I've got a lot of little miscellaneous pieces of info that don't deserve an entire blog post, so I thought I'd compile them all here for you to read at once. I'd love it if you could read through this entire post and answer the question at the end, if you have the time of course. Thanks in advance!
1) This is for Halifax and all of my Canadian lovelies! If you've contacted Wet n Wild about when you should expect to see their new products in your area, I've got a direct message for you: They're coming! My contact tells me that she's looking into obtaining a full list of Canadian distributors and ship dates, but she was able to tell me that new products generally ship a few months later to Canada than they do to the US, so you may have to wait a bit but they will be there eventually! Something to look forward to, right? :)
2) The awesome JoeyBunny, who guest-reviews for the equally awesome Pink Sith, told me the most excellent story that I want to share with you! Here's what she said:
I'm not sure if you're familiar at all with Kanye West's girlfriend Amber Rose, but this past Thursday I was makeup shopping with a friend when we saw her in the street. She had on this INCREDIBLE glossy red lipstick, and my friend (who's a red lippie person) wad dying to know what she was wearing. We walked into a Sephora to browse, and Amber Rose also walked in. After finally staring at her long enough I walked up to her and asked her what lipstick she was wearing. She was gracious enough to offer to pull it out for us to show us, and after digging around for 5 minutes she found it, and... It was one of the new Maybelline lipsticks! The name was "Very Cherry" and I was shocked to see her with a drugstore lipstick! I told her that I was surprised and she said , "Oh I know but it's great!!".
Clearly, my friend and I bolted to the nearest drugstore to buy it =)
Thought you'd enjoy reading this! It's fun to know even celebrities appreciate a good bargain.
And here's a pic of Amber Rose taken that very same day:
Click here to see her rocking "Very Cherry".
How cool is that? And seriously, not to toot my own horn or anything but I knew those Color Sensational lipsticks were something special when I reviewed them a while back. Have you tried them yet? I'm tempted to get that "Very Cherry" now. lol!
3) I am totally freaking obsessed with the new "Halle" by Halle Berry perfume. The combination of notes (cashmere musk, amber, fig leaf, pear blossom, hibiscus, mimosa and sandalwood to name a few) is just sooooo soft and comforting to me, yet at the same time it's sparkling, sweet and lush. I cannot get enough of that tester when I go to my local Rite-Aid. So far the lowest price I've seen is $17 for the smallest bottle. Ouch. If anyone's seen a better price out there, please leave a comment and let me know. I neeeed to own this.
4) And finally, I need your help. I've got a $5 store credit at Sally Beauty that is burning a hole in my wallet. I need to use it before the end of August but I'm at a loss for what to buy. Is there anything at Sally that you think I need to own? A new discovery or an old favorite? Or maybe something you'd like to see me review? Please leave a comment here if you have any ideas. I want to make this a worthwhile purchase. Thank you in advance for your suggestions--I'm open to just about anything. :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for reading through all of these bits of info (if you made it this far!).
I don't have a Sally's near me but know the one product I would want: L'Oreal Feria Color Moisturizing Treatment (if I am thinking of the right product). I believe it is the same hair conditioner that comes in the coloring products.
ReplyDeleteOoooooooooooh I LOVE YOU! Thanks for asking after the WnW products! Hahaha I only go to Sally for the China Glazed nail polishes. I did notice they have a section for nail treatments? Have you used those before? Especially the prevention of yellowing nails.
ReplyDeleteYay for #1 :-) A few months behind isn't fair at all, but better than never. WnW needs to update our Walmart with new products, in general, as I haven't seen new items for a long time. Thanks for checking the info out for us.
ReplyDeleteFor #4: There's so much to buy in the little store of Sally's. I don't know whether you need makeup (there're coupons on their site for BOGO Femme Couture Mineral or Savvy Lip products). And there're tons of nail polishes, nail care, hair care products. Or maybe Batiste dry shampoo :-) $5 isn't hard to spend, lol
Ohhh, I'm such a dunce! I meant to post the bright lipstick comment on THIS entry. :( Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Sally's near me or I'd totally pitch in.
I picked up Red Revival and Very Cherry and love them both! I actually posted tutorials with me wearing them. My silver one has Very Cherry and my pinup one has Red Revival. I think they're great lipsticks ;) I'm really impressed with Maybelline's new lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteBtw for Sally's, they have China Glaze nail polish, so I'd say look at that :)
ReplyDeleteHi Oceanwoman! Great idea! I totally forgot about that conditioner!!
ReplyDeleteHi Halifax--I will definitely pass on your comment to my contact. Thanks! Also, thanks for the info about that coupons for Sally. I will definitely check that out!
Hey Femputer! No worries. :) I saw your other comment and I say just go for it! Once you get used to wearing brighter colors, I think you'll stop feeling self-conscious. It takes a little getting used to but as long as *you* like the look, that's what's most important. :)
Hi Phyrra! Oh that's right! I remember now that you won "Very Cherry" and it looks fab on you. :) Thanks for the reminder about China Glaze at Sally. I need to check out their selection. :)
Hey Fay! Love ya right back! lol! :) I'm so glad I could help!
ReplyDeleteRegarding nail treatments: I haven't used one in a loooong time and for some odd reason, I've never used a nail treatment that actually did what is promises to do. :( BUT, I am always willing to give them another chance, so I think I'll look into this and see if anything grabs my attention. Thanks for the great idea!
If you're interested in China Glaze, Sally's currently has them on sale for $4.95, so that's a bonus as well! Also, the Finger Paints polishes found at Sally's are gorgeous :)
ReplyDeletePick up something from Palladio. I have been testing their products out recently and have been surprised at how good they are. I am going to post a review this weekend.
ReplyDeleteMichelle
P.S. thanks for your comment about my 11 happy things. We do have a lot in common ;-)
Hey Nicole! Thanks for the tip on the ChG sale! I didn't know they were on sale this week! Tempting! I'll have to check out the colors available at my local Sally, and also those Finger Paints. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Michelle--I actually have tried quite a few Palladio products but I just realized that I haven't reviewed any of them here on this blog! Doh! Is there anything you're currently loving from this line? I have a few e/s trios that are nice, and I think I also used to own the powder foundation and an herbal eyeliner. Thanks! :)
Beyond The Zone makes a hair masque product I believe is called "Last Call". It is a great conditioner and moisturizer for dry hair. That would be my recommendation for your gift card.
ReplyDeleteHey Michelle! I will definitely check that out! I have used a few Beyond the Zone products in the past and really liked them. Great rec! Thanks. :)
