If you're a nail polish nut and you're not following Polish Insomniac and/or the lovely @jbrobs on Twitter, you're really missing out on a great blog and an all-around great gal. J was kind enough to send me some dupe comparisons she discovered in the new Wet n Wild Fastdry Nail Color collection I showed you here and here. And, she even took comparison pics of a dupe I thought I spotted and, turns out, it's not a dupe at all.
So big HUGE thanks to J for all of the following pics. They are so incredibly helpful--I hope you agree!

Left: Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy (retail: $1.99)
Right: Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game (retail: $18)

J also threw in Not Like the Movies
(from the soon-to-be released OPI Katy Perry collection)
This is a pretty incredible dupe of an $18 polish, huh? Oh! And I also just noticed that Scrangie posted a great dupe comparison of Gray's Anatomy and Wicked Game earlier today, so definitely check that out too.
Next up:

Left: Wet n Wild Teal of Fortune (retail: $1.99)
Right: OPI Catch Me In Your Net (retail: around $8)
J said that the Wet n Wild version is just a tab more blue, but hey, it's good enough for me! Oh and don't forget there's another good dupe of this shade in the new Jesse's Girl collection as well.
And finally we have the non-dupe:

Left: Wet n Wild FuchsiaRama (retail: $1.99)
Right: Milani Rad Purple (retail: $4.99)

As you can see, not a dupe at all, but I hope you can also see what I mentioned in my original review--the texture of these two polishes is quite similar and they both dry down to the same semi-matte finish.

swatches of all three dupe comparisons
I hope you find these pics helpful! J, thanks again for such wonderful photos--I know how much effort goes into things like this and I really appreciate it!
Have you already purchased any of the shades mentioned in this post? Or any other shades from the new Fastdry collection? I'd love to hear from you!
I'm definitely going to pick up that DL dupe!
ReplyDeleteI picked up Gray's Anatomy, but after this post I NEED Teal of Fortune!
ReplyDeletewow!! the teal of fortune looks exactly like the OPI... crazzzyyy! I already got the Grey's Anatomy & I'm lovin it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, my love!
ReplyDeleteWow awesome post! Thank you so much G.! I can't wait to buy this, hopefully my CVS or Walgreens get them soon.
ReplyDeleteThat last Wet N Wild purple is what I like to consider my 'signature' shade; I never get sick of it. Jesse's Girl had a polish just like it in the old formula, as did a polish I got at an ABC store in Honolulu. I absolutely love it and am always on the lookout for new formulas, so this was very helpful. Thanks, J!
ReplyDeletei swatched 12 of the 18 colors on my blog and iam considering doing the dupe swatches next!!!!
ReplyDeleteLeft: Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy (retail: $1.99)
ReplyDeleteRight: Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game (retail: $18)
i think Orly's Space Cadet is also the same, based on the color in bottle anyway. If so, then Rimmel and Hard Candy (I think I remember reading about this) also have dupes :)
Oh, wow! Those are all pretty similar.
ReplyDeleteAnother great post, I love your blog :)
fuchsiarama is identical to the old jesse's girl wild thing and sinful colors dream on. my only condolences for buying the same polish twice is that sinful colors has a way better bottle design than the rectangular jesse's girl. the giant rectangle cap and short brush made the JG one really hard to apply.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison post! Woo Hoo!
ReplyDeleteLove love your blog! I know I never comment but I watch it like a hawk. I bought 11 of the (I think 16?) polishes!
ReplyDeleteI have both Gray's Anatomy and Teal of fourtune on my nails now. I love them both!!!
ReplyDeleteLeft: Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy (retail: $1.99)
ReplyDeleteRight: Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game (retail: $18)
By the looks of it this may be a dupe as well- Essie: For The Twill Of It
That's weird- I just got Rad Purple the other day (from the $$ Store, yeaaahh!) and it looks the same on my nails as the FuchsiaRama swatch! Maybe that's just me... or maybe I have an old bottle...hmmm.
