They've landed, my lovelies! If you missed my three sneak-peek posts over the past few weeks, the new Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Collection has been featured in magazines but, up until yesterday, I hadn't heard a peep about this new collection actually surfacing in stores. But thanks to readers Amanda and Lindsey, I can now confirm that they're here!
Reader Amanda spotted this display at her local Meijer. Not surprising, since Meijer (a regional chain in the midwest) seems to get new collections earlier than the rest of the nation (you lucky Midwesterners!). Amanda was nice enough to share some pics:

(Suggested retail price: $7.99. Meijer price: $5.99. 0.33 oz)
As you can see from the display, the formula is infused with real silver particles. Interesting!

Amanda pointed out that the shade Azure (which Tracy Reese herself shared a pic of on Facebook) is NOT in this display. So perhaps it will be available when this collection moves to the permanent wall display (more on this in a moment).

As luck would have it, as I was working on this blog post, an email came through from reader Lindsey who also spotted this collection at her local Meijer. Lindsey was nice enough to also share some photos, and pointed out that there's ANOTHER shade (in addition to Azure, which I mentioned above) that's missing from this display as well. The purple color on the model's hand:

And if you notice in the display pics from both Amanda and Lindsay, there are EIGHT rows, yet only SIX shades. Therefore, I'm going to assume that both Azure and the purple shade will eventually be available and, hopefully, they'll be present when this collection starts showing up at other retail locations.

