BB cream lovers! If the only drugstore BB cream currently on the market in the US (Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream) isn't cutting it for you, then you might want to know that there are two others scheduled to hit drugstores VERY soon (in fact, one is already available for online purchase):
First up, a big thanks to reader Unknown for leaving a comment on the You Tell Me page about the new Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, and another big thanks to reader Katie for letting us know that it's already available for purchase on the Target website ($6.99)!

And for you L'Oreal fans, a huge thanks to Shawna (ratherbedancing3 on YouTube) for letting us know that there's a sneak peek of the new L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream here. I believe this is the same product that's been on the market in Australia, the UK and other countries for a while (the name of this product abroad is Nude Magique BB Cream and you can see it on the L'Oreal Australia site here). I think I like the "overseas name" of this BB cream more than I like the US name...how about you?
Shawna also shared that there are lots of other new L'Oreal products heading to drugstores this July, including six new Infalliable Eyeshadow shades! Click the links below for more info:
Thanks so much, Unknown, Katie and Shawna for the fantastic info. I really appreciate it!
Are you excited about any of these new products heading our way?
I have the Garnier BB Cream and am not a huge fan of it. It was a little greasy and the formula a little too thin. I've used Smashbox's BB cream and love it but don't love the $39 price tag. I'm sooooo glad to see L'Oreal and Maybelline coming out with theirs. You bet I'll be trying them both. Hopefully they're a better alternative to the hugely expensive and the greatly disappointing ones I've tried.
ReplyDeleteI had awful luck with the Garnier BB too. It made my face really greasy and it felt oddly heavy.
DeleteCan't wait to try those two BB creams! The Garnier one was too dark for me even in the Light/medium shade:)
ReplyDeleteI attempted to purchase the Maybelline BB cream on the Target website, but it says is only available in stores. When I did the store search, it says out of stock.
ReplyDeleteExciting that it's so close but it doesn't seem that it's available to purchase quite yet!
As always, thank you for being the first to let me know about stuff like this!!
I had the same experience when I clicked the link. I wanted to order it too! Bummer.
DeleteI am currently using the Garnier BB cream. It's nice how it applies and the coverage however, it makes my skin so oily. I would like to try other inexpensive brands. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying Garnier's BB cream and I can't wait to try out the Maybelline & L'Oreal versions, too!
ReplyDeleteyeah!! I was going to have my mom bring one from India (as they are living there now) since I wanted to try it. I figured that the US shades wouldn't be dark enough but am happy to see a "deep" shade too! Can't wait to get it from Target instead.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOO soooo excited for the maybelline one!!!will you be reviewing either of these? Thanks for this awesome info!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny that people hate on the Garnier BB cream. I'm not sure if they're using a different one from the US version. I have the US version and I love it! It's light feeling, covers my orange-rind pores, evens out my skin tone (I have a bit of redness), doesn't break me out or clog pores (I'm very clog & acne prone), doesn't make my oily skin worse (I've had some that made me even more oily! With this one I can just touch up once with powder), it looks like my skin & doesn't cake (really rare for my skin; almost all foundations cake on me), and it just gives me a natural glow. Of course I have to cover pimples & under eye circles with a concealer.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when those Caresse lipsticks would make it to the US... the BB creams are a surprise, but I'm looking forward to the new Loreal Infallible shadow shades.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for the Maybelline BB cream. I hope "Light" isn't orange, though...
ReplyDeleteomg!! can't wait to try the new BB creams. and the new Infallibles are gonna be perm?!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep hoping for a BB cream that will work on my oily skin. I love the idea of it, and it would be so convenient to use. I too think the overseas markets get the most awesome product names, I can't really understand why they change the names of colors and shades here... it's almost like they think they have to "dumb them down" for us or something lol.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if either of these contain "fragrance"? The Garnier one does and I'm allergic so I can't use it =(
ReplyDelete5 of the 6 new infallible shades look like ones either previously released here in Canada or ones from the permanent collection available in stores. Looks like they are finally equalizing the two - although the name difference seems rather silly... I have seen previously US only shades here as well (Amber Rush, Bronzed Taupe, Iced Latte, Golden Sage)...
ReplyDeleteOut of the new shades listed:
Liquid Diamond looks like Flashback Silver
Smoldering Plum looks like Burning Black
Glistening Garnet looks like Golden Mahogany
Golden Emerald sounds like Emerald Lame
Bottomless Java sounds like Endless Chocolate
There was a turquoise released in a previous collection, but it was a matte formula
Hope this helps someone out :-)
I wonder if I will like these. I'll wait for the reviews to come out. I heard that the Garnier one was really oily and for someone with oily skin I decided not to get that one.
ReplyDeleteI'm deeply in love with the Garnier BB cream in light/medium! It's a staple I'll use for as long as they continue to make it. Because of my love for that one, I'm excited to try some other brands. I don't think they'll be as good as Garnier, but I'm happy to test them out anyway! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I first purchased the Garnier BB cream I really did not like it because it was so sheer and slid all over my face. Then I learned to work with it, and basically treat it exactly as a foundation. Primer, concealer, then set it with a powder. The primer helped SO much. Now I love it, and am excited to check out other brands.
ReplyDeleteOh man I hope the L'Oreal light one is comparable to their w1 true match foundation. w1 is getting hard to find around my town (they start at w3 at my Target now, w2 I can use towards the end of summer but w3 is waaay too dark).
ReplyDeleteI was so glad Garnier did samples of theirs so I could find out their light wasn't very light at all!
I spotted 2 different L'oreal BB Creams at Walgreens last week. One was the one you are talking about and the other was L'oreal Youth Code BB Cream and was displayed with the newer skincare items and not the makeup. Since it looks like it is part of the Youth Code line I am guessing it is being marketed more as skincare. I'd be interested to hear how these differ if anyone tries both.
ReplyDeleteI saw a pretty in depth review last night on YT. The youth code version is very similar to the Garnier one, but with a little more coverage, staying power, and slightly drier. It has the same amount of sunscreen and even almost exactly the same scent. The other one is quite different, reminiscent of the Almay self adjusting foundation with the beads... it comes out white and then adjusts to skin tone. The review on it was more of a first look, but she did say it was more similar in function to a traditional BB cream with skincare beneficial ingredients, however it did not contain sunscreen. The second one sounds very interesting to me, and I hope to see a more in depth review on it somewhere soon. HTH.
DeleteLoving the maybelline bb cream! Bought it at Walgreens & so far so good!! At $8 it's not breaking the bank. They had testers & I'm in med/deep. I'm fair complexion but tan for summer. Try it! You won't be disappointed:)
ReplyDeleteI've tried both L'Oreal's and Maybelline's. The L'Oreal one is fantastic. Really smooths the skin. I follow with a tinted moisturizer from Cover Girl (light). I love the Maybelline one for a different reason; it's got a tint and glow that really perks up my late afternoon skin.
ReplyDeleteCover Girl's BB is, from all indications, the same as their tinted moisturizers. I like to put it on top of L'Oreal's BB.
Good stuff. And I'm 56 years old.
