchased are: The Bigger the Better (black jelly base with silver shimmer and larger chunks of silver glitter) and So Chic (beigey pink creme with gold and silver shimmer) and 3 Nail Lingeries (stickers) that are clear with different color fishnet patterns with little rhinestones in them and are meant to go over a polish color as like a topcoat I guess. The display described them as a "veil" to go over your polish. They were so different and interesting I bought two of the colors but haven't tried them yet.
Reader Jen also spotted "display #1" at her local Walgreens:

Display #2:

Emi from Project Swatch spotted "display #2" which contains just the mascara and eyeshadows (much more on the eyeshadows in a moment).

DISPLAY #3:

Emi also spotted a display that contains the polishes, Nail Lingerie and also some new Infallible 8HR Le Gloss lipglosses. Unfortunately I don't have shade names for the new glosses:

A closer look at the three Infallible eyeshadows in the Diamonds Collection, compliments of Emi:

I believe that both the silver and peach shades are brand new, but Gold Imperial is a repromote and is the same limited edition shade that was in the Summer 2012 It's Gold or Nothing At All Collection. So if you missed out on Gold Imperial the first time around, you've got a second chance!

Emi was nice enough to do some comparisons of the LE colors to some permanent collection shades:

Eternal Sunshine (permanent) vs. Gold Imperial (limited edition repromote)

Liquid Diamond (permanent) vs. Primped & Precious (new limited edition shade)

Emi also did a full review of Blinged & Brilliant (the peachy shade), with swatches and a great dupe comparison, here if you'd like to find out more about this color.

Whew! That's it for this post. If you've already purchased any of these products, I would absolutely love to hear from you. Any must-haves here? Thoughts?

A huge thanks to readers Annabelle, Beth, Jen and Emi for making this post possible. I really appreciate all the photos and info--it helps so much to know exactly what's out there!

  1. I saw display number 3 at Walgreens in NYC today and it was already a bit picked over.

  2. Woohoo! I'm posting my review of all 3 shades tomorrow, they're beautiful! I think they are definitely what the L'Oreal infallible line needed, some basic metallics!

    2. I think because these are considered more wearable & glitzy, they will be wiped out fast. Mine was in a far away Walgreens ON TOP of makeup displays much like the gift sets they're cranking out currently. Such a weird spot, I needed my tall husband because I'm so little! You can see in my swatches that it isn't a true silver but more gunmetal which I actually love! That peachy shade doesn't really say holidays to me but I think it is super wearable!

  3. I'm soooo glad I picked up the shadows and the red glitter polish last week when I went to Bed Bath & Beyond. I went back today to pick up some storage for my desk - and when I checked out the cosmetic section, the L'Oreal Diamonds displays were COMPLETELY wiped out! Lol.

    1. Where do they normally put the cosmetic section in BB&B? I checked every store in vegas and nothing >:(

    2. Gabby: so glad you got what you wanted! :)

Maureen: you can only find these types of displays at BBBs that have an extended makeup department or a Harmon beauty inside the store ( a store within a store). There is a store locator on the BBB site that can tell you which stores have this. Hope that helps!

    3. Funny story. I actually WORK in one of the Harmon SWS in Florida. The same day we got in this collection and the Revlon Just Add Sparkle Holiday 2012 nail polish, before I could even get the chance to go on break and buy the items I wanted from the display I put out, someone came in and literally bought out the entire True Diamond and Midnight Diamond line, as well as all of the Revlon polish except Sequins. I was heartbroken, but I had to laugh at the odds!

  4. I picked up the three infallible eyeshadows because I collect them (it's a weird compulsive thing; I have to have them ALL) and I missed Gold Eternal last time around. But I haven't had a chance to play with them yet :(

  5. I saw completely different display than the ones pictured when I was in Bed Bath & Beyond. But I didn't get a picture. So there's a display # 4 out there. It had the 3 shimmery nail polishes, a few Infalliable lipglosses, and the Blinged & Brilliant and Primped & Precious eyeshadows. It was a pretty small display compared to those pictured.

  6. Interesting that they feature different displays of this, anyway I got the primped and precious which doesn't look as silvery and bright on the eye. I also got 2 of the glosses which are good I have just discovered those I find they last all day (6-8 hours) on my and don't have that L'oreal taste that I hate.
Liking the L'oreal a lot now

  7. Did not dawn on me this Diamond collection was Christmas! I found it starting to appear in a CVS the same time they put out the Project Runway collection displays.

  9. Saw this at my Rite Aid yesterday, and is it just me or is The Bigger The Better (black jelly polish with silver sparkles) near identical to The Queen's Ambition from the Project Runway LE collection? Now I have to pick just one!

    1. I have both of those polishes and I can tell uou that the queens ambition is an almost opaque black base with finer silver glitter while the bigger the better is a black jelly base and almost clear with larger and smaller silver glitter mixed. It feels gritty on the nail but the glitter spreads on the nail bed evenly not patchy and with a topcoat its pretty smooth. I actually layered bigger the better over wueens ambition and it looks amazing! So pretty and sparkly but the black makes it super chic. I would def layer bigger the better over another color simply b/c its almost clear.

  10. I saw this display at Rite Aid today when I went there to look for the Essie Winter Collection which I did not find at either one of my local Rite Aid's that I went to. I did pick up three of the polishes, Sparklicious (silver glitter), so chic!(shimmery nude), and my favorite of them all fancy me (red glitter). Since L'oreal is buy one get one 50% at Rite Aid I bought one of the polishes from their core collection that I've been wanting called Greycian Goddess. The other polishes in the diamond dislay didn't look all that interesting to me so I passed on them. The lip glosses looked amazing and so did the eye shadows so I'll probably go back tomorrow for some of those. When I went the display was fully stocked so I was the first person to buy anything from it. Now I wish I could just find the Essie Winter display and I'll be happy.

  11. I'm wearing Fancy Me now and I love it. Red and coppery gold glitter, in a sheer reddish base. It's like fire on the nails! such a great fall color!

  12. I picked up 6 of them plus a London one ... Brit Invasion that was mixed, last night at Wal-Mart yesterday. They had all been pulled out of the display. They were laying on the other side of the display. *smh* I got a good deal because they price match ... $1.09.