So...what do you think of the new Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Collection? We've discussed before that Plume looks like a good dupe of Chanel Peridot, and I know a lot of you are over the Chanel Peridot dupes (which is completely understandable given that there are so many of them out there these days). But for those of us who don't yet own a Peridot dupe (myself included) I think it will be nice to have a drugstore version from a brand that goes on sale quite often. Thoughts?
A huge thanks to both Amanda and Lindsey for the awesome photos and info. I really, really appreciate it!
I'm excited to see Moonstone swatched over black! I have a feeling it will be pretty :)
ReplyDeleteJust what I was thinking. Actually, over dark blue or deep, deep purple!
DeleteI bought Firefly and Moonstone today:D They're so pretty.
DeleteIm wearing firefly today, loving it!
I will be so excited to find these! Lava looks surprisingly interesting to me, like it would be pretty and fiery looking. I am hoping to see some swatches of Moonstone layered, it looks like it might be good for transforming other colors if it's sheer enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how to feel about this collection yet. The colors don't really call to me, other than Scarab which looks great! I think once I see swatches I'll be reaching for my wallet!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I can't wait to find these in stores.
ReplyDeleteI hope that the line expands, and that they add a more burgundy-red/gold shifting color. I'd love another Golden Cinnabar...
ReplyDelete(And I now will have to go looking for these. Le sigh. I really don't **need** them...but they're pretty!!!!)
Exciting!!! I'll be hunting these out for sure!
ReplyDeleteAAAAAnnnnnd, they have to earn their $8 and be fantastic from A drugstore polish. That, or be on sale AND have coupons!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Isis04. If they're the same price as OPI, Essie, Zoya, etc., they'll have to be unique for me to buy. The colors do look interesting, though.
DeleteAt my Walmart they're like $3. I bought lava.
DeleteI found them at my walmart for 4.50, plus I had a $1 off coupon. I only bought Lava though.
DeletePlume and Lava are speaking to me. Gotta search 'em out!
ReplyDeleteLisa
I think Plume Lava copperhead and Moonstone shall be coming home with me when I spot them. Firefly looks too much like All the polish form dupes of MAC's club eyeshadows.
ReplyDeleteLava looks like it could be a dupe for MAC Bad Fairy (I think that's the one I'm thinking of). Either way, I think I want all of these lol.
ReplyDeleteI found swatches of these :http://www.body-soulbeauty.com/2012/09/spotted-sally-hansen-lustre-shine-nail.html ..I think I need Lava =)
ReplyDeleteWell, now, these swatches make me want Firefly and Lava. And this blog says they're $5.99. That would be much more reasonable for a Sally Hansen.
DeleteThanks, The Polished Mommy! I didn't realize she had swatches up! Yay! :)
DeleteThese all look amazing but I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on Moonstone
ReplyDeleteThey look full of promise!
ReplyDeleteI want lava for fall
ReplyDeleteI love Sally Hansen products for the price they are awesome
I love lava for fall love Sally Hansen for the price you can't go wrong been looking for her holo and luster collections
ReplyDeleteI don't have a peridot dupe yet so I'm interested!
ReplyDeleteIm almost 100% sure i know the dupe for lava and its from a recent collection from opi, i have the color i just need to dig it up and i will compare swatches....but like i said im almost positive because it has the same orangy shimmer and everything. Once i swatch i will email it to u.
ReplyDeleteThat would be great! Thanks! :)
DeleteLava looks similar to OPI The Show Must Go On! But, very pretty still
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Thank you. :)
DeleteIs it definite that these will end up in the permanent display? I really hope so, because I think they're pretty pricey for the amount you get, but if they're permanent I can wait for sales. XD
ReplyDeleteFollowing other SH collections that didn't say ”limited edition” on the counter display as a guide, I think it's safe to say that these are a new, permanent line. In fact, I can't really recall seeing a new formula introduced from SH that was limited edition, so i'm pretty sure these will be permanent and possibly will take the place of the HDs in the wall display. :)
DeleteThanks! That's really good news.
DeleteFirefly, Lava, Plume and Scarab--I must have you. I MUST! And I'm usually a creme sorta gal.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'm a creme girl too, but lava and moonstone are calling to me! :)
DeleteLava has me pretty excited. And I don't have my Peridot dupe yet, so hooray for Plume!
ReplyDeleteCopperhead for me! Looks like SH is going to give Cameleon a run for their money with douchromes! It will be interesting to see some comparisons!
ReplyDeleteLava, Firefly, and Copperhead look awesome! I'm going to have to track them down, I think.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the lucky ones who lives near a couple Meijers, but I haven't seen these in stores yet. Copperhead looks nice for fall.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll spot them soon!
DeleteLava reminds me of a Claire's polish, I think it's called Poison Apple? Very Cool collection I love how Sally Hansen always has a large array or polishes to choose from :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Thanks!
DeleteI wonder how long these will take to show up in the ass end of nowhere, Utah. Two months? Three? :/
ReplyDeleteHopefully not that long! :)
DeleteI love the Copperhead and Lava. I haven't seen these anywhere around here yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with them making the bottles so small, just a third of an ounce? That's almost getting into mini size. :-( For $8, I just don't know. Sorry to sound so cheap, but I'm..... cheap! lol
ReplyDeleteIf I were to pick up any of these, it'd probably be Moonstone and Lava. The others look awfully similar to what China Glaze had in the Bohemian collection, two of which I already have. Also if anyone wants a Peridot dupe, there's one in the LE Maybelline Color Show collection (I think it's called Boho Gold?).
ReplyDeleteActually, when I swatched the LE Color Shows a while back, I linked to a comp of boho gold and the OPI Peridot dupe...it's not an exact dupe. Boho Gold seems to have a lot more bronze to it. Hope that helps!
DeleteAhhh, okay. Sometimes it's hard to keep this stuff straight.
DeleteMoonstone is reminding me of an old SH, Turquoise Opal, it was one of the Prisms shades. I don't have mine anymore, but I hope someone out there will do some comparisons of these shades with Prisms! I'm still hoarding my bottles of Ruby Emerald and Lapis Amethyst like they're made of gold ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoarding my old nail prisms too. :)
DeleteI am a little cracked out to get these, especially Lava, and possibly Copperhead. I want to see comparison swatches on the others.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to get Lava, but I'm hesitant to pay the suggested retail price. If they turn out to be cheaper once they hit other locations, or if I can find it on sale, then I'll be happy to get it.
ReplyDeleteI actually had Lava and Copperhead in my basket to buy after taking these pictures, but talked myself out of them until a sale. I hope I don't end up kicking myself.
ReplyDeleteOooo that Lava color is pretty!
ReplyDeleteCopperhead is now reminding me a little bit of Shag from Butter London. If it's a dupe or almost a dupe, that'd be a good deal because BL is $14.
ReplyDeleteMoonstone looks like a dupe to China Glaze's "Rainbow" and Nina's "Molten Opal". Only Copperhead and Lava seem to be unique so far.
ReplyDeleteMust have! Nyu! Azure and Plume are my thing, but Moondust and Lava? More leaning towards Lava since I hardly get a red color. Plus, I did did an early apply to Walgreens' Balance program (if anyone has gotten the e-mail newsletter, you can apply before Sunday) and still a part of CVS! So, I will be hunting for these! Also, these sound more sparkly than the Gem Crush line that's still in stores.
ReplyDeleteLava reminds me a lot of MAC Bad Fairy, which I lusted after for ages. This is going to be a must have!
ReplyDeleteJust found these today at my local Walgreen's - for 8.49!. Whew! Plume reminded me of Just Spotted the Lizard somewhat. I bought Lava and have been playing with it, but so far am not impressed - maybe I haven't found the right underwear? Or, maybe it doesn't need underwear? Anyway, for this price for a Sally Hansen, it could at least bring me a cup of coffee! :>)
ReplyDeleteI tried it layered over a deep purple and it was lovely. Try some darker colors.
DeleteMeijer has all Sally Hansen for BOGO half off this week and they're only $5.99 plus Red Plum coupons so I'm going in for the kill!
ReplyDeleteWhile looking at a post by Polish Insomniac, I realized the promo image only had 6 shades, and the promo bottle shot of Copperhead leaned very purple (It does NOT look like that IRL. Sigh, advertising.) I'm going to give it a chance and try it with some dark undies and see if that bring the purple out to play. Lava looks amazing over dark.
I cannot wait to see these in stores near me. Unfortunately, here in LA we seem to get the releases after everyone else :( So excited!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the worst polish I have bought all year. Super sheer, one hour after applying two coats and I smudged it... scratching my arm. The color is beautiful, but the formula is terrible!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen these in North Carolina anywhere?
ReplyDeleteFinally saw these yesterday (six of the colors) on a tiny, tall, narrow end cap display at a CVS in Bozeman, MT. The price is ridiculous -- over $8 -- but I was a sucker and got one, Scarab. Am looking forward to trying it, but believe me, at that price for a drugstore polish it better do laundry and wash windows, too!
ReplyDeletei bought them all when they were on sale (except of course for the missing colors) as i had the feeling they were colors i'd have to try to really know if i liked/ wanted & honestly the only one i'm not going to return is LAVA. the others are okay but not great enough for me @ the price, even @ buy one get one half off. my biggest complaint about them is probably that most were a bit streaky for me...except lava as it's a diff texture altogether. lava i LOVE though & would readily have bought it for $10!
ReplyDeletejust saw the comment above re: thinking Lava looks similar to OPIs The Show Must Go On. i have both now & they really aren't. not saying that Lava isn't a dupe (or near dupe) to a recent OPI but it isn't to one that i have or are aware of. hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone actually used Azure or Gilt?
ReplyDeleteAnd, what's this talk of underwear??? I'm new to nails. LOL!!!
my walgreens in brooklyn, ny actually had these marked down to $1 each. not sure if this is regional or national clearance. i got copperhead, firefly and scarab, which were the only ones left.
